I have been going here for about 4 years. My prescription was incorrect and made incorrectly, lenses reordered for the wrong frame, then the grinder broke them and then the ones that were finally given to me had the reader portion cut off the bottom. I went to a different doctor at a totally different chain and they got me done in one try. I can finally see. My daughter had a similar experience with her progressives as well. Finally, my husband went to a top surgeon in the area to see if he was a Lasik candidate and was told that he had cataracts and needed surgery and only readers thereafter. So for the last 4 years he paid the additional charge for the in depth exam and nothing. His prescription was wrong and his condition un-diagnosed. read more

Saw Dr. Higgins -obviously a woman who hates her job.... curt, unpleasant, condescending. No discussion of patient concerns with the patient - she just finds some piece of paper for you to read. One of the assistants was pretty nice, but if someone calls on the phone, they spend 10 minutes speaking to the person on the phone and patients who take the time to drive there can just sit there and wait. I won't go back. It takes a long time to get an appointment at Walkersville Eye Care and there is a reason for that- their superb customer service, kind doctors and attention to detail. You are treated as a person and a customer.. You can get into see Dr. Higgins in a day or 2- and now I know why. read more

Front office staff seem to be bothered by having to serve customers. I was due a refund and was told I would get a check from corporate in a week or two. Funny that I didn't have the option to pay in a week or two when I placed an order or after my exam. I requested to have the refund put back on my credit card. Was told they were not set up to do that. I had to express some serious concerns and then they finally put the refund back on my credit card. Terrible business practice! Over a month passed without glasses and then I threw in the towel and went someplace else to get glasses. Won't be returning to this business in the future. read more

You MUST see Dr. Stern. This is the 2nd time I have been to this location. First time, had a HORRID eye dr. (lady with brown hair) that rushed me thru the vision testing (and was very condescending...like she knew my eyes better than I did) but since all my prescripts. were already there, decided to just try a different practitioner this time. Was NOT disappointed. Dr. Stern may seem quiet, but he is thorough and BRILLIANT. He took quite a bit of time finding JUST THE RIGHT prescription...I really felt like he wanted it to be as precise as possible. He ultimately discovered something that hadn't been detected before and added a "prism" to my lense and WOW was that a big difference. Most eye docs fly thru the "which is clearer...THIS or THIS?" portion. It can be stressful, and you don't want to waste their time, but you want to let your eyes FOCUS first, before saying which looks clearer, ya know??? anyway. the staff is great, and they will pretty much beat any online contact prices. HIGHLY recommend...but ask for Dr. Stern!!! read more

Excellent staff. Everyone was very friendly and professional. The optometrist caught a potentially serious problem that a less competent doctor may have missed (it wasn't obvious and even the specialist took a while to see what the optometrist had noticed). I wish I could remember the name of the sales clerk who helped me choose the frames. She was excellent. She picked out a selection of exactly the right frames for me. I will agree with a previous reviewer about the cost. My total cost after insurance was slightly more expensive that where I had been going. However I'm satisfied with both the service and product so I feel it was worth it. In fact, I'm having my husband and sons change to here as well. read more

I was there on September 04 2018, first when I got there 2 people approached the front desk and they not even knowledge the I was there until the 3 rd. person came, the doctor and dft octor assistant were very nice. I ask one o the lady's that were in the glasses are to help me out, I was not even done asking my question when she pointed at the cabinet and told me only those glasses are covered by your insurance, then I said sorry I would like to know the price of those glasses and her response was, they are not covered by your insurance, she dint even tell me the price, and she pointed at a window saying those are $20.00 dlls. she was disrespectful,she didn't help , I just fisish with my eye exam and left is other places where they treat you better. Prior to my visit here, I had never had an eye exam outside of the cursory ones performed at my primary care. Suddenly my sight got much worse, so it was time to take the plunge. I cannot say enough good things about this office. At first I had some insurance hiccups, which they handled extremely well (props to the front desk staff, they are great!). Not only were they nice to me about the problems, but they made a few calls and did everything they could to get it resolved. As for my actual exam, I saw Molly Carren. Dr.Carren was incredibly upbeat and helpful. She was more than willing to answer my questions and made sure to find me the right prescription. The ONLY negative thing about this place is the price of the frames. They are most definitely a bit more expensive than they would be if I bought online. However, part of this is made up for by the fact that the associates have no problem letting you take your time shopping around to find the best ones. Overall a great experience. Consistently excellent service and products. Most recently I needed to be fitted for contacts as a first-time wearer for a snorkeling trip. Had no idea how the staff/practitioners would respond to my short term requirement. It was amazing - immediate grasp of my objective, multiple options explained to me thoroughly, eye exam, and left with a few test pairs that worked perfectly on the trip...all accomplished within 45 minutes, including coaching on how to put in and take out the contacts. Five stars for Dr. Adel Ibrahim at the Wormans Mill location! If I could give him 20 I would. This was by far the most enjoyable and memorable eye exam I have ever experienced. Dr. Ibrahim was warm, knowledgeable, and FUN! I left the office seeing perfectly and feeling great about meeting such a personable doctor. Tracy was amazingly attentive, and very knowledgeable. I have a very difficult time finding glasses that fit me properly but Tracy was able to find many pair for me to choose from. They have a very large selection. Another plus is that, while observing others, I noticed all of the staff seems to have been trained well. My insurance paid for an eye exam and new lenses. I made the mistake of ordering transition lenses. I tried to like them for six months. But I didn't. I went back to order new lenses without the transition. They gave me them for free. I tried to pay, but they would accept it. They only wanted me to be happy. A very fast and thorough eye exam. Way more involved and way faster than the competition.

I was not pleased with my visit yesterday. The physician asked an assistant what contacts I had been prescribed the year before. He was given incorrect information and the physician based his very brief exam of my eyes on the information he was given. I was then quickly rushed to a young lady who was suppose to sell me glasses and contacts. I asked her why they don't dilate your eyes and check them and she said they only do that for people who see spots in their eyes. I asked how would you know since no one asks you anything about your eyes. I asked several other questions that she had to go ask the physician. Finally, they figured out what contacts I had a year ago and said they couldn't adjust my prescription with these types of contacts. They quickly showed me the charges which included contact exam (They had been confused about the entire visit) and sold me a year worth of contacts like I already had. I will not return..The worst eye exam I have ever had. read more

The glasses I got from here are great! However they told us that my glasses would be here within two weeks and I waited and they never came so I called after the two week time span was over and they told me they hadn't gotten their shipment in yet for that day. So I called back after one and they said my glasses were not there and that they would be there the next day. So I called the next day same thing happened except this time, the customer service women got a little rude, I guess because I had been calling rather frequently. And then she told me that they would be there the next day and finally they were, but how are you going to be rude to me like that when I was calling because my glasses where late by almost a week. read more

Whoever figures out the bill did not take my insurance after they said they would, and I ended up paying over $1400 for one pair of progressive lenses (frames were about $200). WARNING!!!!! I went to My eye doctor in Brunswick, GA for a contact lens exam. To my surprise their fitting fee for a multi focal lens is $135.00. I was not aware of this and neither did they tell me as a new patient at the time I scheduled. I did tell them I was coming for a "multi focal lens" exam. So I went in for the exam still not knowing about this fitting fee and did get a great pair of trial lenses. At this point I was very please until I went to pay my co-pay and was told then there was a fitting fee. I was not prepared to pay that and was told I could take the contacts out of my eyes and they would void the visit. They did however give me the eye glasses prescription...I don't wear glasses!!!!. So they have billed my insurance for the eye glass exam and am not eligible for another eye exam until 01/2019. Thanks myeyedoctor for not explaining your services prior to my exam. Called customer service hoping to at least get the contact lens prescription but to no avail. They were adamant about the fitting fee but since I had the exam I should just need to go in for a fitting somewhere else...how can I do that with NO prescription!!!!! I will never go there again and I will be sure to not recommend them to anyone else either. Very disappointed in their failure to explain their pricing. read more

I had been going to Eye Express for years with no problems. When they became MyEyeDr. is when the issues started. I went last year, had my exam and ordered my 6 months supply of contacts. When I received them and used the first pair, they ripped. I thought this must be a fluke because things happen. I tried another pair, and they ripped. I called the manager and they said to discontinue using that one box and to start using the second box. When I put in the pair from the other box, one ripped and got stuck in my eye and irritated it. This time I thought I should call to make an appointment and let them know that there is a serious issue. When I called, the receptionist asked me " am I sure that I know how to wear them and put them in" I have been wearing contacts for 20 years, I think that I would know how to put them in by now! I asked for a manager and she did order me a new box. However when I went to use those, they ripped as well! I had to wear my glasses until my next appointment. March 19 I went for my eye appointment and the eye doctor stated that I had the wrong prescription from the previous eye doctor and would order me some new contacts and that they should be here in a few weeks. Then the Coronavirus hit. I called and was told that they were on back order and when I called again because I still had not received them. I was told that my contacts were in fact never ordered and that they were not sure when they would be in since everything has been closed down. I have been understanding throughout this whole ordeal however there is only so much one person can take. read more

I went for an eye exam and I thought Dr. Yaffe was great! Would definitely go back and see him again. I however did not buy my frames from them! The sales lady was NOT helpful at all. She started to just randomly pick out glasses for me to try on without looking at me to see if they were a good fit for my face or not. As I tried them on and repeatedly telling her I didn't like the ones she was giving me, she seemed to start getting annoyed so she started giving me other frames one after another to the point where I was holding about 6-7 frames altogether in both of my hands. I couldn't keep up with her, so when she tried to hand me another frame I told her I couldn't hold anymore so she just put it back. When I finished trying them all on I asked to show me one that I saw on the shelf and she immediately told me they were way too small for me and did not take them out to have me try them on. So I tried on another of "her" recommendations and I told her I actually like them she blurted out that they didn't look good on me and that the ones she had showed me earlier looked better. But I'm wondering how she would know that if she never looked at how each glasses looked on my face because she was too busy throwing glasses on my hands. I finally got tired of it and asked if I can just take the prescription with me. She said yes without any hesitation and rung me out quickly! I started wondering if she was in a rush or something. She had no patience and no personal skills. Overall her customer service sucked!!!! I took my business elsewhere. read more

Yesterday was my first visit to My Eye Dr. I don't have horrible eyesight so I've put off my eye doc checkup for about 3 years. But after getting headaches/eye strain from too much time on the computer/cell phone, I decided it was time to get a checkup. I was able to get a next-day appointment which I was happy with since the another office I was looking at wasn't accepting new patients for 1.5 months. Staff was nice enough upon my arrival. I was seen by the doctor prob 20 min after my scheduled appt time. His exam was quick, yet seemingly thorough. I really, really like that he explained everything to me.....especially the difference between vision and focus and how different lenses can fix different problems with my eyes. I'm very pleased with Dr. Yaffe. Now, after that, you can tell My Eye Dr is out to make $$. I was told I needed two pairs of glasses and by the time I browsed and found my frames I was told my total was going to be over $700. It was then I asked for my prescription so I could buy my glasses elsewhere. Only after saying that was I directed to the wall of frames that would be 100% covered by my insurance plan. I guess I'm a bit annoyed that wasn't explained/offered to me from the get go. It kind of felt like I was in a car dealership or something. Even with the insurance coverage and 1/2 off my 2nd set of glasses there was going to be a susbstantial investment made so I had to back out and only get 1 pair of glasses. So, I have mixed feelings....I love the doctor, but I hate the commercialism of the "store" part of it. Will I return? Yes, probably, but if you have VSP, before you go searching for frames, be sure to ask for the panel of frames that will be covered by insurance...otherwise you'll be paying way too much. read more
