I was gifted a pedicure a Mystique. I was expecting a great pedicure because of the quality of the spa and price but was given a 1 minute scrub on each leg in maybe a 5 minute massage? The entire pedicure lasted 50 minutes. The technician was wonderful and the nails look great but in case anyone is looking for an amazing pedicure for value, I would go somewhere else. I had THE BEST spa day! Let's start from the beginning. When I walked in everything was so clean and the welcome staff was VERY friendly! I started with an hour massage with Julia. She listened to my concerns and provided a wonderful relaxing massage. Then I had a pedicure by Taylor! She was extremely professional and gentle. Saved the best for last! My facial by Katee! By far the BEST facial I have ever had. I picked the Rejuvenated Facial and boy was I at the end! Katee is gentle but thorough! I have traveled the world and received massages just about everywhere I've traveled. Since returning to the US finding a good quality therapeutic deep tissue massage has been difficult. If you have injuries and past surgeries justa normal relaxation massage is kind of a let down. If you looking for a little something extra Amber is your lady! It has been about a week with my new haircut, and I hate to admit it.. I just really don't like it. The more and more I look at it, the more I realize it was not what I asked for. It's a decent cut, but I hate that I paid $39+20% tip for something so basic and that I am not happy with. I thought if my hairdresser styled it for me, I would like it more but I did not. I think the main problem is that the consultation was not very thorough. I gave a brief description when I sat down, asked questions during the cut, but I don't think my hairdresser was ever on the same page as me even though I brought a photo as a reference. I also think that she may not have had the skills to execute what I was asking for - not a lot of techniques were used. The service and salon were excellent. So cute and unique. However, I have had $60 haircuts before, and to me the haircut I got was not salon-quality. The other hairdressers may be beautiful artists, but that is not what I experienced during my visit. read more

I wish I could give this a lower rating. Went in for a lash lift (I have gotten MANY over the past five years). There were two people doing my lashes. I thought everything was going well but then when they said they were done there was still glue left all over my lashes. I refused to leave with glue on my lashes. They took another 10 minutes scrubbing my lashes to the point where my eyes were raw and the lift didn't take. I will never go back for a lash lift again. I will give it another try for a different service though because I hear great things. I truly just think the people were inexperienced. read more

The people who recommended this place were spot on. I had one my best spa experience (ever) here. Mystic Edge is a beautiful, clean, professional environment with more service options than the average day spa. In addition to providing quality services, they have many special touches that set them apart. I had a pedicure and bikini wax here. Both were great. Now, the pedicure was one of the best I have experienced. Sometimes when you get a pedicure, your feet only feel super smooth until the lotion is fully absorbed. Not this time, I am still touching the heel of my feet because I am so impressed. The wax was very thorough and no irritation. I got a pedicure today. The environment was very nice, the spa area was very relaxing. I am not terribly happy with the results of my pedicure, however. The ridges were not smoothed out of my nails and my heels were not really exfoliated at all. (Still rather rough, the reason I went for a pedi in the first place) The massage chair was nice, and I would like to try maybe their massage or hair services, but probably won't be getting a pedi there again. I am a travel nurse here a so I want to be pampered and cared for as my patients expect from me.my facial was more of a massage than a facial. I was not impressed at all. It began by washing my face then a massage while the steam was on my face. Usually there is a masque on my face when this is done there was not a mask. Also the person who did the facial showed up at 1210 for a 12 o'clock facial and I got outta there at 1250 so a 60 Minute facial I paid for was 40 minutes. I paid for a facial nOt a massage. After the steam there was one mask then more massage then another massage on my face then moisturizer. I get facials pretty frequently and haven't had one this bad in a while. I scheduled a mani pedi with hesitation. There isnt too much of a choIce around here so I hoped for the best and expected the worst. The pedicure was a massage alSo I am on My feet 48 hours a week. They take a beating pounding the floor. They are dry and callouses and after the pedicure they stilll are dry and calloused. The manicure was alSo awful. She did not remove the polish I had on my naIls. The filing is like a child did it. Not one nail is evenly fIled. My hands take a beating with the soap and hand sanitizer I use at the hospital and the skin is peeling of of my hands. It cracks my cuticles And it still is. Luckily the services are cheap here so all came to a few hours of work. But I wasted time getting my services here. I just hope that the next place I choose is better than this or it will be a long assignment. Also the products they use are not organic. read more

I'm a nail spa owner in Denver and have an insider perspective when it comes to salons & Mystique Edge is excellent. They are following all regulations (thoroughly disinfecting & sanitizing all tools, work stations etc) so I always feel safe here. My mom lives in Rapid City so I buy her gift cards here for all occasions & she is always pleased with her massages, facials, manis & pedis. Professional staff who appear to truly love their jobs. I absolutely LOVE this spa! I'm visiting my sister from out of town. It was her 30th birthday, so I decided to treat her to the Pure Heaven package, which includes a massage, facial, and mani/pedi. The entire staff was very professional and helpful, and we didn't feel rushed between services. Also, we got to sit in the sauna for a while afterwards and were offered complimentary tea, water and coffee and were also offered different kinds of wines, beers and cocktails for a small fee. The pricing is very reasonable for the quality of the service, and the experience is excellent every time. The masseuse that did my massage did fine, but I would have appreciated it if she would have actually worked on the areas that she had asked me about at the beginning of my massage. Since I had a 90 minute session, she should have had plenty of time to be thorough. Won't be returning anytime soon. We were very excited about coming to Mystique Edge. I was going to get a hair cut and style while my daughter and her friend wanted more advanced coloring. I scheduled the teenagers for color removal, color and intense conditioning. The atmosphere was spot on and the introductions went really well but then both girls were told that they couldn't do with their hair what they wanted. My daughter wanted her long hair hombre with silver tips. She was told she was unrealistic and to do an all-over color with highlights. She was a bit taken back but the stylist was so agreeable she went with it. The color was supposed to be dark purple but it looks like regular brown with zero highlights - a completely flat color. Meanwhile another girl a few chairs down got a beautiful hombre dye in the same allotted time we were there. There were no scheduled appointments after us. My daughter's friend is African American and does a great deal of coloring of her hair. She wanted some shade of pink with a little color removal to even out the roots. Her stylist looked at her hair and said 'absolutely not' and made complaints about her hair being over processes and the only thing she was willing to do was color removal. This teenager was put through multiple color removal processes to the point where it was burning her skin and the stylist had chemical burns on her hands. Two days later her hair started falling out. She never did get colored. While this was happening I spoke to a stylist that was in charge of the floor and expressed my concerns about the girls not getting what they had asked for and what we had scheduled for. She said that the schedule didn't reflect the time that would be needed to achieve what the girls wanted. I told her what we had scheduled for - the color removal, color and deep conditioning and she said 'sorry'. That was it. I did find out that the girl whose hair is falling out 5 days before prom was offered some conditioner product for free because of the damage to her hair. read more

My boyfriend scheduled a massage for me here...it was seriously the best. The place doesn't look that nice from the outside, but when you walk in, it is so cute, nicely decorated, calming and spacious. We walked over to the spa side, which is separated from the salon. There is a waiting room, with comfortable couches and cool water that you can help yourself to. The massage itself was great! The warm towels they put on your feet while you are receiving the massage and at the end of the massage, was the perfect touch! I left feeling so relaxed and at ease. I moved out of Rapid about two years ago, and I very much miss this spa. I have always had good experiences here from pedis/manis, to haircuts, to massages. I moved to vegas where there are plenty of spas out there, but I still miss this one. The massage rooms were some of the nicest I've experienced and the people there are so friendly, it's clean and the atmosphere is nice and relaxing. I usually got appointments within a responsible time of requesting one. It's been awhile, so I can't remember the names of all the technicians I've met with, but I love this spa. I was queen for a day at Mystique Edge. From the front desk escorts to the qualified therapists and technicians, I was treated like royalty. The massage was heaven sent done by the knowledgable Julia who also knew the techiques of lomi lomi. The nail tech ,Rachel, did a pedicure and manicure while I was served a nutritious snack with wine by spa owner Lori. The soft robes and coverlets next to my skin were softer than clouds. The sauna was a heated pleasure preceding my massage and warming me up from below zero temps. I will be back. read more

Officially the worst haircut I have EVER had! I was really nervous about getting my haircut at Mystique Edge in Rapid City - I've heard some horror stories about other's experiences - but my usual stylist at my usual salon across town was booked solid for weeks ahead. Since I had a gift certificate for services at Mystique Edge, I thought I might as well use it. I talked to my regular stylist who completely understood my situation and gave me help with terminology, etc to make sure I could give the Mystique Edge stylist the right information to give me the right cut. I even took the same pictures I had originally used with my regular stylist which show various angles of the same cut. A few minutes after I arrived, my stylist Krystal came bustling out of the back room, greeting me with a frown and asked "are you ready?" in a tone that suggested I was inconveniencing her in some way. At her station, I showed her the pictures I had brought with me, explaining this was the style I had worn for the past couple years and wanted to stick with it. Krystal argued with me at every turn and about every point I tried to make. When I tried to explain how my hair handles certain techniques or what really works well with my hair, she argued with me some more, telling me that "Pictures are all fine and good, but your hair may not do what the pictures looks like". Once again, I explained that these pictures represented the style that I have successfully worn for the past two years and currently wear today so she could probably just follow the line of the existing hair cut. I showed her exactly how long I wanted my hair to be at the back, sides and bangs. Krystal was heavy handed (rough), rude, argumentative and condescending to me from the moment I sat down at her station. A friend accompanied my to my appointment and later told me that she was shocked at how rude Krystal was to me. I should have just gotten up and walked out, but I didn't. Short story long, I ended up with a haircut that in no way resembled what I walked in with or any of the pictures I showed her. Instead, I ended up with hair so short it can't even be styled. There are gouges and missing chunks that even my husband can see. Another friend commented that it was the worst haircut she had ever seen me in. My daughter started crying when she saw it. My original stylist squeezed me in for an emergency rescue and was appalled at what she saw. Unfortunately, my hair is now so short that it will be months before it's long enough to be fixed. Overall, this was a terrible experience from start to finish. My stylist was rude to me and ruined a great hairstyle that I've enjoyed wearing for two years. While I can't speak to the skill set of the other stylists, my experience with Krystal has scared me away from this salon. Gift certificate or not, it just wasn't worth it. read more

I am not impressed with Rhonda at Mystique Edge, as my bangs are an inch and a half shorter than I requested. Her response: "They are only about at inch shorter than you wanted!" Holding back tears I was then asked "Are we done now?" She then proceeded to march up to the counter and tell them to charge me for a cut and style (no style was completed). I was then charged full price despite the fact I hate my hair and can not find any way to wear it that looks presentable. As a 24 year old that is thought to be in high school, I am horrified to now look an awkward 12 with bangs that hang in my eyes, as they can not reach my cheekbone where they normally lay. Sadly, I have had Rhonda twice in the past and been happy with my results (just a trim). But the results I received this week left my extremely upset and the response I received made a horrible occurrence even worse. I will not be returning to Mystique Edge. read more
