I tipped my nail girl 20% because she was sweet. Which by the way - when I went to sign my bill I asked where do I leave the tip and the owner told me I should've told her in advance I wanted to leave a tip on the card because of the way there system is set up. This place filed my nails way to thin and within 6 days I had a very badly broken nail, not just the gel nail polish chipping but a vertical break of my nail, and since then it's happen on 3 other fingers all within 10 days of my gel manicure. The nails are ripping down to the nail bed being very painful. My job is not strenuous on the hands and should not cause this many bad nail breaks within this short period of time. This place was super clean and efficient. Got a great service and they didn't take hours. I would definitely suggest making an appointment cause they can be very busy. I got a spa manicure which was very relaxing. They did the heated hand muffs which was awesome and even did a warm compress for my shoulders. My one complaint is that the actual manicure itself started chipping within 24 hours -very annoying since I came in on new years eve. I've never had this happen before and it's not like I was doing anything that would cause my nails to chip so quick. By day 2 half my nails were chipped- whomp. I always call to make a reservation because it tends to get busy after work. The owners are super friendly, and the staff is very accommodating. Although you sometimes get passed along to different technicians during a mani/pedi, you're never left unattended. The quality of the nail polish and mani/pedi procedure is very good and the choices in Essie / OPI colors are well organized. What justifies the $35 price is the fact that it includes a hot stone massage + gel scrub for your heels that make your legs and feet feel amazing! Totally worth it! read more

I really don't give good reviews on nail salons because they usually aren't good with service and quality. This salon though is top 3 on my list. My favorite salon is Rose nails lounge in West New York, while this place is second on my list. They are super clean, girls are very good and work quickly. The wait is usually minimal even with walk ins. They start on time with appointments. The options for the colors is really varied which is great. Only thing that deters me from being more consistent in going is the terrible parking situation in Hoboken. read more

My OCD approves of this salon. I saw the mani/pedi materials come out of the sterile packaging (same way it's done in a hospital post autoclaving), and the bigger pumice blocks go into a sterilizer. Also, the mini buffers were one time use and thrown away. I also observed the pedi tubs wiped down with disinfectant cleaner. If my hands or feet start growing mushrooms, I'll update this review, but I don't see that happening. This was a walk-in, and I no one gave me a problem. Alicia took care of me- better yet- spoiled me. She took her time and was very sweet. I've had experiences where nail artists were intrusive with personal questions. I'll go back there when she's working. I paid 35 for a regular (non-gel) mani/pedi, plus $7 for gel polish removal. Alicia was nice enough to tell me about prices up front rather than surprising me with a bill. Meaning, for example: if she offered something like a massage, she'd tell me the fee rather than give the impression that it's free. Don't get me wrong, you get the standard massage as is the case with most mani/pedi spots I've been to. They also do eyebrow waxing. I had a wonderful experience today. My manicurist, Kathy, did an incredible job. I was in Hoboken for work and stumbled in. I had a bit of time to kill before my next meeting, I could not be more pleased with the outcome. I just sat down and said I wished to have a navy color and she brought 3 over. I selected #53. It is the perfect shade for transitioning into fall! The manicure was perfect, and while they were drying Kathy gave me a 10 minute massage. The newest nail salon in town - I've been pretty loyal to Bloom since they opened, but I feel that they've gone downhill and I've been bouncing around to whatever is convenient and/or has the best specials. I got a coupon in the mail for Atelier and decided to check it out on a Tuesday around 6:30, which can be prime time at many of the salons. It's a little smaller than some of the places on Washington, and I was happy to see it wasn't crowded when I arrived. However, it did pick up around 7 and they seemed slightly understaffed. My technician was very nice, but a little rough. The pedicure was decent - $30 and comes with a hot stone massage and paraffin wax on the heels, which I enjoyed. The manicure was average. They were very nice and it was a pleasant experience, so I'll continue to give it a shot. read more

Disclosure: This was my first-ever manicure/pedicure, so I don't have much to compare to. The salon was quite busy on a Friday afternoon, but plenty of manicurists kept things moving and I didn't have to wait much past my appointment time (I would recommend calling ahead for a predictably busy time as they would sometimes turn women away at the door - no consistency with that, so walk-ins seemed to be hit or miss). However, I did feel that my services were very rushed so they could get as many people through as possible. My pedicure was started and stopped several times as the woman got up to use her phone or talk to women coming into the salon, and she was very rough (maybe this is common, I wouldn't know, but I didn't think filing my nails would hurt). I also had to ask her to fix one of my nails because the paint job was quite sloppy. It looked great after she fixed it, and it lasted probably about a week, which is better than I expected. I agree with a previous review that they need to change what's on the television! Watching graphic coverage of the crisis in Syria was more than a little unnerving in a salon meant for relaxation. Overall, I would go back because the final product lasted a long time and the downtown location is prime. read more

Best pedicures I have ever had and it doesn't hurt that I live a block away. I always ask for Alisha as she goes above and beyond and puts full effort into the service! Hot paraffin wax for the heels of your feet and hot stone leg massage is included in addition to a regular lotion massage and exfoliating scrub for the legs. As your feet are drying they give you a quick shoulder massage! The owner is so attentive and very sweet to everyone. They always have updated polish colors and the bottles usually look very fresh rather than some spas where the bottles are half empty and old. My friend wanted to get her nails done before we had lunch so I figured I might as well treat myself! Since this was my first time coming here I decided to just get a manicure. I chose this pink mauve color called "French Affair" from Essie. The nail technician I had was skilled and was gentle enough with my nails. She probably noticed how nervous I was when she started filing them, but I really enjoyed my experience. I was pleased to have both a hand and back massage despite not asking for it. I know the hand massage is standard for salons, but it did make me feel better to get some tension out. Had a great experience here. The place was packed a so definitely make a reservation. I was seated in a smaller back room which I really loved because it felt private. They have super comfortable chairs and cover the water basin when getting a pedicure to make it super sanitary. Some negatives are: it's a bit dated (old nail dryers) and chair massages are literally in the middle of the room and note private at all. Key to a good manicure: get the nail polish on the nails. FAILED. I've never received such a poor quality manicure. 1) The files they were using were so old and crumbling apart that they barely worked. 2) The cuticle cutter and other tools were rusting. 3) The massage and hot towel were weak, brief, and I would have rather left sooner. 4) The OPI polish I chose was so dried out the woman had to close and reshake the bottle 4 times. 5) The nail tech clearly had little skill as she struggled to keep the polish on my only my nails. The nail polish got on my skin and despite her attempt to remove it- it stayed. As shown in the picture the overall result was disappointing. read more

I came to this salon with high hopes having read many good reviews. There are some bad ones recently but I decided to overlook those and give this place a try any way. Well their services are great for the price. However it is a hit or miss for sure. My friend was really taken care of by her technician. But mine was the worst ever! She had such a sullen look on her face, she would't talk and she did not even scrub my feet during the pedicure. She spent less than a minute (not exaggerating) on my feet. She pretty much left me unattended for the rest of the afternoon. My manicure was horrendous. Again she flew through it and an 8-year old could have painted my nails better!! My friend's technician was soo sweet that she took care of me after my manicure and offered to fetch my coat and even help me with my boots. When I called to let the salon know about my horrible experience, they did not so much as utter a sorry or offer to look into the situation. Clearly they don't care about their customers. read more

I've gone here twice now. The atmosphere of the nail salon is very nice. It seems extremely clean and was very comfortable. The first time I went, I just had a manicure ($10). The manicurist was very severe and I think the entire manicure lasted 10 minutes. However, I was pleased enough with the end product, which lasted about 4 days before I noticed it first start to chip. The second time, I got both a manicure and pedicure ($35). The first bummer is that this place offers no deal for a combined mani/pedi. The person who did my nails was not very attentive. She kept getting up to answer her phone, which I think is rude considering I was a paying customer. Again, my manicure only lasted about three or four days. Most irritating, my pedicure lasted just over a week before chipping! Normally, pedicures last for about a month before I start to notice chipping. Overall, I won't be going back anytime soon. This has been my go to spot in Hoboken for 5 years. I rarely go to any other salons. The inside is beautiful; they recently reinstalled all new furniture. They always use sterilized tools and always use the disposable buffer and filers. The people who work at the salon are all really friendly and will even spark up conversation with you which is nice. The spa chairs are new, clean and comfortable. Everyone who works there takes their time to do your nails and makes sure that they are perfect before leaving. The nail polish that they have is good quality- it's never chipped. I moved to Hoboken 6 months ago and took time to shop around for a great salon. I need consistency as my nails must always look great for work. I am now a loyal customer here. Hands down David is the best at just about everything, as he can get very creative with your requests and gives the best massages! His specialty seems to definitely be gel manicures. He's very busy, and an appointment is usually necessary. It's very clear as to who is a senior professional and who is more new. If you have special quirks or requests it's best to go to one of the senior professionals. When I need a quick mani/padi on the run all the ladies will do a great job! I went as a walk in around 1:15pm on a Sunday. Was greeted and asked what I wanted - a pedi and gel French manicure. Was directed to pick my pedicure nail color they only have OPI colors which I'm not used to so it seemed kind of a limited selection. But definitely enough colors to choose from for what I wanted. The woman who was doing my nails verified exactly what I wanted done to make sure she had it correct. I appreciated that she confirmed so I didn't have to correct her later. The pedicure was great. She took her time with everything, including the leg massage (which included hot stones) and then put gel callous softener stuff on my heels while painting my nails. Loved it. The gel French manicure came out great too. She really took her time doing the tips. I'll definitely be back, though it was on the higher end of standard pricing for Hoboken - $35 for pedicure and $45 for gel French manicure. I think the woman's name was Mardi. read more

I want to love this place---it's clean, bright, doesn't smell like nail polish fumes, the people are relatively nice--but when it comes down to it, I have to judge them based on the quality of their work. I've only had gel mani's done there and the longest they've lasted was maybe 7 days max--sometimes it was only a day or 2 before they started peeling/chipping. I am not a manual laborer so I would expect a gel manicure to last at least 2 weeks. I have had gel mani's done (elsewhere) that have lasted a month. I went in to complain (nicely) and they redid each nail at no charge which was nice but 3 days later my nails were chipping again. No luck with a regular pedicure either, it barely lasted a week before chipping. I've given this place multiple chances and while I love the fact they are only 5 min from my house, I will have to find a new place. read more

I was doing an errand in Hoboken and arrived an hour earlier then planned so I yelped the nearest nail salon and landed at Nail Atiler. There was plenty of paid street parking at 545 on a Thursday. Walking into the salon, I was instantly impressed. The place is clean, nice ambiance, the employees were very attentive and I was seated immediately. The prices are comparable to the salons in downtown Jersey City that I normally frequent. They offer a number of different types of pedicures that aren't explained in the menu that someone generously uploaded to Yelp but there is a sheet they give you that explains the options and a poster by the pedicure area. The lady working on my feet was super patient with me and my super ticklish feet during the callous removal. They had a great selection of both Essie and OPI colors. I can't speak to their selection of gels. I would definitely return. read more
