I've been bought two MacBooks and a bunch of accessories from MyMac Glen Waverley store. When I bought the MacBook pro 16, I also bought the AppleCare+ for the laptop. However, when I contacted Apple support team for some minor storage issue, I then found the AppleCare+ has not been activated yet. That means they charged me $404.10 with nothing for me. I am pretty sure if I didn't get the minor storage issue, I might just pay AppleCare+ for nothing for the whole 3 years of coverage period. I clearly remember when I got the AppleCare+ in the store, I was told that they will activate it straightway. I trusted them and didn't check it afterwards. I believe they did this deliberately. If I could give them zero stars I would. I went in last week on my break (in a big rush) to buy a replacement phone as my old iPhone7 plus is on its absolute deathbed. I told the server that I needed a replacement and he looked at my phone, and verified that I would be fine with an iPhone8... When I got home and tried to set up the new phone I realised that he had sold me a 64G, which is smaller than my old phone, so a 'restore as back up' wouldn't be possible. I called today to try and exchange it for a larger phone, (totally happy to pay the price difference) and the incredibly rude staff member (whose name was Cody) told me that 'we don't offer returns or exchanges'. After I pressed him, he relented and said that they will accept the return, for a 20% "restock fee". 20% of the $1300 I paid is $260. $260 just to take the phone back, that had been used for about 20 minutes? He told me that their returns and exchange policy is stated on the receipt. Which it is. A receipt that you receive AFTER you purchase something. Then they tell you they won't exchange or return. Genius. I have bought several products from this place and I will never ever be returning. Not only are they dodgy AF, they are really really rude. If you're going to be dodgy at least have some charm. Trust me, it's totally worth the trek to the 'burbs to go to a real apple store. These guys are only in business because they are in a super convenient location. I went to a proper apple store today to buy another phone that's big enough to back up my old one and they have fantastic customer service and are not shady AF like the creeps at MyMac. I've been to My Mac twice now - once when my iPod Nano died (while still under warranty) and once when my MacBook's screen went permanently black. The service desk at My Mac is off to the side, not in the main store. The staff took my details quickly and listened to my diagnosis. In both instances I was asked multiple times if the device had "come in contact with water". I felt like they didn't believe me when I said "no", which was slightly frustrating - think I'd know if my iPod had taken a swim, it's not like it can drive itself to the beach. In the case of my iPod I got a call within 3 days confirming my suspicions that it had simply died, and was told I could come back in to collect a new one. With my MacBook, it took a little longer because they actually repaired the screen. All up it was 10 business days, but My Mac were really proactive about calling me with updates - first at 5 days and then 9. I really appreciated their focus on customer service and have since forgiven them for insinuating I drowned my electronics. read more

Can just ask for photo id which is decidedly more secure anyway, but won't. The worst Apple experience I have ever had was with MyMac on Flinders St. I took my son's Mac mini in for service, under warranty, as it had a logic board failure.They replaced the logic board, 2 days turn around - all good so far - until I get it home and find they DOWNGRADED the CPU. I call them up to point out the error and get attitude on the phone saying I must prove they did this (!). It took me a whole day to gather the "proof" they screwed it up, took it back in, and got the correct CPU put back in... except they screwed it up and left it in a weird debug state that not even AppleCare could diagnose over the phone. After all this, I took it into a different authorised dealer - Vertical IT in St. Kilda - whom I would HIGHLY recommend. MyMac is a joke... stay away! read more

Incompetent, insincere and hostile customer 'service'. Late on a Friday afternoon I bought in an iPhone that was not powering-up. One of the consultants advised me that the phone was faulty, and given that it was under warranty would be replaced and that a replacement phone would be available to pick up the next day by midday. Mentioning that I would be coming up from the Mornington Peninsula by train, and asking if there were any other options to get a phone locally, I was told 'no' and that the earliest time to pick up a replacement phone would be the next day after 12pm. The next day, having travelled for almost two hours from the Mornington Peninsula to the Flinders street store, your Store Manager Codi told they were stock of these phones. And that there was nothing that he could do about this. From my perspective, the product was faulty. The My Mac customer service member that gave the wrong advice. The store that was out-of-stock. And these were all mistakes that My Mac made. Absolutely no responsibility for any of this. Manager Codi offered a tokenistic apology, but said there was nothing he could do about it - no phone to lend for the weekend, no solution, instead he suggested that I go to Preston to pick up a phone - WOW. I understand that mistakes happen, but usually when you've made a mistake you generally try to do something to rectify it or make it better. Actions generally speak louder than words, and inaction in this situation basically gave me the impression that My Mac don't really care - not about customers, not the brand they represent and given how bad the retail sector is at the moment, it makes me think they don't really care about their business. Made an on-line appointment for replacing battery in my iPhone 6s. Showed up to day and was immediately told I would need to have the screen replaced for $299 before they could replace the battery for another $99. The screen has a very small crack in one corner and I was told the whole screen might break and that the store policy was not to replace a battery unless the screen was undamaged. The service guy was very pedantic about it, insisting there was no other approach to this. Just black and white - screen replaced or no battery replaced. So I took it around the corner and got a new battery installed for $50 Won't be going back there again. read more

The guy at the store asked issue with my phone which I explained him in details that my phone is restarting on its own every few hour providing with a case ID and.........he just wrote "no power" in the description. After 15 days I got my phone back saying its switching back on when we tried so no fix required. This place got such bad reviews I thought I'd report the good experience I had. I was here on business from the US, and the power adapter I had wouldn't work with my laptop -- which I needed to make a presentation. An adorable Seth Rogen lookalike told me I could get a power adapter for $99, a travel adapter for $45...and then said "Wait!" and dashed into a back room. He came back with a small adapter which was exactly what I needed for $20. Nice! And cute. read more

I have purchased a MacBook Pro less than 2 years ago. About 7 months ago the original hard drive crashed and I had to get a new one installed. I went to a Apple reseller in Melbourne (My Mac Flinders Street). They have installed a Samsung 500g on my computer and 45 days later the new hard drive crashed. The reseller advised that it could happened and get the computer again to get the product replaced. When I went to pick the computer and took it home found out the it was not working. I took it back to the store and it was identified, curiously, that the battery needed to be replaced. Firstly I felt ripped off by $150 as a week before the computer /battery was not showing any alerts regarding battery life issues. So seems to me too much "bad luck" as the reseller said. Secondly, it is unacceptable that an Apple reseller return a product to the customer not even checking if the computer can be switched on. Finally, 4 months later the hard drive crashed again and today I took the computer again to the store. The only reason that I did it was because I still have the 12 months warranty for this product and have to go back to the same reseller otherwise I would definitely go to a Apple store and change my view about Apple products and move back to PC world where I do not recall any similar issues as I am having with Apple right now. read more

Went with some trepidation after reading other reviews. Sure enough it was a long wait in the queue (40 minutes) BUT: - at the end of the queue, the service was excellent, the problem (OS reinstall to IPad) resolved flawlessly the same day, and the service fee ($29) waived on account of the wait. Now they've told me the phone is faulty - they will need to return to Apple to get me a replacement (refurbished phone not a new one) and it will take 10 days. No replacement phone offered in the interim. I don't understand how they think they can sell a product that doesn't function as intended and then replace with a 2nd hand version. I am since lodging a complaint with the ACCC. You are at a disadvantage if you buy from this store - I would recommend buying direct from Apple. But I will never buy from these guys or Apple again. Their website confidently claims they can fix all iphones. I took my older iPhone 4 in as it needed a minor repair. They were very understaffed as I had to wait quite a long time just to see the one person they had running the service bar. I mentioned that I had an iPhone that needed some help and before he even knew the model or problem he reluctantly said that they couldn't solve many iPhone issues. This was a surprise given the bold declaration on their website that they are iPhone repair experts. Anyway, as soon as I mentioned it was an iPhone 4 he basically laughed and said that it was an antique that is no longer serviced by Apple and turned me away. I then called Apple care and they said that the iPhone 4 is definitely still a phone they can service and they directed me to an actual Apple store that was able to fix it without any issues. Save your time and just actually go to an Apple store out in the suburbs where they have the right folks to help. read more

For a premium brand the shop culture and attitude is lousy. An Apple exec should go in and check out how these monkey's are damaging their brand name. I bought a Moshi plastic protector for a 15in Macbook but it was the wrong one, so I went and returned it, but there was a no refunds policy.Ok, so I ask if the sales rep could find one for the 2012 model. He came out with a Speck protector in a tattered box that had a half price sticker on it but then proceeded to charge me full price. First he said that the item inside was new and that it was inserted into another 'better box'. I told him that the box was scruffy and asked him if he was 'taking the piss', but of course he said no and proceeded to offer to replace the item if it didn't fit. The dice were loaded as this cover had to fit and if it did I would not be returning it and therefore paying full price. I asked to see the manager, but he said there wasn't one. So I took the item out and of the store briefly to allow him to communicate to the other guys and then quickly returned. Another rep said he would make an 'exception' and honor the original price, sure mate, whatever... I should have opened it in the store just to rub it in, because the item had scuffing on it and was clearly used as a demo and belonged in the box it came in, even at half price they didn't lose. I was originally going to spend $1500 but after reading these reviews, I thought I would make a small purchase first and have a chat to gauge their honesty, happy I did. Avoid these guys. read more

Don't bother with My Mac - go to a real Apple store!!.....This place is a joke! My iphone was damaged (it stopped charging) and still under warranty, so I came into the store to try and fix it. Turns out one of the charging pins was damaged. My Mac tried to convince me that such a problem is not covered under warranty as the warranty does not cover "physical damage", and I'd likely shoved something I shouldn't have inside the charging port (seriously?). I'd read the warranty and knew this was incorrect, as I'd only used the product to 'Apple's published guideline'. They then offered to sell me a new phone and trick me out of $499 - which I could pick up in 4-5 days. Instead I went to the Apple store at Chadstone the next day. I told them my issue, and they required 30 mins to run some diagnostics to confirm my issue and confirm there was no water-damage (voiding the warranty). I was told if there was water damage I could buy a new phone for $350 (already cheaper than My Mac). Apple Chadstone confirmed there was no water damage and that a damaged charging pin is covered under warranty, as I thought. I was given a new iphone on the spot under warranty, free of charge. Visit a real Apple Store if you want good service! read more
