We were looking for a sitter for our kids for the day and found Nana's Day Care. This was our first time leaving the kids with a baby sitter and what a wonderful experience it was working with Rosana! She was absolutely perfect and took really great care of the kids! This review is long overdue! My 2-year old has been attending Nana's since she was 5 months old. As a first-time mom, entrusting anyone to watch my baby was a little nerve wracking, to say the least. However, Nana absolutely eased my fears with her level of care, competence and communication. My daughter loves going to Nana's and has thrived in their care. Her vocabulary and interpersonal skills have really excelled, and she's made great friends at Nana's! Nana also does fun activities and crafts that are wonderful keepsakes. She and Athos are very nurturing and caring and bring out the best in my girl. We did a drop in for Nana's Day Care while we were on vacation, when we had a few hours of work. Our 4.5 year old boy and girl twins loved it! Nana and Athos gave off very warm and welcoming vibes. Their house is well situated with playground equipment (aimed for younger toddlers) right in the enclosed front yard, and there's a lovely playground right next door. Most of Nana's kids were younger (2ish), but they were so accommodating to our older kids - they did crafts, prepared activities for them, and Athos walked them to the playground while the younger ones napped. Our son started at Nana's when he was 4 months old and was there until he was a year old and we moved out of the area. Nana and Athos were amazing and loved our son like he was their own. As first time parents Nana made us feel incredibly comfortable and supported us with each phase, including transition to solids and moving to 2 naps. The space is cheerful with lots of toys while also allowing for safe exploration, which we really appreciated as our son became more mobile. Nana is very communicative and would often send pictures of our son during the day, always with a big smile on his face! Our daughter was in the care of Nana and Athos from the time she was 4 months old until she was 2 1/2. The care she got with the Oliveras was wonderful. The rooms the kids played in and the outdoor areas were always clean, organized and cheerful. All of the equipment used and toys offered were well cared for and clean. For the first year we got a daily report of her sleeping, eating and bathroom habits, which was very comforting for a working parent. When she was able to eat solid food, our daughter also received well rounded, healthy meals. Everything about Nana's Day Care was top notch. Our family had a great experience with Nana's. Their family works as a team with a lot of kindness and fun. They are also our neighbors and we always enjoy walking by and seeing the day care as a happy place in our neighborhood. Parents, you will get a very clear contract about prices, vacations, and rules around sickness. Nana's errs on the side of caution when it comes to illness and they are very prompt about reporting anything contagious that is going around. I never once felt that they weren't keeping up their end of the bargain and my kids were always happy and healthy there. Nana's Day Care has been the most wonderful place for our son to learn to socialize, while being extremely well taken care of, in a nice, clean and safe environment, with tons of toys, structured activities, and a fantastic playground. Nana and Athos are truly amazing and have been like second parents for our son. He has loved going there, and my husband and I have always been so impressed to see how calm, well-behaved, joyful and happy all kids there were, whenever we dropped off our son or picked him up. My son went to Nana's for 3 years (since he was 3 months old) and I can't rave enough about the positive experience we had. We sent our son to Nana's when he was 4 months old until he was 2.5 and his sister also joined Nana's when she was 4 months old. Nana and Athos are very loving and caring and we were very happy with the care they provided for our kids, we trust them wholeheartedly. Nana provided excellent communication about everything - from relaying how their day went to helpful tips on napping/sleeping/eating. The hours from 8am-5pm can make it a little tricky for full time working parents, but we made it work because there really wasn't any other daycare that I came across that made me feel as comfortable as Nana's. read more
