Dr Young has single-handedly restored my faith in doctors, especially in women's health. His assistant Chin is a delight and being able to text makes it so easy to book appointments and communicate rather than calling and leaving voicemails, never knowing when you'll hear back. My first appointment with him, he was very thorough and after assessing my health he recommended supplements to help maximize my fertility going into my late 30's and ordered a complete panel of blood work. When I wanted an ultrasound down, instead of sending me to another lab he did it himself and he's very gentle and not rushed at all. This is my first time writing a yelp review, but I really would like to share my amazing experience as I am very grateful. I needed to have a procedure done that I was very worried about after reading about it online. Every positive review of Dr. Young and his assistant Chin are true. They are everything and so much more in a gynecological practice. From the beginning, Chin has been on top of everything, extremely detail oriented, and has made scheduling/communication easy. Dr. Young in my first appointment never rushed me and took the time to answer every single one of my MANY questions. To say he is knowledgeable is an understatement. I feel fortunate to get to see him and can easily say he is the best gynecologist I have seen. He makes you feel like your symptoms, concerns, and thoughts all matter. He makes you feel heard, treats you with respect, and cares about you and the outcome. This has been very hard to find in my gynecological experiences. As for my procedure, I am blown away. He is smart, knowledgeable, caring, considerate and gives you options for treatment and care. He listens to you and ensures you are comfortable with the information you have. Exceptional experience!! This should be how a dcotor's appointment should be... From the moment i called to make an appointment, Chin, at the front desk, was very pleasant and welcoming. She called me yesterday, even though their office is not open to let me know that she had checked my insurance and so i was able to see Dr Young today. Dr Young is very down-to-earth. When he saw me waiting in the lobby, he introduced himself, said hello and told me i will be seen shortly. He was extremely knowledgeable, backed by his 20 + yrs experience in OB GYN, he was humble, receptive and very thorough. I don't give 5 stars too often....but this practice deserves it. I went there earlier in 2021....and I have been to many OBGYN's on the peninsula...trust me they are not that great when it comes to older women. They are only interested in babies....and quite frankly they are fairly dismissive toward women who no longer bare children. However Dr Young was different. Dr. Young was my OBGYN for my youngest son. He comes from a rare breed of doctors... confident, knowledgeable, humble and continuously learning. He used acupuncture on me for the c-section. Because of this, I didn't feel as much pain immediately after the surgery like I did with my previous c-section. Also in comparison, his c-section technique left less of a scar (and even removed the old scar) than my previous surgery. It's now hardly noticeable, whereas the previous one caused my skin to be very bumpy at the surgical site. All throughout the 9 months that he saw me, he gave sound and practical advice for my health. He also listened carefully when I had any concerns, addressing each one thoughtfully and practically. It was easy to contact him in-between appointments and even well after my son was born. Additionally, while I was seeing him, he also took a special interest in the well-being of my older son who has Down syndrome. He turned us on to non-traditional ways to address his cognitive and overall delays. All his recommendations were backed up by research. None of his recommendations had any bad side effects. This led us to do more research on our own and he was willing to let us bounce ideas off of him based on our own research... sharing possible side effects or pitfalls, as well as benefits. I find that Dr. Young is very careful. He strongly supports traditional medical practices, but also looks beyond at alternative ways if I am uncomfortable with using too much medication on myself or my family. Dr. Sam Young has been my ob-gyn for 20 years. He is an exceptional doctor. His professionalism and determination to help his patients are remarkable. His holistic approach is phenomenal. Every time I have doctor's visit, I don't leave his office without learning something. I could listen to him the whole day about how to regain energy, metabolism and how to stay young. He also recommends supplements for emotional, mental and physical support. If I have a health issue, he explains it very well that makes me understand my situation. He usually expresses it by diagram. My husband had hair loss issue and he was able to give him options and now he is happy with the regrowth of his hair. Most unprofessional health practitioners. I needed to schedule a timely appointment with a doctor. I spent time researching doctor and relaying back and forth with their front office, who was able to give me a next day appointment after collecting all my insurance and other personal details. So I stopped calling other doctors, and waited for next day. Next morning, front office lady updates me she had a chat with the doctor and gives me details for actual appointment. She tells me she tried but is unable to reach my (very popular) insurance and that I am better off calling them to verify. So I spent all the time getting in queue with insurance and verifying details to make sure we are all set for appointment in the afternoon. Insurance was surprised provider was unable to reach them. I immediately called them to let them know we are good to go from insurance standpoint. The is when lady informs me that the doctor can no longer service me and that I should find another provider. This was barely two hours since my morning call. I was surprised. The lady had been seemingly nice to me up until now (beware the sweet talk) so I tried to ask her what happened and see if there was another time or day that would be more convenient. This is when she is like no, the doctor thinks I am better off with another provider and can't service me. Duhhhh She says the doctor thinks I am better off with someone else since she couldn't verify my insurance and understands that patients always want to go in network. I told her I appreciate her concern, but I just got off the call with nsurance and provider was in network. So that should be a non issue . I asked her if schedule was inconvenient and told her I am happy to work with them on it. She mentioned that was not a problem, doctor just can't work with me and I should go find someone else so last minute. Whoever does that! And especially in healthcare! Such a waste of time! I was diagnosed with Neuropathy 2 years ago, after a very active life, former professional athlete, I took care of myself. I started having pain in my feet, it was a burning pain, with occasional numbness and the feeling of brittle toes. It prevented me from sleeping at times; I kept moving my feet because of the pain, I'd wake my wife up most nights. I went to see some of the top doctors in the Bay Area and they all shared the similar advice, manage the pain with meds and limited activity. I saw Dr. Young a couple months ago for a nagging pain across my upper back. It was a pain that has been bothering me for a few months. After taking a careful history, Dr. Young recommended micro-current for my pain. He patiently explained to me what it was. I agreed to give it a try on the right side of my upper back where the pain was worse. He fine-tuned the micro-current to my specific need. I felt immediate relief with the right current frequency. I injured my shoulder in April playing tennis. Developed frozen shoulder and visited orthopedic doctor twice in Aug, x-rayed, injection to shoulder, PT for a month. Still had pain and limited flexibility. Ortho doctor would not treat injury, so in frustration, decided to see Dr. Young. First visit after 1 hour treatment with FSM, pain reduced significantly and flexibility increased to 95% from 75%. After 2nd visit, pain almost completely gone and finally healing! Dr. Young treated my injury while the conventional orthopedic surgeon would not even address the cause of the injury after 2 office visits. I have one more treatment scheduled with Dr. Young and I have started to play tennis again after laying off for over a month. Not only is Dr. Young an OBGYN, but he is also licensed and trained in many forms of pain relieving alternative medicines. I have been having leg muscle problems for a couple of years and had been to many orthopedic and pain relieving MDs and alternative medicine practitioners until I found Dr. Young. I tried spinal, hip, piriformis and epidural steroid injections, lidocaine injections, traditional Chinese and trigger point acupuncture, and perineural injections. Then I heard about FSM. FSM is Frequency Sequence Microcurrent popular for pain relief in Germany and now is in the US. Dr. Young can run three different pain relieving programs at once on you targeting different problems. After my first 11/2 hour session, he cured the twitching or spasming that I had for two years in my thighs that made it hard to walk without a walker! What a miracle for me!! He takes a thorough history of all of your medical and pain problems first and then decides what type of treatment to use. It may take more than one or two treatments, depending on the complexity of your problem.
