She is incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and easy to talk to, which made me feel supported throughout my pregnancy. # They take the liberty of canceling your appointments even without your confirmation!!!…read more If you ever want your doctor's appointment to be canceled, even without your knowledge, then you are in luck, and the Doctor's patient service manager takes all the credit and liberty in doing this. Personally, I don't know the doctor, but I saw really good reviews for her and her team. Thinking that they would all be professional and provide an excellent diagnosis and service, I scheduled an appointment with her by calling Sutter Health's patient care line back in June this year for a UTI/Vaginal discomfort diagnosis. I got very frustrated when they cancelled my appointment today (10/4) for the one I had on (10/6) without even asking for my confirmation. They called me around 11:30 am while I was still in an office meeting, and even before I could hear the voicemail and respond, I got a message on the Sutter Health app saying that my appointment had been cancelled. My husband and I kept calling the Los Altos office from noon to 3 pm to find out why and how they could proceed without my confirmation. We just kept hearing that the manager was still in her "lunch". Only after speaking with patient relations was I able to connect with the relevant person. The staff member (Betty) who spoke informed me that they had the right to cancel my appointment without my consent, and I should be aware of all the conditions related to OB/GYN that Dr. Shin would diagnose. We found these comments to be unprofessional and rude, lacking empathy for me. Additionally, in the reason for cancellation, they mentioned that since I have already established my patient care at another facility within Sutter Health, I should go there instead. This seemed absurd, as I had already scheduled an appointment with the Los Altos center earlier in June. How can a patient be expected to be aware of all this information? Isn't this the duty of a patient relations manager? In the end, the staff sounded a little rude and even said, "I know you have a patient relation number, and if you want to proceed with the grievance, go ahead." This kind of attitude in health care is unacceptable, and it is not fair to cancel a critical appointment without a patient's consent. My right as a patient to reasonable continuity of care, advance notice of appointments, and participation in care decisions was violated. I request that the Sutter Health Patient Care Team investigate this matter so that, in the future, no one can end up in a similar situation.

They tried everything from induction to breaking my water. But my baby was just too comfortable to come out. Mind you, I was going for all natural so I wasn't given any type of epidural anesthesia for the first 3 days. Until day 4, they wanted to try the maximum amount of induction medication and worried that I wouldn't be able to handle it, so I was then given epidural. One of the doctors broke my water on day 3 evening, hoping it would trigger the baby to go down more, but unfortunately didn't do much. Dr. Anderson came and greeted me on day 4; I told her that I recognized her because I was trying to get her to be my pregnancy OBGYN. She was the most caring doctor throughout the 4 days I was there. She came check on me as she promised every hour. She came in to let me know that she was performing a C-section for another mom so it would take longer for her to come back to see me. Then, she came right after she was done. In the evening of day 4, she recommended C-section because it was almost 24hr since my water broke, and the baby might be too big to come down any further any time soon. I asked if she can perform the C-section for me - although she was time for her to go home, she said yes and promised to be there for me. I agreed with the C-section and they started to get the surgery room ready. Dr. Anderson talked and explained every step throughout the surgery. My baby came out perfect and she was weighing at 9lbs. Perhaps that's why she wasn't going down. Again, how I till this day, wish I saw Dr. Anderson from day one of my pregnancy or my labor. I really think that my experience would be a lot better than it was. I recommend Dr. Anderson for all the moms out there.

She is so knowledgeable, would be thorough when answering my questions and go through all my options. She is friendly and always made me feel like a priority. I live about 45 minutes away but it was totally worth it to drive that far and I couldn't be happier with the care I received throughout my pregnancy!

When I conceived again in 2023, without a second thought our choice was to be with Dr Powar ( even though we live not too close to the clinic but it's all worth the drive). During my second pregnancy, I was in 35+ age category and again he made it super breezy without making me worry for any ifs and buts. Dr. Parsian is the most talented, gifted, gentlest, kindest, personable, most empathetic, most…read moresupportive, and most understanding OBGYN I have ever had (trust me, I've met quite a bunch throughout my TTC journey). She is so good that after she moved to a new practice hours away from my location, I decided to follow her because none can be quite comparable (especially in my location).  I started seeing Dr. Parsian, when i had my first pregnancy as a high-risk situation after another doctor, let me down in my late second semester (story for another day).  And what impressed me the most about her was that she was most certainly over qualified and experienced even though she was new in the practice and she immediately took charge of my situation and implemented several protocols to keep monitoring my baby until the very moment of birth. Even during my induction and vaginal birth, she was always around even when she wasn't scheduled to work that night...she rearranged things to make sure she was there to work that night, knowing how much trust I had in her and the precarity of the situation. What more could a first time high risk momma ask for? She assured me of the many options we had, and thankfully, we didn't have to advance beyond the basic labor and birth. I was simply confident knowing I was under her care (even when the nurses tried to rattle me with their non-individualized protocol). Even the baby was getting stuck. She had jelly tips and what not up her sleeves to make everything smooth and slippery, if you know what I mean :) What a talented and thoughtful doctor! She made sure I had no unnecessary pains or procedure (pitocin was wild, though). Then, her after birth care was so personal and was the best I could ever ask for. Even the nurses spoke so highly of her talents and skills and her personality (ask the nurses, they always know the best to work with). If you have read this far, you already know that I adore/love and I am a huge fan of Dr. Fatemeh Parsian and I have never met any OBGYN healthcare provider like her (and I have met a lot). She simply puts the CARE in healthcare, which is often lacking (I know firsthand because I am a Black woman, and my eyes have seen a lot in this frustrating health system).  Finally, I can't believe that I have not written this review, and we are already on baby number two. I get really emotional (as you can tell from this essay...lol) when writing about my experience with Dr. Parsian because she is simply the best I have ever had, and I wish all women would get to experience healthcare from her even once in their life. I don't think you would find a patient who doesn't have nice things to say about Dr. Parsian. I am really glad she is in this field pursuing her passion and making a difference in the life of women. I hope and pray her light never dims.

She is a very caring, patient, smart,…read moreexperienced, and funny physician who keeps up-to-date with the latest research, not only in OB/GYN, but also on female health overall! I normally am accustomed to being given bare minimum tests and treatments, even at top-tier practices, but Dr. Parsian was thorough and really detailed in asking many thoughtful questions to ensure that I get all of the proper breast tests, labs exams, referrals to other good doctors, etc. Here's an example of Dr. Parsians skill/care: because younger women have dense breasts, the xray tech behind mammograms doesn't always reliably show their cancer. (Almost 50% of women have dense breasts.) No one but Dr. Parisian took this into account and offered me additional testing via ultrasound! Any woman who wants to be listened to and cared for to the maximum will love this doctor! She's also hilarious and so relatable so if you're tired of being treated like a child when you're simply asking questions about your own body, this is the doctor for you. She is honest, real, brilliant, and deeply caring.

I needed to have a procedure done that I was very worried about after reading about it online. Every positive review of Dr. Young and his assistant Chin are true. They are everything and so much more in a gynecological practice. From the beginning, Chin has been on top of everything, extremely detail oriented, and has made scheduling/communication easy. Dr. Young in my first appointment never rushed me and took the time to answer every single one of my MANY questions. To say he is knowledgeable is an understatement. I feel fortunate to get to see him and can easily say he is the best gynecologist I have seen. He makes you feel like your symptoms, concerns, and thoughts all matter. He makes you feel heard, treats you with respect, and cares about you and the outcome. This has been very hard to find in my gynecological experiences. As for my procedure, I am blown away. I barely felt anything and he took my pain concerns very seriously. I am not afraid at all to get the procedure again, if ever needed, in the future with Dr. Young. He and Chin had me talking and laughing the whole procedure. 10/10 would do again. Thank you very much Dr. Young and Chin for all of your help and your continued care! Sincerely, "The soccer player"
