Fantastic coffee which is of course the starting point. We popped in for coffee before climbing Kosciuszko and it looked so good we came back the next morning for breakfast. I enjoyed the pancakes with bacon, bananas and syrup - they were delicious! It has a cozy atmosphere and the latest papers are on hand for reading. Only issue was how busy it was which resulted in a lengthy wait for coffee both days. But it was Easter so we forgave them. A must do if you're in thredbo!

The hosts Julie and Steve are very welcoming. Just a short drive out of jindabyne on the way to threadbo it is a beautiful location and very peaceful. The property itself is very charming. The room we stayed in had a very comfortable bed and the little touches finished it off quite well. The property also has a sauna and a plunge pool which would be perfect following a day of skiiing. For dinner we opted to dine in and we're not disappointed. The house made pate was beautifully presented and garnished with onion jam, pickles and pickled cucumber and served with crunchy toast. The portion was plentiful and the taste and texture just perfect. For main we shared a veal shank. The meat was cooked to perfection and just fell off the bone. The mushroom gravy was also delicious. We shared a bottle of French wine and were so full that although tempted we couldn't manage desert. The breakfast was also plentiful with a good range of cereals, fresh fruit, juices, toast and cooked breakfast of eggs, bacon, tomatoe and mushrooms. This place is definitely worth a visit.

The coffee is excellent too - they are using ONA coffee and the barista really did a good job! We did think that the banh mi were a little pricy at $10.90 each - but perhaps we're just used to competitive city pricing.

For all you non-Aussies, it's totally normal for oily mushrooms and beans to be served at breakfast. Actually, the super high level of oil is why I rated the place a 3 start. It's aiiiight. Nothing special. Totally get the hashbrowns though! They fry them til they're super crispy and delicious. The servers will also bring you coffee if you order from them. They won't tell you though, so make sure to flag a person down if you want more than the black coffee they have in the buffet line.
