I'm unsure about these other negative reviews on this forum but I had a great experience working with John. John is very responsive on text, knowledgeable, and nice. I had John install 2 storm doors, new door trim, and repair a small tile leak at my house. He did a fantastic job. He provides pictures, frequent updates, and also points out issues that I wasn't aware of. He also picked up the material I ordered for the renovations at my local hardware store. He deserves every penny. I am looking forward to having future renovations done with John. I would recommend him to my friends, family, and those looking for a multi experienced handyman. read more

John helped us fix our doorbell after the chime shorted out. He was prompt, knowledgable, and courteous. He went out of his way to discuss the issue over the phone before his arrival so he could be prepared to fix the problem as efficiently as possible. During his repairs, he explained every step of the process so I could understand it, and even pledged to do research after the fact to help us make an educated decision on replacing the chime or forgoing it altogether. I called John several months back. I had just moved from the west coast and hurt my back so it was great to find someone knowledgable and affordable. I had a barely functional bathroom and he replaced the toilet, installed a bidet seat, replaced the flooring, caulked the tub, and put up some towel bars. High quality work. Very friendly. John responded right away to my request for repairs. He had a cancellation so he was able to schedule me this morning. He was on time and we spent some time walking around writing up additional projects. What's great is he works on multiple types.of projects not just plumbing or just electrical. He is coming back when I get some various parts because I had not had time to get those assembled because he responded so quickly. My new fan is installed. It's great (blue tooth speaker and various lighting schemes). My step ladder is hung in the garage for me. Next he is fixing the pocket door and working on a cover for the generator panel and the solar panel. Oh and he will be fixing the landing on my deck where the snow plow guy hit it and cracked the trim. LoL read more

Hired The Home Tradesman for all sorts of odds and ends in a commercial property that I am leasing. Electrical, plumbing a lot of repair, etc. John's 30 years of all around construction experience becomes quickly apparent upon first meeting and his communication and website is really easy to get on his schedule. So we are not local to the area and did not know where to start when looking for someone to replace our water heater. So we turned to our old reliable for a referral- Yelp of course! Their process for getting referrals and estimates is quick and easy- and then there is the $2500 guarantee. Just can't beat that service. From the moment The Home Tradesman answered a/k/a John, it was an easy choice to make. Not only did he have the lowest estimate (which we all know is no guarantee of anything), John is polite, honest, forthright, accommodating and punctual. And that's before you get to know him! Well, both the customer service and the quality of the craftsmanship are both extraordinary- as it turned out the scope of our job was a little more complicated than expected and even a second day of labor was required there was no extra charge to us. And John was even apologetic that he took longer to complete the task, even though it was. No fault of his. There are dozen little things that we are looking to have done around the house and John will be the person we contract to do them. We have done a lot of major renovations in our home in the last year which meant working with a variety of contractors and dealing with all types of frustrations like poor workmanship, no shows or no responses... So I feel like my review is trustworthy. John is a highly skilled carpenter which is hard to find these days. He has his own website which makes it easy to book an appointment! He is professional, polite and friendly. A rare find. We will be using him for many future projects. Especially projects that are small since many contractors only want major work or charge you an arm and a leg just to show up! Left a message for an estimate , they never once returned a call. Called twice and left two messages. I can't reccomend any tradesperson that never follows up with potential clients , I had a rather large job and have since found a responsible contractor. Stay away from this business as they are not professional. read more

Hire John to replace 7or 8 trek board on the my deck and replace flower beds. Came out looked at what I wanted done and committed to do the job. Well he didn't finish the job. Now patio has two flower beds that's not finish. To sum it up I wouldn't recommend him.There was several texts saying that he would be out but never showed up. Very unprofessional.
