Going to a bar in Delft has revealed to me much more nice and interesting than going to a bar in Amsterdam. Mostly because since Delft is smaller, is waaay less crowded than Amsterdam. Then, you can actually meet some locals at the bars and have a nice conversation with them.
In this spirit, Joffer Cafe is my main spot for the last couple of days. They serve no food and have several choices of beers... four or five on the tap and a huge amount on the bottle.
The waiter that attended me was very friendly, explaining to me the beers I did not knew and the Dutch ones. Also, he ended up playing some dice game with me and some other guys at the bar (don't know what was happening, but I won a free round of beer, so it was good). They have a good free wi-fi and two or three seats at the front, outdoor.
Solid bar, nothing out-of-this world, but plenty of beer options and a friendly, more local atmosphere... and that's already enough in a bar to capture me! read more
