I am really upset with the service here. Before my service started, I clearly stated to the staff that I only had a $20 budget. They agreed to do a bio gel removal and clean for that price, but the service felt incredibly rushed and half-assed. They did a poor job cleaning my nails, didnt do my cuticles or under my nails, and they actually filed my nails barely. When I pointed this out and asked the technician to clean it out the stuff under my nails, she refused and tried to pressure me into upgrading to a full manicure, completely ignoring the budget I had established when I walked in. Walked in for a shellac manicure on a Wednesday afternoon around 1:30 and got seated right away. Ive been trying many different salons around the area and I think I found the one ill be going back to! The nail technician who did my nails did a really good and detailed job. My nails were cut really short (by me) since my old shellac was almost all peeled off and my nails kept chipping. I've been going to Nails On Yonge for four years now, and cannot go anywhere else. This is by far the best nail salon I've ever been to, and I go specifically out of my way to make it there each time. Emily, in specific is my go to nail artist, She is fast, efficient, so knowledgeable, and very sweet. She's quiet and doesn't converse much while doing nails, which I prefer, honestly. The way she shapes nails is so precise, and I have not met any other nail artist that is able to perfect it to my liking. I managed to walk in without reservations for a shellac mani and waited a few minutes before being seen. There was a promo for $55 to have both mani and pedi done. I wasn't able to have the pedi done at the same time but they were good about letting me come back a few hours later for the special pricing. My mani was a bit rough. I don't think I've ever had my cuticles on my hands trimmed before and I don't think it was really necessary. This is especially true after I was cut several times on my thumbs that I regretted allowing my cuticles to be cut at all. Not only that, the UV light kept stopping after a few seconds. The worst part was that the colour I picked wasn't even close to what it turned out to be. (Attached photo). This was extremely frustrating as I had no time for them to change it and was prepping for an event. (2/5) On the flip side, Anne did my pedicure and she was amazing! So gentle, yet efficient! My toes looked perfect and skin was cleaned up well. They also had massage chairs which enhances the experience. Found the raving reviews about Nails on Yonge from Yelp and decided to give it a visit for my monthly Shellac manicure. Overall I'm very happy to say that I'm extremely pleased with the results. I had Shellac done with Linda who did one of the best manicures I've seen. Keep in mind I've tested out almost all of the 4-star and higher nail salons in the downtown Toronto area but still my Shellac ends up peeling from my cuticle area. If you look closely at my pictures even after a month my nail polish didn't budge. Crazy!! From what I've seen all the ladies here are very detail oriented and will do an amazing job. The store was also very accommodating in taking my request for a next day Shellac manicure. Prices are pretty reasonable. I paid $35 for a Shellac manicure with removal of my previous Shellac (from another nail salon). They accept credit but I recommend paying cash to save on the tax. The only tricky side if you are a driver is that parking is extremely hard to find so I recommend walking, taking an Uber or the bus. read more

Prior to getting my nails done, my nails were uneven, and disgusting (old chipped shellac nails). The nail technician was able to even out my nails without cutting off too much length. She recommend that I get round nails instead of square so my nails will not chip as quickly. I don't recall her name but she was from Nepal. The owner won't charge you tax if you pay cash only. It costed my 35 before tips. I believe they charged me 5 dollars for my old shellac chrome removal. (They told me it would cost 30 dollars on the phone). I'm really picky with where I get my nails. I honestly have gone to 80% of nail places in the downtown core and nothing is as good as Nails on Yonge. It's not an upscale place, but the environment is modern and clean. I always go with Linda to get my shellac manicure and pedicure done and its been about a year since I met her. She's so patient and does a damn good job. My manicures last for atleast 3 weeks and pedicures for at least a month. I'm going on vacation tomorrow and will have to wear closed toed shoes the whole time. The person who did my pedicure hacked my toe nails down to nubs and filed the skin raw around my big toe. I'm actually bewildered this happened and can't believe anyone, especially someone who does this for a living, would think this was acceptable.
