It was a good array of the their wonderful cuisine. The fried appetizers were not greasy and cooked just right. Loved the chicken/nuts dumpling, very unique and full of flavor and spices. For entree we tried the Lamb curry, sea bass curry, meat curry and pad Thai. They were all a hit, but the sea bass was the winner as far as we were concerned. The sauce and flavor was the perfect combination. Since it was a birthday celebration, we had the molten chocolate cake and the mango cheesecake, an amazing experience trying both (served with vanilla ice cream). They began to lose hope that the staple of Thai food would never return until the Little Thai put up their sign and opened their doors. I went with a pad kee mau, fellow yelper Vickie tried out the pad thai... it's just what we've bee missing. For those of you who are familiar with the area, it's the building that used to house the French restaurant (which I'll actually miss, they were really nice) but it's a lovely space, nice and bright and modern. We had a chance to chat with the new owner and it seems he's got a bit of experience with restaurants in the past so we're looking forward to having them as a permanent fixture in our little neighborhood. If you think pub quizzes are for social misfits that get shouty over insignificant trivia (and you would be right) then read no more, for apart from the quiz the Prince of Wales ticks all the boxes of London boozer conformity: good selection of real ales, cheerful bar staff, skanky toilets and unremarkable Thai food. The quiz, held every Tuesday at 9pm, is well-known amongst London's quiz geeks, has often featured in the press and the question masters have even published their own quiz book. It is a serious challenge, without the plasticine modelling rounds, wacky prizes, stale questions and general fooferah that mars many quizzes in the capital. The questions are difficult, but not arcane: sometimes a bit of lateral thinking or educated guess will get you home. Was even more thrilled to see them serve pad thai without peanuts, letting customers put their own on if wanted!
