My friend had a horrific makeup experience at a renowned salon in Makati just last week. We were attending a wedding that night and I completely understood the stress she was under. Nothing's more frustrating than paying a fat fee and not getting the service you asked for.
As the supportive girl friend, I offered to go with her to a nearby salon to get her makeup fixed if she wanted to. Naturally, she did, and so we went straight to Jupiter street in Makati to find a relatively cheap salon that would be able to fix her makeup.
This was how our conversation went:
Friend: Girl, san tayo pupunta? Ang mahal na nung binayad ko, parang kailangan ko ata ng place na papaya sa 300-peso makeup. Eye makeup lang naman eh.
Me: Ay! Dun tayo sa madaming bakla, kaya nila ayusin yan, sure ako.
Friend: Ay, oo tama! Yung mga nagsasagala!
Me: Korek!
And just as we got that figured out, we saw Myrna Fariñas' Salon and quickly, decided that we'll try our shot here. The salon was relatively small - none of the swanky interiors or plush couches for companions to sit on. It had about 4 or 5 salon chairs and that was that. We couldn't care less because we were running out of time and we just needed to get her eye makeup remedied, quick!
Fortunately, our theory was right! Their resident makeup artist knew what to do with my friend's chinky eyes and was able to fix it! Although there were a few misses (the falsies were too long and the lipstick looked like 90s Barbie's lips), overall we got what we wanted.
Unfortunately, though, the makeup fixing cost 900pesos. Pero nandun na eh so my friend couldn't do anything but to pay for it nalang. But all in all, mission accomplished! Yay!
PS. We found out that the makeup artist has actually done Flores de Mayo and pageant makeup. Therefore... WAGI ANG AMING TEORYA! read more
