I just want to give a BIG shout out and thank you to Boris at Myodetox at the CITYPLACE location! I came into Myodetox some time ago with some pain, no idea what was causing it or what was causing the discomfort I was feeling. After the initial assessment Boris was able to asses my body and see what was causing the pain. He was very informative with all his knowledge and explained to me what was causing it and the course of action we could take to help alleviate the pain which had a lot to do with tightness in the body/muscles and bad posture. In only a few visits not only was I standing taller but I was finally discomfort and pain free! Boris is very knowledgeable in Anatomy and biomechanics and the human body along with manual and movement work and will always answer any question you have in regards to what he is doing and why and trust me I had a lot of questions!. One thing that is amazing is he will always take the time to tell you what he's doing and how it will help you and benefit you and in terms the average person can understand. He will help you.Boris also showed me exercises that will help me with my range of movement or to prevent tightness and strengthen my muscles and ways to correct my posture! Myodetox is like a little family thus they also treat you the same. They truly care about your well being and will help you become a better version of you pain free! As student pursing my physiotherapy degree, I traveled all the way from Perth, Australia to seek for answers with a session at Myodetox. I have had a long history of ongoing hip issue which I have received multiple opinions from many physiotherapists here in Australia, but found no answer to my problem. The hip pain eventually lead to limitations in my functional workout routines to the point where the performance of a simple squats was sub-optimal with increasing pain. The hip pain lead to back pain which most likely affected my workouts. Not only did Boris Li solve my longstanding issue but also educated on how all my pain was related. He also took the time to break down and educate on the kinetic chain and every single joint movement involved in a squat and front squat. I heard about Myodetox from Bodmechanic in the states. Being injured for 2 years i was fed up with the treatment I was getting here back in Edmonton, or lack there of, as they rely on machines and generic exercises and do not work on you if it is muscle related. Yes, they literally say to "go get a massage" and "this is not their department"... absolutely aggravating. It was such a treat to see what actual therapy is where you actually get results and its not just a big money grab. Everyone there is so wonderful to talk to, the facility is in great condition, they can answer any question you have as they have the knowledge, the music they play is enjoyable and their all beautiful people inside and out. I've been going to Myodetox for over two years now and have never been as impressed by any physiotherapists as I am by the guys and girls here. If you want to fix your body properly, this is definitely the place to go. They have a number of super knowledgeable members on their team, and I would go so far as to call them elite-level physiotherapists. I've seen other physiotherapists in the past for injuries and have always gotten very surface level and expected treatment. At Myodetox, they evaluate the source of your problems and look to fix the actual issues and I always leave feeling 10x better than when I walk in. I've recommended them to all my family and friends and they all have nothing but great things to say about Myodetox, most of them switching over for all their physiotherapy, chiropractic, and RMT needs. They have a roster of registered physiotherapists, RMTs, and chiropractors, so using work benefits has never been an issue and has generally been super easy. I personally see Boris for all my needs, and if he's booked up, I'll ask for Joe who I feel is just as good. I haven't had experience with anyone else on the team but have spoken to Scott and Vinnie on multiple occasions and I'm 100% confident that the entire team is filled with nothing but the brightest minds. read more

Being a kinesiology student and avid lover of the human body, I came to Myodetox to get a feel for their methods of massage therapy and physiotherapy. I didn't really have any major issues but Boris Li still gave me a fantastic assessment of my body and opened my eyes up to the little things that an average person wouldn't know! Boris has been my Physiotherapist for over 3 years. I receive treatment for my back and neck primarily. It was only until Boris worked on me that I found out many of my issues related to my hips/groin due to tightness. I play sports regularly and am an active person in general. I use to have lower back problems where even walking would trigger the pain - this problem has been alleviated and I still visit Boris regularly for maintenance and checkups. I haven't been treated by the other practitioners at Myodetox, however I do know they all share their work and crafts with each other as many times they have sat in during my session to learn from Boris or show Boris other techniques. Generally speaking, I've gone to two of their locations - primarily the Cityplace one. The staff and environment is very friendly and welcoming. Been having lower back and neck problems for awhile and been searching for a qualified place that'll help fix my problem. Was recommended to come here by friends and was skeptical at first because I didn't think a little massage here and there would fix the problem but I was wrong and it was more than that. You come in thinking what the problem is and what causes it and it's a totally different thing! Not only do they fix the problem, they (Boris) also educates their clients on the actual cause and how to prevent it from happening and just things you can do to take better care of your body. Vinh and Boris are the best Pt's in the business. I started going to them last year around June and have been going ever since. I have also referred over 5-6 people including my own family members. They are the best at what they do and not only do they provide exceptional treatment. But, also are awesome people that actually care about their patients. I have had my whole body released using their unique "Myodetox" treatment and it releases all the tension in my body after days upon weeks of just continuing to beat up my body at the gym. Boris is a fantastic physio and massage therapist. The atmosphere in the studio is calming and Boris has a very positive attitude. He has a great range of massage and active release therapy techniques. During the first few minutes of my initial assessment he was able to address what was causing my knee and hamstring pain and was able to suggest advanced and efficient techniques to alleviate these issues. I would highly recommend Boris, hemakes you feel very comfortable and knows the body's anatomy very well. He found all my trigger points and knew exactly what to do to relieve the stress in my upper back and rhomboids. I have ended my search for a qualified therapist that knows what they are doing. When it was suggested to me to try Myodetox by a friend, i thought right, another massage that won't make me feel any better. So i went with no great expectations. Myodetox has done wonders for me. I've had several issues with my hips and lower back which nobody could fix and they had it fixed in few sessions!!
