Fellow Yelper Megan S. and I had a lunch date today and we were actually planning to go to Misho, but after discovering that they are on vacation, we had to find an alternative lunch location so we decided to try Nagoya.
The place is on the smaller side with about 8 tables, but also has a sushi conveyer belt with about a dozen bar stools.
Since we came at 12.15 pm, we were able to take advantage of the lunch special:
4 plates from the conveyer belt, salad and miso soup for 9,90 €.
This is a good deal in general, but has one catch: All 4 plates need to be of a different color.
If you eat all kinds of sushi, then you won't be bothered by that.
However, if you are like me and pretty much only eat sushi items including salmon and tuna, then you will run into an issue since these all of these plates seem to be color coded in yellow and light yellow.
Therefore, I ended up eating only 3 plates which was still totally fine in terms of the portion size though since the individual sushi pieces are quite generous. So no harm done here.
The sushi was pretty good - the Shake Avo maki were my favorite.
The service was very friendly.
Megan and I spent quite some time here, but never felt rushed. The staff seemed completely fine with us hanging out between 'courses'.
In the end, we even got a small complimentary dessert (Creme Brûlée) when we ordered the bill.
Not sure if I will come back for lunch, but I am still interested to try their Spicy Tuna roll eventually. read more
