But there are many competent handymen. What sets him apart from others is that he is has a VERY HIGH STANDARD for EXCELLENCE. This is not someone who come to quickly get the job done and run to the next job. Rather, Xavier has incredible pride in his work and cares that it is done well, making him very precise in his workmanship. (for example, there are some pipes on the side of my house that he installed that are perfectly aligned and it makes me feel secure when I see these pipes knowing that job will last for years to come). In addition, he is very creative in the way that he thinks about the job. He is not a run of the mill handyman. Rather, he thinks out of the box and has been able to offer me ways of seeing things that I never would have thought of. What this means is that there have been times when I asked him to do a task and he came back with several other (better) ideas for what I was trying to do. In other words, he makes each project his own--not just merely following my (limited) perspective and checking it off the list, but instead Xavier thinks about the task on hand making sure he is always offering an excellent product. And, if this weren't enough, he is such a good person. You can really trust him. He is honest guy with very high standards not just with his workmanship but also as being a decent human being. On many occasions I left the key for him to do some work, knowing he would be in my house without me. Xavier always worked to give me the best price and I really loved working with him. This experience was very unprofessional and disappointing. I trusted them to do what I paid for, but instead they took my money and left the job incomplete. If you're thinking about hiring them, be careful -- get everything in writing and don't pay until the work is actually done. I would never recommend this company to anyone.
