I was looking for a specific bedroom set from New Classic Furniture. Not only was Furniture 42 able to order the exact collection I wanted, they beat the price I had already negotiated elsewhere. What really earned this review, though, was the people. From the moment I walked into the store, it was obvious that owner Jackie Robinson Jr. has built more than a furniture business. He's built a team that genuinely cares about customers and takes pride in doing things the right way. Every interaction felt authentic. There was no pressure, no games, just honest people who wanted to help. I had the opportunity to work with Angelo and Thomas as well, and they left just as much of an impression as Jackie. They were respectful, hardworking, communicated well, worked together seamlessly, and took genuine pride in what they were doing. As a customer, it was easy to see they had been trusted, mentored, and given an opportunity to grow. One moment really stood out to me. After my furniture arrived, Jackie called to let me know everything was ready. During that conversation, he asked if I already had a foundation for the bed because he wanted to make sure I had everything I needed before delivery. As it turns out, I did need one. He had them in stock, added two Twin XL foundations to my order, and delivered them with the rest of the furniture that same day. The previous retailer never even mentioned that I would need a foundation. Jackie anticipated a need I didn't even know I had and solved the problem before it became one. That's customer service. Everything arrived together, was assembled professionally, and was exactly what I ordered. Furniture can be purchased almost anywhere. Character, integrity, and genuine customer care are much harder to find. If you're shopping for furniture in Albuquerque, I highly recommend giving Furniture 42 a chance to earn your business. They certainly earned mine.

Portmeirion Group is the parent company of a number of home goods companies. The announced plans include the retention of the administration staff of Nambé in New Mexico. Whew! Although the production of the Nambé products moved from Santa Fe to Asia a few years ago, it appears that these wonderful products, at least for now, will retain their ancestry, and their future, in The Land of Enchantment . . . . and in Stoke-on-Trent in Central England. This new little Nambé shop in Cottonwood Corners is one of two Nambé shops in Albuquerque. There is one in Santa Fe. Fingers crossed that it will remain.

I found The Bearded Iris hidden away in a strip mall. When I walked into the store, I was greeted by several friendly women. I met the owner, Danielle, and told her what I was looking for - - someone to repair my black pearl necklace. She said, "I can do that". She agreed to tie a knot between each pearl--I wish I would have had that done originally. I wasn't going to be in town for long, and she was able to meet my deadline! The price was reasonable, and she did a great job!  The Beaded Iris is a bead shop and much more. TBI has all types of beads 8and beading supplies. They have beautiful beads from all over the world: the Czech Republic, Africa, Italy, and Japan--to name a few. They also have beaded necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and broaches. I love a good local gift shop…read more I hadn't heard about this new spot in Nob Hill but just happened upon just walking by. It's not a very large space, but it's packed with local goods. They have everything from soaps to jewelry, but I will say it's a little more good focused. They have some in-house scent diffusers which I have one currently in my kitchen and I think it smells wonderful. I believe I went with the vanilla tobacco scent, but they had a few different options and the reed diffusers were super cute. The owner was super friendly and happy to share about all of their different products and where they were getting them from.
