I simply adore their burgers along with their generous serving of pommes with a thick douse of mayo! I try to visit the place once a week, and absolutely love it. The staff are nice, and the entire place has a nice old school hip feel to it.

I was staying in the hotel right next to here, so on cold nights, it was such a relief to finish up my training and duck into Jim Block's to grab a carry out burger. The first night I went, I made the mistake of getting a BBQ burger. The BBQ sauce was less than pleasant and I welcome all Germans to swing over to the US sometime to try a taste of our BBQ, because you won't want to go back ;-). The fries I had were tasty and I appreciated that they offered mayo and ketchup in easy little plastic packs. The 2nd night, having learned my lesson, I got an ordinary cheeseburger which was quite good. I also go a baked potato instead of fries and that was outstanding. Hot, salty, soft, and served with an ample side of sour cream, this really hit the spot on a cold night! I would definitely come back to Jim Block again for dinner in Hamburg!
