Maybe it is because I generally don't buy all that much - all I the software that I use is freely available, and I generally only get hardware when I absolutely need it - that I don't visit many computer shops. This place isn't bad, though the staff are only knowledgeable on the stuff that most people use, so if you come with a question like 'does this work on Linux' there response is - it should. Also, if you are looking for component parts (such as a power supply) then unfortunately you won't find any here. In a way it is a store that deals specifically with computers, and really only stuff that the average user would require. They also tend to be a little more expensive that some of the other store, but at least they do know a little more than your average salesperson at Dick Smiths.

After trying a few different cables (and I'm not sure exactly how I managed to acquire them), I was forced to accept the inevitable. My phone had turned into an expensive brick. I checked into MKC in Melbourne's city centre after finding them online. My iPhone had stopped recognising when it was connected to recharge, so I took it in and was told it'd probably be either the battery itself or the dock that accommodates the cable. The conversation went like this: Me: Hello. My iPhone is a brick. MKC: What's wrong with it? Me: (Explained what was wrong with it). MKC: Oh. That'll probably be the battery or the cable dock. Me: Can you fix it? MKC: Probably. Give us an hour and $79. 60 minutes later, I was handed back a fully operational, functioning phone. Brilliant. Staff were friendly and straight-talking. I was happy with the price. I hope I don't have to visit again, but if things go sideways, MKC will be my first port of call.

Located on Elgin, the shop is a tad randomly placed but i can imagine individuals would come from all over to see some of these astounding accessories. One of the coolest items i've seen in Xero is a phone handset (think the one you had a few years back, attached to a unit with a curly cord) that can plug into your iphone, so you can use your iPhone like a home phone. Absolutely one of a kind (well unless you eBay, then i'm sure there's plenty of knock-offs). If you Apple crazy, you will want to see this bundle of joy!

I brought in a 14-inch 2021 MacBook Pro that had suffered liquid damage from a hot starchy water spill. The laptop had completely stopped turning on. No power, no normal signs of life, and from what I had already been told elsewhere, it sounded like the kind of problem that often gets written off as not worth fixing. From the start, IT-Tech felt like a different category of repair shop. They were realistic about the risks, but they also clearly understood that this was a board-level problem and not something that could be solved with a superficial clean. What I appreciated was that they did not pressure me into an open-ended money pit. The arrangement was clear: if they could fix it, there would be a set repair cost, and if they could not, I would not be charged. That mattered a lot. Frances in particular was excellent to deal with. She was kind, calm, and professional throughout the whole process. She communicated updates clearly, explained where things were at, and made a pretty awful situation feel manageable. When you are handing over an expensive machine that seems dead, that kind of communication matters a lot. The repair itself took around 3 weeks, which to me actually made the whole process more credible. This was not some rushed same-day guess. It was clearly something that took proper investigation, labour, and probably sourcing or deeper board work. In the end, they got the machine working again. When I picked it up, the MacBook powered on properly, the display looked great, the speakers were working well, and overall it was obvious that the laptop had genuinely been brought back to life. That was a huge relief. They also gave me a receipt and explained the warranty. Overall, I found them fair, technically competent, and trustworthy. I would especially like to thank Frances for being so decent and helpful through the whole thing. Liquid damage repairs are never simple, but based on my experience, IT-Tech Online are the kind of people you want handling that kind of job.

I paid extra with the guarantee it would be ready by a certain date, they did not do this (I needed it for work). I paid over $700... My advice - find out what is wrong with your computer, by the part yourself and fix it for more than half the cost and time! Or go to a local, smaller run computer business which is more invested in helping people rather than exploiting them. I think this business depends on the problem with your computer, obviously mine required a part so they couldn't fix it on the spot, so they began a ridiculous exploitation process with me. Extremely angry and unhappy with this service.
