The train station here (as opposed to the metro) is so lovely and nostalgic and super affordable and useful and efficient and green and great. There's not a lot of warm indoor space to wait if you're waiting for the train, you mostly sit in these covered boxes that are open in the front to the wind and weather, or you line the stairs and get blown over by the crazy wind tunnel that happens when you open the doors. Getting off the train and onto the metro is smooth and then you can sit on these tiny strange uncomfortable seats in perfect 60s colours and head off on the orange line. This is also the stop to jump on the 105 bus that'll take you all the way through NDG along Sherbrooke street, which is a fun ride full of delicious food and great local businesses so if you're looking for a weird, low key MTL adventure, you could do worse!!

Since the Montreal Canadiens moved to the Bell Center, this area has went downhill and is becoming a poor area of the city. The metro, which had originally three exits, now only has one. The Dawson exit, and the Ste-Catherine exit, are permanently closed off. The only existing exit is through the Plaza Alexis-Nihon complex, which can be a puzzle to find the street. Down at the station, you will find it pretty dark, and pretty small. Which means it could get congested pretty quickly. Luckily, few people actually get out at this station now, so you do not have to worry about that. This metro station lost it's glory with time.

Pie-IX station is located in the borough of Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve today, it not only serves the Olympic Stadium and the Olympic Park, but it is also the stop for the Botanical Gardens, Olympic Park, the Biodome, the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium, le Château Dufresne - Musée des arts décoratifs de Montréal, le Collège de Maisonneuve and the Olympic Village. Every year I come, there's a lot of construction in the area, it's non stop....it's been like that for more than 7-8 years....
