Of course we were encouraged to bring snacks and whatnot because when you get to the island, you won't be able to buy anymore since there are no tindahans, there wasn't even a cellphone signal. It was one of the best and cheapest trips I've been to. At that time Anawangin wasn't full of people and it wasn't offered as a promo on the group buy sites. It gave me the chance to actually sleep in a tent, cook my own food, gather around a bonfire and live a full day without the comfort of technology. The view was spectacular, and the experience was awesome. It'd really give you a chance to bond with the group and appreciate the simple things.

A weekend escape from the trudge of modernity is always a great way to relax and unwind, and trailblazers are always finding new places to pitch a tent. Over the past decade, Anawangin Cove has become one of the most popular camping spots close to Manila. Only a 5 hour drive away, the cove is surrounded by hills with an interesting feature: pine trees. While they aren't quite the Temperate variety, the back end of the beach is littered with pencil pines. The rustling of the needles creates a very soft white noise, and the place remains peaceful even with the presence of a large amount of campers. The beach is great too; wide enough for a good game of frisbee or beach football. We stayed here overnight and even barbequed our own steaks, and we couldn't help but notice eyes leering at us with envy. Fortunately, they were only envious campers and not smarter-than-your-average-bears.

One of the filthiest beach area I have ever been to, especially after a weekend. Trash on shores and local dogs walking and pooping on the beach. I walked from Blue Rock Resort to the end and the sight of trash is unbearable. A lot of expats in baloy beach. You can see old (60s) American and European men marrying or dating young 20 year old Filipinas (Merely an observation, not judging). I would NOT return to baloy beach nor recommend this place to any of fellow yelpers.

The journey to this place is abt a 3hr drive from Manila. We had advance reservations made and when we arrived we were greeted very warmly with amazing hospitality from the staff. The surroundings is beautiful and breathtaking. The property itself is massive. I love how it is rich in history, culture and architectures that has been preserved through the years and very well maintained. They have put so much thought and planning to this place and it is impressive. We enjoyed our tour, stay and dinning to the fullest! I cannot even explain how wonderful our experience here enough. Surrounded by ocean,manmade lake and near mountains this place is indeed breath taking. Day tour and overnight stay is available those old houses some of them were converted to a hotel. Most ground floor of most houses are air conditioned and you never run out of things to do,billiard etc body masaage is available as well. Washroom were all immaculately clean. There's souvenir shops,bar etc . Designated smoking area as well,pet friendly except some spots.Catholic church can be found inside the premises. This place is pretty much nickeling and diming you for using the amenities. Wi-fi signal only reaches the pool and beach area (no signal in the villas). The pool and the beach were nice, but being charged for using what I've mentioned is petty. I would never stay here again; this is the first and last time I'd stay here. I've stayed in other Ayala developments (Seda Lio in El Nido, Palawan), but they didn't charge us for the gym and poolside towels. Please consider this review.

Before it was called Good Karma, this resort was called the Pit Bowl. This is because prior to being a half pipe, it used to be a skate bowl. The owner, DK, also has a cute little pitbull-American bulldog mix, so that's where the name partly came from. It's a great little place that's perfect for backpackers who really don't mind roughing it. I say this because there are two outdoor bathrooms, and one has a broken lock that needs to be tied up. Also, at night, frogs tend to congregate outside the bathroom door, so if you're not into that, maybe stay at other hostels in the area. It's within walking distance of the beach and Mommy Phoebe's cafeteria, so you won't have trouble finding food.
