Went in with super chapped hands and untrimmed nails from a whole month of traveling and neglect; came out with soft hands, neat trims, and shiny happy new nail colors. The nail trimming / cuticle shaping / hand care / etc are done with so much attention to detail and her polish application skills are top-notch :) I'm a perfectionist and you can imagine how happy I get when my nail colors always come out smooth and pretty. Found this salon not long ago and very happy with it. Very attentive staff. Provide high quality services. Very clean and bright. Not large but very cosy. I started from manicure. They work with OPI. Lot of color collection, manicure is very clean, no cuts, no dry skin. Good European style manicure. The same with pedicure. Take care of heels, take care of cuticula and very accurate and clean polish gel or vinilux up to your choice. The service/nail technician was very good, however beware: they charge an additional 10% on top of the advertised price, which is hidden in the Covid-19 "fine print" on their website. I even called in to confirm the price of a pedicure prior to my visit, and they did not mention the total price/additional 10%. The pedicure and service was great, but when they charged my credit card, they added the 10%. They only explained the extra charge once I came back and questioned it/saw that the price was higher than quoted, and they referred me to their Covid precautions fine print. read more

Serenity Spa is the best spa I've been to in the downtown area. Its conveniently located and doesn't take over three weeks to get an appointment. My sister, best friend and I have gone there for manicures, pedicures, facials and waxing. Esmeret (the owner) is extremely warm, kind and highly knowledgeable of skin care, new products...basically everything to do with one's beauty regiment. The atmosphere is lovely and comfortable, the space is beautiful and relaxing and the quality of the services provided are on par with some of the really high-end hotel spas (which we all know cost a fortune!). The pricing is extremely reasonable at Serenity Spa and for the quality of service you receive, it's totally worth it! read more

Leda did a great job and I felt so much better when I floated out of the salon 90 minutes later. She gave me a little sample of one of the products which was kind. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5 Just had a very nice experience here. One of my best friends lives out of town and we were able to book facials for the same time slot. We didn't get to be side by side in the same room, but it was relaxing and it was nice to do "together" anyway. We both got the basic facial, in which Skinceuticals products were used. I really like that line - it felt really luxurious. You can also ask for Dermalogica or Phytomer, but I was going to request Skinceuticals anyway, if given the choice. The environment was also very nice, even though it was a small space, and the staff was great. We both agreed that our skin felt plumper, smoother, and more hydrated afterwards, which was very nice! They recommended products without being aggressive, and provided guidance on how to get started with Skinceuticals, which is something I'd been meaning to look into. 1.5 stars off because my esthetician tried to extract a couple things on my face that I didn't want her to touch, but I probably could have communicated that more clearly at the beginning. No harm done though, because she wasn't too forceful and stopped when I asked. I think her technique was good. Generally, when I compare this to my other spa experiences in Toronto, I prefer Serenity over Elmwood because I prefer the product lines at Serenity, I think the esthetician's technique was a little bit better, Serenity has nicer treatment rooms (Elmwood rooms look very clinical, like doctor's offices), less people milling about (because it's a smaller facility), and I don't use the hot tubs/hair salon anyway. I feel like you can get a better facial at a more competitive price here, the massages offered are less gimmicky, and I'm very interested in the hydrafacial, which is not offered there. Also, the pedicure basins at Serenity are not the jacuzzi/massage tubs (which is what Elmwood has), which is way more sanitary because it's nearly impossible to completely disinfect jacuzzi jets. Miraj Caudalie spa I absolutely adore and is the gold standard in terms of providing a luxurious environment, but the prices means it's definitely more of a special occasion spa, whereas I'd be happy to visit Serenity multiple times throughout the year. I'd be happy to return for a full day of treatments next time, especially for the hydrafacial! read more

Went in for a pedicure and the lady did something to my toe and then tried to blame me saying it was already there when she had already pretended like she didn't know what I was talking about and tried to act as tho I was speaking a different language. It eventually went away in like 36 hours but it looked gross like a welt or boil and was certainly NOT there when I sat in the chair. Also the paint job wasn't the best and I had to ask her to fix it multiple times. I also felt like the shaping was off but I'm a big stickler for my Big toe nails shape and size. But the worst part was that I was told to get off my phone since someone was getting a massage. I've been to other spa type salons to get my nails done and never had that problem but it was a very small place and the massage room was literally a walk away and must have been very thin. I was pissed lol. I go to a nail salon to relax and I wasn't talking loud on the phone. Was just the only thing or person making a sound. Otherwise it was quiet so if u like that go here. But I wish I knew the lady who did my feet's name. Total let down this place. read more

I tried their facial and body treatment. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but there is still room for improvement - specifically, in more transparent and clear communication with staff. Priced right for the service and product. I will be back. Booking was a breeze online. With text message and email reminders as the appointment closes to date, reservation was very easy to manage. The space is quaint, very clean, bright, and welcoming. Staff was courteous and efficient in taking my jacket, and giving a form to fill out. No chatty ladies gossiping here - a very pleasant change from your downtown "spa" scenery! I booked the Rejuvenating with Honey & Coconut Milk Body Treatment (75 min) and the Phytomer Custom Facial (60 min). The body treatment was a blissful treat for my flaky winter skin and worn-out muscles. You are first scrubbed down with a subtle sugar concoction, smothered with honey and coconut. After taking a shower in the private suite, you are given a nice back rub with essential oils, and a divine scalp massage. The facial includes a series of cleansing operations with intermittent applications of hot towels (simple stuff - but it's so relaxing!). The bulk of the "work" consists of extraction (if needed), hydration, and serums to top it all off. My qualm is more with communication with the staff and the up-sale of products they carry. I had booked a Phytomer Facial (using the said brand product) but they had switched it up to a different brand without consulting with me at first! I mean, that is really NOT ACCEPTABLE. As consumers, I believe we should be informed of any product being applied to us, especially our faces! On top of that, it was not the service I intended. I was only informed of this change (they switched me from Phytomer products to SkinCeuticals) when my beautician was giving me a series of recommendation for my beauty routine. The series of products she recommended me for my face tallied to be about $500 (it is actually slightly below the retail price of said product - so kudos to them!). I told her that it is absolutely over my spending limit, and if she can recommend me one product that would work with my budget ($60 - I know, but it is my absolute maximum for daily routine/4month period). No, she says, the only thing that will do anything for me is this $170 serum. I will return to Serenity. It was only my first visit, but I would easily put it on my top 5 favourite spas list in downtown Toronto. It is spotless, quiet and I felt completely relaxed and rejuvenated after my experience. 5 stars is not enough for Serenity Spa & Lounge. Like the other reviewers I am a fan of their facials. Asmeret is a skin care genius! I have extremely sensitive skin and whenever I have had facials in the past there is always something that sets my skin on fire and/or I end up with redness/irritation afterwards. Not here. Asmeret customizes the facials to suit my needs and my skin has never looked better. I agree with a previous reviewer who said if you're having a horrible day to book an appt. for a facial. My first one was for 75 minutes and now I won't book anything less than that. Over the course of 75 minutes your life will be transformed. You think you're just going in for a facial but you're not. Expect a seaweed back treatment to help draw out the toxins and a massage for your hands, arms, legs, feet and scalp. If possible book for the end of the day so you can go home and crawl straight into bed! That is what I do! The spa is extremely clean and the spa rooms are so comfortable. The music and the lighting are perfect for relaxation but Asmeret is so soothing and has such a way of making her guests feel at home. I've been here for lash tintings, brow threadings and facials. Each time I leave feeling like I am walking on air. I am so happy I discovered this gem of a location (thanks to the reviews on Yelp!) and I will continue to return again and again and again. read more

I've been looking for a replacement for 10 Spot for a while because I find that (franchise of) spa(s) became way too mainstream, i.e. busy and LOUD. This place uses Dermalogica, Skinceuticals, and O.P.I. products - all of which are my preference. I've just come home from having 3 services done, actually: a wax, their signature pedicure and their classic manicure. The wax was quick and done very well! I'm always relieved when an aesthetician puts light pressure on your skin immediately after waxing the area, not everyone thinks to do that but it reduces the painful sting. The main difference between their signature and classic -cures is that the former includes a paraffin treatment. I had never tried paraffin prior, so figured I'd add it to my pedi and I'm impressed at how much softer my feet are now - I will definitely keep that up over the summer while my feet are more exposed on the regular! I stuck with the classic mani because, meh, I don't care about my hands that much (ha). Regardless, the polish job on fingers and toes look great. I don't remember my aesthetician's name was Olga but I'm not sure. She was young and blonde, and super friendly. I was very relaxed and almost fell asleep a bunch of times. She also helped me put on my shoes and jacket after my nails were done. The interior of the spa itself is subtly feminine, with an equally subtle Moroccan vibe. I liked the quiet atmosphere, a lot. Very relaxing yoga music in the background. Again, almost fell asleep a bunch of times. I'm recommending this spa to all my girlfriends (and reposting this review everywhere I can) and I will definitely be back. The prices are on point, i.e. very, very reasonable. read more

After moving to Toronto last year, Serenity was the first place I went to for my nails, mostly due to its location. I tried another salon for comparison, but returned to Serenity and have no desire to go elsewhere. Leda is awesome! She makes my hands/nails look hand model worthy. The salon is always clean and orderly and the atmosphere is very peaceful and relaxing. One of the other bonuses is that appointments can be booked online, which I love! Best spa in Toronto in my opinion!! The staff is very friendly, professional and excellent at what they do. I have been going there for mani/pedis for a while now and have brought friends along (even my husband!) and it does not matter who you get - whether it be Asmeret, Jenny or Sharon - they all do excellent work!! I've had threading done by many people and Jenny is by far the best. I call her "the Queen of Threading". Asmeret gives the best facial. You have to try one of her facial treatments. Every service I have had there has been excellent. Asmeret has created this little jewel of a spa. The name Serenity really suits the spa. They helped me have a relaxing day before my wedding and my feet and hands were perfectly done. They were both very meticulous and are also very sweet and friendly. Sadly, didn't honour my appointment. I called the day before and booked a mani pedi for the next day at 12:30pm. After organising my schedule around this, when I showed up they had no recollection of the booking. The receptionist was very nice and very apologetic about it, but couldn't do anything as they were fully booked.
