Neither of us drive so we both took an Uber to the location. She lives in North Kildonan. I had to arrange child care. When we arrived, the location was closed and we had to turn around and call 2 more Ubers to take us each back to our homes only to rebook at a different salon and repeat the same process the next day. 2.5 hours after our scheduled appointment time we both received a text asking us to review our appointment service. Hysterical. Do Not recommend Hollywood Nails. The ladies at AMERICAN NAILS are lovely, the salon is gorgeous, clean, they offer many types of beverages. I shot the works! the stress-fix mani/pedi, stress-fix massage, body polish, bikini wax and a haircut and blow out. OMG. I couldn't believe how great it was. Ava took care of me for the wax and manicure, Parvinder did my massage, body polish, and pedicure, and Kelly took care of my hair (the cut was better than the one I got at Chatters, and was more economical!). The body polish, with the hot towels was SOOOO relaxing. I nearly fell asleep. I felt so spoiled and amazing after I was done. I was offered something to drink during my mani/pedi, and everyone was so friendly and nice. I felt so refreshed and renewed afterward, and I'm so grateful. Thank you for a great job, ladies!

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED by Barb and the incredibly friendly & helpful! They also surprised us both by giving her a beautiful complimentary makeup application. I'm really disappointed with my experience and wanted to share some feedback…read more I came in with light brown hair with some natural grey coming through, which gave it a soft, highlighted look. I showed an inspiration photo and asked for a balayage with lighter tones and darker brown dimension. I was told this look was achievable and that it could be done without bleach. Unfortunately, the result was completely different. My hair was dyed a dark copper/red tone that was much darker than my starting colour and nothing like the balayage I had requested. Right after my appointment I had to head to St. Vital for a separate appointment for my daughter, and while I was there I spoke with stylists about what had happened. They told me the look I asked for was actually quite straightforward to achieve, especially given my natural hair colour, but that it would have required bleach. They were very surprised that I had been told bleach wouldn't be needed, and also verbalized how confused they were by the colour choices and approach that had been taken, saying it made absolutely no sense to them. My hair was dyed a total of three times and bleached once in an attempt to deal with the copper tone. From my perspective, it felt like the colour was repeatedly darkened to try to cover the copper rather than properly correct it, and unfortunately the copper never went away, and now I'm left with much darker hair than I ever wanted to have. After multiple washes, dyes, bleaching, and blow drying over several hours, my very fine hair now feels extremely damaged. I'm already noticing breakage and split ends, even though I had just had my hair cut. It took me a long time to grow my hair out, and it's upsetting to feel like I may have to cut it shorter again because of the damage. They kept telling me my hair felt fine, but it's not. It just tangles and breaks. I'm also very self-conscious about the colour. I honestly feel embarrassed by how it looks and really miss my lighter hair. I was told the darker colour would wash out. However, the copper tone will remain. I do want to acknowledge that everyone I interacted with was kind and seemed to be trying to help. However, after spending about $300, I've left with hair that looks nothing like what I asked for and feels significantly damaged, which has been really upsetting.
