When working or traveling near Heidelberg, this place tends to cost me a lot of money. I'm not so…read moremuch the fan, but my wife is. Between this and the gummis shops, she makes me bring an extra suitcase just to go shopping here. Even as someone who doesn't care for absinthe, this shop is pretty damned impressive. I have to imagine that if you actually liked absinthe, this place would be heaven on earth to you.

We stopped in here primarily because we had run out of water and needed to get a few bottles for the rest of the day and the evening. When you walk in the first thing you'll notice is how cramped it is. Imagine a bodega in New York City, but then imagine they cramp two bodegas into the space of one and that's how tight this place is. There is definitely a lot of food, snacks, etc. to choose from but that's about where the positives stop. After hunting for some water we had a hard time even maneuvering back through to the cold case because it was so tight with people. Overall we got what we came for, but it was not a pleasant experience, and it was pretty dirty overall too. This place exists for convenience and convenience alone. If you aren't in need of something it might be worth the wait to find something easier to navigate.

And you can find almost everything. They also have a bottle recycle machine which allows you to get the cash or instantly donate your refund to a good cause. Brilliant idea! Good places to eat once you've picked up your groceries: a nice park for children directly across the street; Philosopher's Way - just a short walk up a steep hill!; Neckar river - just a few blocks away.
