It's a little pricier for nail services but it's a very clean and quiet experience. They don't have massage chairs for the pedicures but the seats are cushiony. The seats where you get manicures are high bar stools and not that comfy. Just beware if you have issues with high stools and you're getting a long manicure. I'd come here again! read more

I went for a gel manicure fill and fix. It took about an hour and a half, if not more and I asked for straight nail file. While the girl who was working was nice, she wanted to file my nails into a different shape, which she did for some nails... Not cool! I asked her to please make them thin and she put one coat of gel. It looked like nail polish. When I asked her to put a little more (I wanted thin, but not one coat!), she proceeded to add five times the amount of gel... I was a bit surprised but then it took a while to file all that down. In the end, nails looked nice but then they hit me with the price: $55 plus $40 for the 4 nails I had to fix.... $10 for a nail tip??? Holy cow!!! And 3 days later, those nail tips fell off as if they were stick-ons :( This has never happened before with tips from a salon. This is a really nice salon but the quality lacks. Was so excited to find a nail place close to home but was disappointed on the quality of service. The decor of the place is very chic and clean (no chemical smells). I got a regular mani ($25). The girl rushed through doing my nails, and as my nails were drying, she was buffing her own nails. She actually smudged my nail when she came to check on dryness so had to redo my thumb. NBar is super sanitary and very clean! During COVID I was super scared to even think about going to nail salon but they are VERY clean and VERY strict with their rules which were comforting to see. I did a Bio-Gel overlay and a pedicure with Shellac (to match my nails) and I have to say the environment was warm and welcoming and lovely. I truly did enjoy it, its close to my home and the service was amazing. However, the Bio-Gel on my nails is starting to peel off just after 8 days and the application of my Bio-Gel is very thick and chunky. I would love to come here again because I did have a wonderful experience but I don't think it's worth paying what I did just to have my BioGel start to peel and look thick and uneven. My Pedicure, however, looks amazing and still is amazing so I would say their Shellac is really good but Bio-Gel not so much! read more

I've been to a couple of places in the city (i.e. Elmwood, Pinky's, Hammam Spa, some recommended places on Queen, etc.) as well as on cruises, for deals...basically all across the spectrum for nails. This is the second place I tried for lashes after my first with Lust for Lashes. Location: Super convenient if you live in Cityplace neighbourhood. Not hard to get to if you take a streetcar. Near diverse food options (patio brunch, healthy stuff at Hopscotch, sushi, ramen, bubble tea, cafe). Venue: Very clean, bright, a bit lacking in waiting area, but staff improvise (based on multiple visits). Played Friends on Netflix last time i was there. Staff: Super friendly, easy to have conversation (or no conversation if you just want to be pampered and rest). Reservations: Easiest done online (simple and dummy-free system). Could call too. Nail Experience: I'm no nail connoisseur and usually get the regular manicure but the equipment used was clean, the experience was very relaxing and appropriate questions were asked regarding what I wanted for my nails. The staff have checked as they went to make sure I had the shape I liked. There were no issues with bubbling or streaking, but had complete confidence it would be fixed if it occurred. Nails turned out fantastic and lasted awhile (especially pedicure). Cost-wise, you get what you pay for (in a good way). I felt N Bar does a very quality job. It's by no means on the cheaper part of the spectrum, but not super like Hammam (I prefer N Bar over Hammam/Elmwood for a more semi-regular pampering mani-pedi.....if cost is an issue [ maybe $5-8 more average over the cheaper options], you can find more economical options nearby, but less of an experience). You get a coffee/tea upon arrival. A very nice leg/foot massage if you're doing a regular pedicure. Whenever I voiced any concerns about rough feet, they took extra care to remove the roughness aka dead skin/callus. Always a fun experience if you want to go to N Bar with friends (they do their best to figure out a good time for you if you call in). Lash Experience: I was a regular for awhile (i've put a pause temporarily for personal financial reasons), but I loved the results. Room is bright and staff made sure I was comfortable (because hey, when you've got stickers beneath your eye, not exactly cloud nine anywhere). I swear by Aoife Power, she's my girl for lashes. There was one time that I had another staff, which was well enough, but at the time, it was a bit rushed and the lashes fell out a bit too quickly (I called in to raise my concern and they fixed it in another session at no charge, amazing! A/N: Aoife did the job). Takes about 2hrs and a bit to get a full set. Less expensive for a full set than other places (like Lust for Lashes, which has partial bespoke options), but super satisfied with the results. Would definitely be back in the future. read more

So, here is my intake. Salon is clean and very friendly staff. Also staff is constantly cleaning up and using new filers on mani and pedi. Girls disinfected tools right in front of me. It's more pricy than other salons, but it's an experience that you can't receive in any other cheap salons. They do take their time doing the job, and in the end it's worth it. This is the worst nail bar EVER. I would rate it a zero star if I could. Payed $90 for a gel set and the day I got home two nails broke. Next day another nail broke. I called them and they kindly said they would fix it. Can I also mention the shape was not coffin. My 5 year old nephew could do a better job. I should have known better then to go back but I figured I would give it another try. This time the shape was better but still not very good. Yay! A shiny new set! Go home and a day later it broke. I understand if i worked in a career where I heavily use my hands BUT I DON'T. I went back for the third time, dreading wasting my time yet again but thought one more shot. I just got home and another nail broke. DO NOT GO HERE! While I appreciate them fixing my nails the amount of wasted time and energy was not worth it and my hands still look like shit. I decided to try N Bar because of it's proximity to my home and I always love to support new and local businesses. I ended up getting shellac done on my natural nails one week ago. I have my nails done regularly with shellac, however, 3 to 4 days later I noticed that the top coat started staining. This has never happened before. I contacted N Bar one week after my shellac colour service to explain my situation, they also said that they've never had this happen before. At first, a rep from N Bar asked if I was able to come the next day. I sent them a photo, however within the same hour, I was told that they do not fix nails after 48 hours. I've had shellac done at other nails bars and they would always last 3 to 4 weeks without any issues, so I question the authenticity of the products being used. I asked if I could at least get the shellac removed, but I did not receive a response. I ended up going to another local nail bar who graciously offered to remove and reapply my shellac colour. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this nail bar. read more
