A friend and I went to have manicures done. We both got gel. They filed our nails so thin they bend even with the gel nail polish. My friends nails were all bumpy like little bubbles were in the polish. Not smooth at all. My nails were all left different lengths even though I tried to say I want them all even as possible. The polish hasn't lasted a whole week for either of us. We went somewhere before and it lasted almost a month. Very disappointed. And charged $40 each!! Website says $30 but when I asked she just said "oh no, it's $40". Not worth it!! read more

I never been here before and called to make an appointment. The male who answered the phone was very rude and unprofessional. I then scheduled an appointment with LA Nails. I am happy I did. I will never go to Spencer Nails. I will continue to share my experience with others. I will never recommend going to Spencer Nails. I wouldn't give this place any stars. Still 5 stars! This is the place I always go for mani/pedis, gels or acrylics. Nice & friendly staff, reasonable pricing. I'm so glad it's close to my house. They are so good they do get very busy now but do their best to get you in. I suggest you call ahead and make an appointment whenever possible! read more

I tried out this new place for a full set of acrylics. Wendy was nice and quick but way too rough. She over clipped a nail that is still bleeding. Then she was too aggressive with my cuticles and my pinky finger is now red and inflamed, as close to bleeding as you could be. There are a few steps I've seen all nail techs prior do that she skipped. I showed her a picture of my prior acrylics at the beginning so she would know how I like my nails and this set does not come close at all in shape and symmetry. I am very picky about my nails since I've been getting them done for more than half my life. This seems to be a popular place for pedis. I may try one of those in the future but I don't know about nails again here. read more

I got a gel manicure yesterday afternoon and by the next day, they were already chipping and peeling off. Three full nails are completely chipped off. Not worth the $40!! read more

First visit to a nail salon in Spencer, IA. Very impressed! No appointment and they got us in right away. The establishment is very clean and doesn't have the chemical smell that some nail salons have. This was my first trip to this place I have never written a review in my life but I was so unhappy with the service I received today I could not pass up doing it. I don't know the name of the girl who did my pedi, she never told me. She was very rough and made me cry out in pain on my little toe. Then a guy came to finish me who was very rude. The workers got in a verbal heated conversation over a mistake one of them made on the lady next to me. Only they do it in native tongue so you can't understand. I still have three toes that are very sore tonight. I didn't appreciate all the signs stating they wanted cash for payments and tips. Pay your taxes, you are making plenty.
