Staff (MacKayla) was super welcoming and got me seated on the sunny deck overlooking the Marina (Hence Dockside) I was the only one here at the time, it was very nice. I returned the next day with my wife for lunch. Today it was much busier, but we got a table at the rail overlooking the lake. Expecting "tourist grade food" we ordered the nachos and margarita's (In memory of Jimmy Buffet who had just passed away that day) We are margarita snobs and these were excellent. Perfect mix of tequila, fresh lime juice and simple syrup. The right kind of tart. Nacho's were a delightful surprise too, each chip caked with chicken, beans and nacho cheese. Super tasty pickled jalapeno's on the side added some kick. Again, staff were super personable, bartender (Ashley) was great. A very un-touristy experience, more like a local bar. All 3 of our guides, Nikola, Lauren, Jake (cheeks!), became legends in our memories. All 3 made the trip worth every minute from the food, to the camp setups, the games, side adventures, and the company. This river is very beautifully scenic. The cold water makes the hot summer temps completely tolerable. And the chance to float rapid with only a PFD is so memorable. We highly recommend DRA! Big Eddy Thriller: The ride was short and sweet! The whole thing is dialed in, these folks know…read moreexactly what they're doin. They start on time, so don't mess around and miss the bus (though not sure they'd leave anyone, it's a friendly place). Mikie communicated expectations well from the jump and got us to and from safely. Trevor was a great raft guide, clearly loves what he does, and as far as I could tell, does it well. Would row for him again for sure. Rode a raft with a family my partner and I didn't know, it was a good time all around. Will probably hit up another tour next summer for fun, was worth it. Tips? Kinda? You could easily hit this and another outing in one day. Set your timing right and you could ride and then raft, this is certainly a good time but it doesn't take long door to door. If you care about pics sit in the front. If you're worried about rowing, don't sit on the right for big eddy (the guide will likely seat folks for safety and row power anyhow). Not sure I need to say this but I will, there isn't a dry seat on the raft. The road to the spot is bumpy, sit toward the front if that bothers you. If your kids not taller than an oar, they likely won't get one. There are two spots you'll be offered to jump in.

Well organized prep and pickup in Sunriver, in the main village behind the Sunriver Country Store. Our guide, Lanny was lovely and kept us safe while also ensuring our group ranging from ages 7-50 had a great time. Only real feedback has to do with the to/from transportation and driver sales pitch. School bus to the put in added a lot of extra time to the overall trip which made the short time on the river feel even shorter. And while Roberto our driver was lovely, the sales pitch for other trips that Sun Country offers prior to heading back to the main office felt very sales-y and drawn out. These guys can't help how the river and rapids are set up but they could be more efficient with time overall. My kids definitely had a blast and have been bitten by the whitewater rafting bug. Thanks to Lanny for a great time on the water!

Dan (the owner) arranged an "off the books" trip for us when other rafting companies would not, because of the time of year (October). Our guides Lauren and Greg were awesome -- Lauren was our in-boat guide, and Greg was our host who went ahead and set up camp for us. Everything was spectacular, and the food was amazing! We even had fresh-caught tuna for one of the meals, as well as delicious steak for dinner and eggs and bacon for breakfast. I was joking with my buddies that the food we had while camping was better than the meals we'd had in town the days before and after! A truly inspiring experience, I highly recommend camping overnight at least one day to really get to see the dark skies at night and take your time. There was also enough splash and rapids (only class 2-3) to make it fun without being too intense for those afraid of water or with little experience.

They did everything to make this trip a memorable experience. All you need to do is make sure you follow their advice on what to bring with you such as water and sunscreen; simple and straightforward. A 2. Understanding the customer: Travis was very much attuned to how much "adventure" we wanted as a group. This was the first time rafting for several of us. Travis was great; he knew just the right amount of white water we could handle. A+ 3. The River: Holy smokes is it beautiful. A+++++ 4. Other: Travis is a wealth of knowledge. Not only do you get the white water experience but you also get his incredibly informative insights into the geology of the area, the history of the town and his keen eye to identifying all the wildlife on the river.
