had a haircut today. I work from home and had a meeting afterwards. the hairdresser was 20 minutes late. no one updated me. I was sitting in front by myself. when I went to back to ask, they said it happens. 20 minutes later I finally was in the chair. not a great haircut. on par with a supercuts or the like. she could see in my face I didn't like it. when someone says it's okay, it's probably not. also, I actually think my hair is uneven. it also feels rough and I've had highlights done where my hair feels soft. unfortunately it was one of my least favourite experiences.. read more

Finally decided to take the plunge and deal with my totally neglected hair. After today wish I had done it sooner. I was made welcome from the minute I walked in and it was truly a warm and fun environment. Crystal was very responsive to my appointment request and took the time to actually assess my needs. The lovely young lady who shampooed my hair was extremely sensitive to my needs, pleasant and almost made me fall asleep with her scalp massage. As for Don who styled my hair could not have asked for anymore, easy and fun to talk to and never tried to "up sell " me on products or services. He understood my hair and gave me a flattering style with easy upkeep which is exactly what I asked for. So glad this salon is right next to my house and highly recommend read more

Paid $300+ for poor service and streaky highlights. Went in for a consult before the appt. which usually you'd think you'd get a quote but no. Asked for an ombré look with no roots or streaks. Got both. Jay was rough with my hair, pulling it and jerking my head around. Not worth it. Would get a refund if I could. read more

I had been going to mynt for a couple years .. It's a gorgeous salon and everyone is super kind! My hair cuts have always been beautiful- it's just colouring is awful. I asked for ombré and came out with copper ish red something.... Barely noticeable... She told me I would have to come in and do it a couple of times to get the blond... I trusted her and came in a few months later and did it again! Same outcome- if not worse... So I immediately asked to come in to fix it... I was in tears!!! They wouldn't take me until two days later to get more toner to strip the red... They did it no charge but charged me to blow dry my hair after.....and it looked the exact same! More orange. Their answer- my hair just couldn't go that colour... So I went in again... Cause I just took their word for it... And just cut it all off... All 6/8 inches.... It was disgusting.... Ruined Months later and in need for a cut I gave up... I went to a new salon and the person did a beautiful blond ombré on the first go. My hair is super healthy and it looks amazing. I told him the situation and showed pictures... I explained what mynt told me and he said they probably didn't wrap my hair and the colour was exposed to oxygen to make my hair do that--- totally correct! She hair painted my hair, and used selo wrap to separate them.... Simple science. My hair can go blond and looks so soft and beautiful. I wish mynt had just asked someone else for help... Or like knew more about colouring... I feel like I got ripped off for two years settling for such awful colouring and then stupid for taking their word for it that my hair just couldn't do it? Great salon! I usually dread going to get my haircut because it takes so long, it's horrible small talk, and a lot of times there's an attitude that people working there have if you don't walk out with a million new products, colour, highlights and other services. I have very long hair, no colour, and just want a nice easy style without having to put products galore. From the moment I walked in everyone was welcoming and warm (they accommodated me the same day I called in for an appointment). There was no attitude, no pressure, just excellent customer service. I had Anoiis and the first thing she did was sit down next to me and very relaxed started asking me questions about how I wear my hair, my preferences etc. She explained everything she was going to do, and that she'd take it in steps to see if I wanted to have more taken off. It was incredibly refreshing that she actually listened and didn't seemed rushed at all. Anoiis did a fantastic job on my hair, everything I asked for, it feels amazing again but still has it's length. She styled it very simply, very little product (just a glossing crème I think) which is great because I never use product. When I was leaving, the receptionist from earlier in the day when I called in remembered I was coming from the other side of Toronto and made sure to wish me a safe trip home there (since it wasn't great weather). What a thoughtful touch! I've been searching for a salon for my whole adult life and I would be willing to travel for this one! I'll also be recommending it to coworkers and friends. read more

STAY AWAY FROM HERE!!! Kori Rogers is extremely unprofessional. I spent more than $1,000 with extensions and this amount covered her service of putting them on and taking them off. After 7 months I called the salon to take them off and she refused to see me, I called several times in the following months and my hair started getting knots easier and it is a mess right now. Today I went to the salon and talk to Kori who ignored me and even asked me who I was when I came in. Can you believe it? I've been there many times. She told me that she doesn't want to do the service. So I said I would pay for, and she told me that she would just cut my hair off short! Awful service! Be careful with this woman, she will destroy your hair! read more

I have been going to Mynt for about three years now. I had searched all over Oakville, Mississauga and Burlington for a hairdresser/colorist who was an expert. I like to color my hair a light blonde and have done full color but switched to highlights. I had gone through two different hairdresser's because they either moved on elsewhere or messed up my color. I finally came across Mynt Hair Studio online. On the website there is a tab labelled "Team" and that is where I found Kori. She had a really well written profile that highlighted her expertise. She stood out with a noted expertise in color especially for blonde. I can say I have never been disappointed by the results. Kori is really dedicated to getting the color right. She spends the time finding out what the client wants and carefully evaluates if it can be done. Kori is always honest and if it can't be done she will tell you. I appreciate how Kori makes my hair look. I think the biggest compliment I get is people assume my color is natural so that just tells me how good of a job Kori does. I like this salon and the staff. It is a comfortable place to go and get my hair done. If you are looking for an excellent salon and a fantastic colorist go to Mynt and see Kori. read more

I went to get a hair cut and the woman who had cut my hair cut it completely uneven and unblended. It is by far the worst haircut I have experienced. I would have enjoyed my hair cut as I like the amount she took off (on one side), and most of the staff were nice, but the problem is my cut as it is noticeably uneven. I will not be going back or would never recommend this place to a friend! It's a shame as they seem to use good products, and seems like a place with potential. read more

I've consistently had great hair cuts and colour at MYNT for it must be over 10 years. The staff are friendly and professional and seem to all like and help one another. The decor is relaxing and attractive and always clean and welcoming. I usually go to the same stylist, but when she's been on vacation I've also had good cuts from others. I've found that they ask the right questions to understand what I want, are open to feedback and offer recommendations which I've never been disappointed with. I also appreciate that they're usually on time, and call me ahead of time if unforeseen circumstances interfere with my appointment time. read more

Hi, The Mynt Hair Studio was recommended to me by a friend of mine. I have a blond curly hair and nobody in Burlington knew how to coloured or cut it. So Cecile was recommended. I came there first time in January 2014 and I was happy with her service and how she treated my hair. I thought to myself I finally found a hairdresser that I was happy with and she coloured my hair exactly how I wanted. I also thought my search for a good hairdresser was over. I found a hairdresser for life. I was sorted. So in February 2014 I came to the studio with the expectations that my hair would look good. It was very cold that day, just after the snowstorm, Cecile coloured my hair, another girl washed my hair (?), then Cecile left me sitting with the wet hair, water dripping, for 15 minutes whilst she was doing another customer's hair. She took her time with that customer, completely ignoring me like I did not exist. When Cecile finally finished chatting to her about Cecile's sister in France who was beautiful, knew how to get a guy etc, Cecile then turned to me and without apologizing for the wait told me it was my turn. Shocking. Needles to say I was furious. Who treats paying customers like that? Maybe they do it either in Portugal or France ( her origins) but this is Canada. What happened to the common curtsey or nice manners?? Plus the price they charge in the studio, top dollars for that I expected the top manners and being treated with respect. So if you like to be treated like a wallet or a plastic credit card or like a dirt on her shoes I recommend this place. read more
