Amaretto & Almond and Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream
    I-Lin L.

Mint Chocolate Chip was my favorite flavor back in the States, but thanks to this shop, now I have a new fav-- Amaretto & Almond! It's fresh, sweet, creamy, and delicious. Not sure if I could really taste the Amaretto alcohol, but it should be kind of light, anyway. The guy at the counter was really generous with the samples and even sampled some ice cream with us. Although the shop enticed me with the heavenly scent of fresh-baked waffle cones, we took our ice creams down by the lake to enjoy while watching the swans and sunset over Zürich.

Pricey ice cream but it's worth the splurge. We paid ~15 francs for 4 scoops of ice cream in 2 cups. The people are super friendly and willing to speak English to me. Most of the menu is in English so if you're a tourist like me you'll be fine. I definitely recommend Swiss chocolate, it is my new favorite! If you sit down and order from a waiter, the price is slightly more expensive, you've been warned. We just grab them and ate on a train.

LOVE this place!!! The ice cream is pretty incredible. My husband and I come here and get our fix at least once a week. We usually sit at an outside table to soak up the warm weather and people watch (worth the slightly higher price of table service). Most of the flavors are delicious but my absolute favorite is the Swiss Chocolate and Marco's is the Stracciatella. The pear flavor is super yummy as well as the raspberry, maple walnut, and rum raisin. Their coffees are not bad either, comes with a small square of chocolate on the side with the Movenpick logo on it. No matter which flavors I choose, my most favorite part of the ice cream cone is the last bite where the tip of the cone is filled with the soft slightly melted ice cream that partially soaked into the inside wall of the cone. When I take that last bite everything else seem to fade away for just a few moments.....mmm...life is sweet!

Mint chocolate ice cream - heavenly!

Mövenpick is switzerland's pride and joy. They have seriously the best ice cream you could taste, and even though it is really pricey, it is not overpriced. It just is that good and worth every penny. My favorites are their cream based ice creams, Especially the maple walnut and the mint chocolate are absolutely impeccable. I gotta trytheir white chocolate one too... It i right at bellevueplatz so it i easy to get there, however, it is quite popular so calculate some waiting time into your schedule. Take a tram to bellevue or stadelhofen or opernhaus. In my opinion, it is better than the ones you can buy at your grocery store, it isnt frozen down like that so the flavors are much more colourful... I dont know how to describe it properly, it is so good. I usually dont like cornets either, but they just have the best ones (well they are a little flakey... Aka messy) You gotta try moevenpick when in zurich!!!!!

Great place! Ordered a waffle sundae and it was amazing! Had a lot of really good sounding options on menu. Wish I could have gone back.

    Caramelita und Swiss chocolate

Nomnomnom. The ice cream is amazing. I am very simplistic when it comes to ice cream, I don't like a lot of stuff in it, but the Swiss Chocolate with the little shavings of chocolate inside is just beyond me... so unbelievably good. mmm. Service is never too friendly and the ice cream will cost you a pretty penny. :( The cost goes up if you eat there, even if it is on the patio, so take it togo if the weather allows and go sit by the lake!

There were lots of ice cream flavors and options. We enjoyed a sundae with 3 flavors: Swiss chocolate, blueberry cheesecake (this was our fave!), and salted caramel. Also the menu was in English so there was no issues for tourists. Definitely would recommend trying this place!

    Tonight's line.

We came from California and it's safe to say this ice cream is better than anything we have by far!

They are open until 11 p.m. so was perfect stop for late evening treat. Good selection of flavors, quick service, and busy.

Not the best choice for families to take a sest. Tables and chairs dirty. Iced machiato tastes like crap. Plenty of smokers.

As it was our first time eating raclette, we asked our server to walk us through the menu. Lily was exceedingly helpful in explaining the differences in cheeses and their flavors, and she was also very attentive and checked in on us throughout the meal. I noticed that her welcoming demeanor was also shared by her colleagues who were waiting on the other tables around us. My family took Lily up on her recommendations, and we ordering one Klara and one Willi, each with a side of sausages, as well as one original tarte flambé and one vegi tarte flambée. The food was all very delicious!! My personal highlights from the meal were the sausage dipped in the Willi cheese along with the onions and potatoes that were served with the dish. The tartes also had very thin, yummy crusts topped with raclette cheese. The side of pickles provided a tangy contrast to the rest of the meal which I liked. We ended our meal with a warm chocolate cake and lemon sorbet. I'm not really one for alcohol, so I found the vodka in the sorbet to be a bit too strong for me. However, the chocolate cake with the jam and vanilla ice cream was very good and had just the right amount of chewiness. I wish that I could replace my local Cheesecake Factory with a Raclette Factory instead so that I could enjoy Swiss cheese melted over bread, sausages, and potatoes all the time. Oh well, perhaps it's just another excuse to visit Switzerland again one day :)

All of our food was delicious, but I will say that the garlic bread is SUPER garlicky so depends on how much you like garlic and want to smell like garlic for the rest of your day.

I was meeting 2 very good Swiss German friends from Zurich -- one a manager of major flagship retail store on Bahnhofstrasse for 20 years the other a Zurich politician and lawyer. We arrived, it was empty outside -- we gathered 3 tables as there was no one outside to assist. A woman came out (perhaps under the influence) and was extremely rude and demanded that we need to go into the empty bar (inside) ask her permission as she is the boss (she is not) and then assemble the tables. I again -- looked around at the empty outside area and said again in English and in German that we are 8 people (not knowing if she spoke German) and where would she like us to sit? She looked around at the empty tables again -- said she is the boss and demanded she must be informed. I again said, ok we'd please like a table for 7 people where would you like us to sit here outside -- there were several empty tables. She rolled her eyes, huffed and walked inside. We sat for about 15 min... unattended. I walked into the (empty) bar inside and said in German to her (she was behind the bar with younger man that worked there) we'd like to order 3 beers, a water and a coke. She laughed at me. I said what is so funny? She said, "your comical accent" in German. I then looked at the other bar back and said, "May I please order 3 beers a coke and a mineral water?" He was very nice and lovely. My 2 other fiends met me and ordered champagne -- we had a lovely time. I went inside to pay the bill and left the man a 10 CHF tip on 90 CHF (service is included in Switzerland - but I like to give extra to be nice) and asked him if we should place the tables back where they were. He said absolutely not -- that he would do it. I will never go back. Funny, I know the owner of this cafe. And, the behaviour was super strange from this very frustrated, woman employee. I would have left in the beginning had I not agreed with my Swiss friends to meet there.

I came here to enjoy a good book and cappuccino by myself. I can't comment on the food as I didn't get anything to eat from the menu. The cappuccino was rich and velvety with a decent layer of foam. Just how I like it! This is a great place to enjoy the weather and just people-watch. The staff members aren't overbearing at all. My waitress was a friendly lady, who was helpful and also gave me space.
