We are first-time parents and we were a little nervous at first about leaving our daughter in a daycare, but we quickly realized that it is the best place that she could be. The kids learn so much from being in a group environment and from all the activities that the teachers offer. There are weekly activities such as piano class, yoga (cute!), dance, painting, crafts, and baby signs, making the days full of learning and exploration. She was out of school non-stop and was not napping for more than 10 minutes at school. We found Little Footprints and decided to move her there and the past three months have been AMAZING. The teachers and director are fantastic and we know our baby is loved and cared for there. The schedule at daycare has her napping a total of 3 hours a day and she has not been sick once. She absolutely loves going to daycare now and gets dropped off with a huge smile on her face and crawls right over to her teacher. If you're questioning coming here...do it. You won't regret it. :o)

Upon arrival I was unwelcomed by a foul stench of urine emanating from the kids bathroom near the front door. The owner seemed to have no control over the children in her class. She seemed high strung and overwhelmed by the amount of chaos being caused by the kids. However she has a very welcoming attitude. Another concern I had was that while she was friendly and showing me the school, she neglected her first priority- the children in the school. While the school was appealing because of the small size, the staff was more attentive to their cell phones than to the kids. The whole school seemed very dirty, and outdated. Tacky multicolored cubbies. I have chosen another school for my child, and would not recommend Footprints Preschool for anyone.

Ruth was recommended to me by a friend .Ruth has been my son's care taker since he was a baby . Ruth has help reinforce what we have been teaching at home with saying his name, colors numbers , potty training. Ruth cares for children and has given me great tips and things that I should work on at home. Ruth has been an amazing blessing to my family, very easy to communicate with and Very flexible with time . There was times when I was stuck at work , Ruth would tell me not to worry it's ok we see you when you arrive . I would arrive and Ruth would say he's ready for bed I have feed him dinner . Due to the nature of my job I have to move which has been hard on my daughter to adjust. When Alexandria first attended Little Scholars Daycare she cried when I would drop her off and would not want to interact with the other children. But within the last year - she not only gets excited about seeing her friends but wants me to take her to the library to take out more books to read. Once we complete a book I have her draw me a picture about what she enjoyed in the book. Little Scholars Daycare has really put my mind at piece with the growth I have seen in my child. Every morning, my 3 year old asks, "is it time for Ms. Laura's?" This warms my heart & makes me…read moreconfident in my daycare decision. My son (1.5 years old) runs to her when he sees her. This is my 3rd daycare and we've now been here over a year. The 2 prior daycares had their own varying degrees and points of horror, and so when searching for a new daycare, we looked long and hard. Laura immediately made me feel comfortable and is a warm and friendly person (a mom of 3 young kids herself). The daycare is clean and she is the most patient human being I have ever known. The other 2 teachers are also wonderful with my kiddos! I should also add she takes them to the park, so they always get outdoor time when weather permits, and facilitates field trips and enrichment activities throughout the year. This year she took them to the zoo, Bounce U, the Untermyer Gardens (during their garden unit), the pool, the fire house, and more. She has monthly puppet shows with an outside vendor, and parties throughout the year (for major holidays). She even had a special daycare holiday party and gift exchange where the kids performed little seasonal songs they'd been working on during circle time. As a teacher myself, schedule and routine were a big deal to me and Laura follows the Mother Goose Time curriculum. We've had units on space, the seasons, gardening, etc. She gives us a monthly newsletter that lists books we can buy to read at home with our kiddos to reinforce what they're doing during the day. She does activities that work on motor functions, including play dough and shaving cream. It's really amazing. I forgot to add this earlier, but for my daughter's birthday, we could only book her party at Bounce U on a weekday at 3pm, so Laura BROUGHT THE KIDS FROM THE DAYCARE to the party for me, so everyone could attend, and parents picked up from there instead of the daycare. The other teacher stayed back with the little ones who couldn't attend. She will come down to my car to get my kids if I am running late, I mean, it's really just above and beyond. I am actually very sad that my daughter's daycare years will be coming to an end next year and feel so bad for her that she has to transition to school and away from Laura. I am certain we found the best daycare in Yonkers. I would highly recommend her.
