The lady used what appeared to be a heavy duty cheese grater on my foot and sliced off a chunk of my big toe while she was engrossed in deep conversation. Her focus was on the other side of the room and my feet just happened to be in the way. Had I been alone, I would have left right then but I didn't want to ruin my boyfriend's experience so I let them paint my nails after. As a small business owner myself, I would have provided the services for free but these guys gave me a bandaid and sent me off on my merry way. My shellac polish was chipping like a BIOTCH so I was trying to find something close by that wasn't too expensive. Found this place on google maps so I called to make an appointment for the following hour. Came in and was greeted and seated right away with no wait. The women who did my nails was absolutely meticulous and did an amazing job. Even though she didn't speak much English she was very kind and made sure she understood exactly what I wanted in terms of shape and length etc... it took about 50 minutes to have a gel polish change. I was pleased to find out that the charge the same price for opi polish and shellac as some places charge double for opi!!!! I have been coming to this salon, every 3 weeks for the past several months and I have slowly seen it deteriorate. The experience isn't pleasant. They rush you when it comes to picking a colour, the rush the work they do - which ends up looking botched. We were there yesterday and the only technician was so rude, kept rolling her eyes to the point where we had to ask her to stop rushing us. Once she was done - 3 of the nails weren't evenly completed and when we asked someone to fix it - they hap haphazardly did it - with a lot of attitude. i came on sept 28 for bio gel shellac refill, and my first visit to the place. this place was actually good in comparison to comfort nails just 2blocks west of this place. ive never had a guy do my nails ever so i was a bit skeptical if he would felt the shape right. i loved the shape and quality of polish is great cause its been three weeks and hasnt chipped yeah! the only negatives thats why i didnt rate it 5stars was the seats wer so close to one another which i didnt like. the tables were not cleaned so not sure how clean and sanitize the tools were but no infections for me so its fine. there was a lot of noise from staff in their language probably talking about their customers which i didnt like i couldnt relax. the lights were very dim so not sure how the nail tech was able to do a good job. there was a couple of bubbles on majority of the nails which i asked him to fix. i wud go back here just because it stayed on for a long time...pay in cash they charge no tax read more

Quick service, but don't expect frills or smiles. A wide selection of gel colours as well as regular polishes (including CND vinylux and OPI infinite shine for additional cost). I got a regular manicure (with shellac removal) on a lazy Sunday as a drop-in. When I approached, a woman (Ying) seemed confused dealing with another drop in, so I patiently waited until my chance to speak with her. She had to confirm with another woman (the owner?) before she told me to sit and wait. 15min later, when I finally got seated, a woman started to file gently at my shellac in preparation for the acetone soak, but mid-way, she was replaced with Ying (no explanation why). Ying moved at triple her speeds, aggressively attacking my nails while looking miserable the entire time. Which is fine, because despite her speed and roughness, I ended up with perfectly shaped almond nails (I had to request for the almond, because she only asked if I wanted to cut or file and started filing without asking if I wanted to keep my oval or if I wanted a new shape). I have given this salon 3 stars because: 1. Relatively clean and new compared to other salons in the area 2. Speedy service 3. Excellent shaping of nails (harder to find in a manicurist than you would think!) My main concerns were that: 1. While the first girl used a mini buffer that I think was new for each customer, Ying pulled out a larger (used) buffer from the drawer below the table 2. The tools came in the typical sterilized packaging, for sure, but... the bag was already opened and seemed pretty wrinkled... and Ying took the bag and folded it up and put it into her apron... for reuse again?! 3. The top coat used isn't great, so the resulting colour was muted; this was remedied when I went home and added my own top coat read more

I went here to get Shellac after Comfort Nails was full, and was impressed by the customer service that day. It's very clean inside, and I like that they have a TV to watch during your service. It was disappointing that the day after, 3 of my nails had shipped! I went back in to have them fixed, and the aesthetician seemed very annoyed the whole time. After the hassle of going back, the shellac chipped even more, I had to remove it myself a few days later. I will stick to Comfort Nails from now on. read more

I really hate to write a negative review of this place but I've given this place a handful of chances. I've revisited after receiving not so good service because I liked the nail tech (she was friendly and communicative). I don't think she works there anymore. And I can't remember her name but she had grey hair and always had her nails done. Her nails were always so nice! That's besides the point. It's nice and clean in here. Lovely decor. The wifi is a bonus! The service however... every time I get my nails done here they either crack or chip within 48 hours of getting them done. I'm a great tipper. I tip at least 18-20%. And to have my nail break within 48 hours is disheartening. These things happen sometimes but what I find very offensive is that the owner charges me every time this happens. His excuse the last time was... my nail bed was the issue. So if my nail bed was the issue why didn't the nail tech identify that during my appointment and suggest I do a new full set? I paid him and tipped him on top. Upon leaving. I kid you not... within 5 hours another nail broke and other nails have gaps where liquid is seeping through them. I get my nails down with a clear polish so I can literally see all the poor work that a color would cover. I am extremely dissatisfied and have finally learnt my lesson. Nails Queen will never get another dollar from me. And if I can save one or two people from the trouble than I'm happy. read more

Stopped by this salon a few weeks ago and got a gel polish change. As far as gel nail polishes go, their selection is larger than I've seen anywhere else in the area. They did a great job with the polish change with a little bit of filing and cleaned up my cuticles too. Today I got a gel pedi with the free mani. Sherley does a really neat and FAST manicure. Prices are very reasonable for the are and quality is better than most. Oh and the massage chairs are amazing. read more

Took my girlfriend to get a manicure for her birthday and they literally ripped the skin off of two of her fingers...all the while pretending like nothing was wrong. She was in a lot of pain and we brought attention to the fact that they had ripped a lot of her skin off. Their response? She had "thin skin". Didn't listen to anything I said, cut my nails shorter than I wanted and applied the shellac vey poorly. Once she was finished, the husband of the owner interrupted and told me he'd be doing my manicure. My friends and I chose Nails Queen due to convenience of location. My friends and I were pleased with the quality. I got shellac mani and pedi for my wedding while my friends got simple manicures. I took a bit of time to consider writing this review, and this is what I have to say. My nails looked gorgeous in the photos, but they didn't last very long since I had 3D jewels applied. They lasted for my wedding which was the important thing! My friends said their nails were more expensive than they were used to. I'm not going to speak on their behalf, my issue is that it was a tad overpriced with $1 per jewel. I agreed because it was my wedding, however I got 22 jewels which made it a bit extreme. Thank you for the gorgeous nails! I would just consider repricing the nail art. read more

So I just got back from my 2.5 hour appointment and have kind of a bad aftertaste and this is my experience. I called ahead for lash extension and shellac, they were very busy when I got there but were able to accommodate me 5~10 mins after my appointment time which is fine. I started with the lash extension. The girl asked me what I'm looking for, I said "natural but pretty". I even told her I'm going on a beach vacation so I don't want anything overly glamorous. Then she got to work, she was very meticulous and took her time which I appreciated took about 90 mins to complete, and when I opened my eyes again I see crazy dramatic glam sets of lashes. Like even more glam than what I had for my own wedding. I even mentioned this to her, and all she said was "it's very nice on you". This was all okay until it was time to pay. So their "natural lashes" are $55 which is clearly what I went there for, but they ended up charging me "glamorous lashes" which was a whopping $100. I asked the guy at the cashier why and all I got was "oh the girl said it was glamorous set". At this point the store was closing so she wasn't even there to answer my questions so what choice did I have. Bottom line - the people are nice. Just make sure you communicate everything when you go in, and make sure you are both on the same page. I went in with a budget of $100 and I ended up paying $188 for something I didn't ask for, didn't want, and don't like and that kind of cancelled out the "niceness" that I experienced there. Excellent prices. I got a spa pedicure which I highly recommend. The massage was great, and they really took their time. There wasn't any foot bath with the jet and bubbles though. It's a shame because I quite enjoy that part. Your feet are immersed immediately with just warm water and some kind of cream is put over your legs. I really like their collection of polishes. If you're into reds, pinks and neutrals, they have you covered. I chose a rose gold polish by opi which came out beautifully. I recommend booking an appointment instead of walking in because it gets busy. read more
