I have been seeing Nancy Hong during my pregnancy - particularly toward the end in my 3rd trimester. She is incredible, she asks lots of questions to get to the heart of your pain - and thinks holistically about your treatment plan.
I initially saw Nancy because I had extreme nerve pain from my growing uterus, and my OB said I just needed to "deal with it" because the pain medication for nerve pain wasn't safe for pregnant women. My OB said it would probably just get worse until I give birth. The pain was extreme and would keep me up at night. I went to see Nancy (first acupuncture experience) really out of desperation. I was skeptical - but thought I'd give it a shot. She didn't promise me much - mentioning that a lot of acupuncture treatments are not good in late pregnancy since they can trigger labor, however she could do a few things here and there.
After the first treatment, I slept through the night. Over the course of a month of weekly visits, my pain went from an 8/10 to a 2/10. Not only did Nancy do acupuncture treatments, but she suggested diet improvements and lifestyle changes that made a huge difference. She has helped me with many other pregnancy pains, including swelling. read more
