The food is good, but this didn't even touch anywhere near my favourite Japanese restaurants. It's a good size place - plenty of tables for two and plenty for bigger groups. It can get noisy, but not to the point where you can't hear yourself think. The staff were friendly and attentive even if they did often linger and collect items one by one all throughout the evening off the table (even before dessert came, one guy was taking away the menu placemats, and when I had my elbows on it while looking at my phone, I felt him trying to rip it out from under me. Quite rude). I did feel the service/meal was quite rushed, and so if you're looking for a long night out at a restaurant with friends, it's definitely not that. The menu has a little bit of everything you know, and a few more unique things. We didn't order the tempura eggplant, yet the presentation was superb when we saw it arrive at other tables. Everything we ordered came out looking good. We shared their version of Chicken Karaage, and a really nice tuna sashimi taco. I ordered some tuna/salmon sushi rolls, and tried their Chicken Katsu Don. Everything was quite nice, but nothing especially so good that I'd rush right back. The restaurant itself is clean and modern looking and they had good music and there was a lovely atmosphere. Pricing is a little on the higher side and parking is a little on the frustrating side. Overall, I would come back again at some stage, but perhaps when they have a menu change and I'll know to come if you want just a nice, quick dinner.

The interior is nicely decorated, with a big outdoor terrace that overlooks the water. It was pretty chilly so we stayed inside, but one nice day it's definitely worth doing. There's an extensive sake list, and plenty of beer but I stuck with iced tea which changes regularly. Mine was a lemon rosemary which wasn't too sweet at all. For food, we started with edamame that came with a lovely spicy dipping sauce. That was followed by some skewered meat which they specialize in and you should definitely get - they're reasonably priced and a great accompaniment to drinks. Finally, we had a rainbow roll from their well curated sushi menu. My husband said it was some if the best sushi he's had recently - definitely very fresh. Service is friendly, and if you aren't inclined to dine in there is a dedicated take out area.

It's always fresh, and tasty and beautifully presented. In this regard, they didn't let us down. But the service was so incredibly bad. They clearly forgot someone's entree, and instead of just owning it and admitting it, there was every excuse under the sun and most didn't even seem plausible and varied from wait staff to wait staff. I'd rather just know for sure that something has been forgotten, so we have a realistic expectation of when to expect it. I just don't think they either cope when very busy, or their staff just need more training. Other than the bad service, I have to compliment them again on the food. Every dish was delicious and looked good too. My favourite was the Tuna Tataki (picture attached). Really, really good. Pricing is a teeny bit high, but I guess average considering Japanese food is a bit pricier than other cuisines. Parking isn't always great, so I like coming to the earlier seating so there's a better chance for a parking space. The decor is good, but the chairs a bit uncomfortable and heavy to move when adjusting yourself at the table. But overall, I think if the food at a restaurant is good enough, it sometimes outweighs some of the negatives.

The service was so bad, it was like they had bad blood with me. They never gave me a reason for the way they treated me. They just acted like I was invisible. They made me feel like I was the last great American dynasty, but not in a good way. The quality of the food was poor and not at the correct temperature. It was a cruel summer for my taste buds. The dishes were bland and boring, nothing like the sparks fly I expected. They served me cold as you sushi and wildest dreams noodles. The restaurant was not clean and well-maintained. It looked like a place where the lovers go to hide away. There were stains on the tablecloth and dust on the shelves. It made me feel like I was in exile. The atmosphere was dark and gloomy, like a haunted house. The lighting was too dim, the music was too loud, and the design was too cluttered. The restaurant lacked a clear brand story and personality. It did not impress me with a great view or a remarkable ambiance. I would not recommend this restaurant to others. You need to calm down and find a better place to eat. Don't say yes to this place, just run away now. You deserve something better than this. You belong with me, at a restaurant that makes you happy. A place where you can shake it off and have fun. A place where you can see the daylight and feel the love story. A place where you can be fearless and speak now. A place where you can be yourself and not worry about anything else. Kindest Regards, Vishkuma Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour - Melbourne Night 2 and 3 atendee.

We ordered the black cod, tuna sushi rolls, and a salmon dish along with a complementary dessert. The black cod was by far the best bite I've had in a while..it was rich, perfectly cooked, full of flavor and melted in your mouth. While it's not a lot of food overall, the sushi rolls were quite substantial and satisfying. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with elegant decor that creates a calm atmosphere. It's perfect for a special occasion. Overall, it's a wonderful dining experience and a great choice for a celebration.

We were immediately seated at the sushi bar and our server came to get our orders. WAGYU AND FOIE GRAS DON- japanese mixed mushroom rice with wagyu sirloin and duck liver This dish was very filling and hearty. The wagyu was very meaty and tender. It was blowtorched and had a smoky flavor. The foie gras was buttery and very light. I liked the rice. It was sweet and earthy at the same time. It absorbed some of that sweet mushroom flavor. Overall, flavor was good, but it can be drying after a few bites. HIDA-GYU AND KAGOSHIMA-GYU The wagyu was thinly sliced and very tender. I especially like the uni because it was very buttery and tasted very fresh and sweet, which complemented the flavors of the meaty beef. SUSHI- tuna, salmon, otoro, garfish, and scallop I did not like the TUNA, it had a fishy odor and flavor to it. It didn't taste fresh. The SALMON was a disappointment. It wasn't buttery and oily, but more dry and chewy. The OTORO was okay. It was fatty and melted in the mouth. I only wish it wasn't so cold; so I felt like I placed an ice cube in my mouth. I've never had GARFISH before. This white fish had a fatty content to it and was light. It had a slight sweetness to it. The SCALLOP was my favorite. It had a smoky flavor to it and was so tender. Overall, it was an okay experience. I was expecting more. Quality was okay, not amazing and flavor profiles were pretty simple. Some things were fresh and some things were not. The dessert was my favorite and it was the most basic thing. It was cantaloupe and their special in-house sauce. It was a sweet way to end the meal.
