Glenn explained the project and properties of glass very well provided a comprehensive list of tips techniques and tricks. He walked us through the studio and made this nervous learner, feel very good about diving into the project. Glenn offered his expert advice and was available to help. He was an extremely chill instructor that had me feeling confident and wanting to do another fused glass project! Glenn made it super easy and inconvenient to come pick up our glass pieces the following week. I'd highly recommend taking a class with Glenn and checking out the studio. He does a really great job making sure your project turns out amazing!

We attended the ice cube pop bean workshop, where we created little platforms made of ice cubes with cute little figurines on top. The workshop was very affordable given the amount of time we were there for and the variety of decorations we could choose from. The workshop instructor (also one of the owners) walked us through a concise tutorial on how to create our little creations. Picking out the colors of cubes and the figurines was the funnest part. Would highly recommend anyone who loves arts and crafts to stop by this studio!

From the moment we walked in Lea warmly welcomed us and showed us all of the available creative art projects, and there were many. My grand daughter decided on Pop into Fun with Ice Cubes and I chose to bead a bracelet. We were able to choose from thousands of Ice Cubes and accompanying decorations, and the the same for the beads. Lea was constantly there assisting and guiding us as we made our choices and created. I would so highly recommend Momo DIY for a few hours of pure joy to individuals, groups of friends, birthday parties for any age, and corporate team building events. I would give Lea and Momo 10 stars, if possible! Carol

This place is a little hidden treasure shop full of fun unique fabric, buttons, ribbons, thread, patterns and so much more. I've been dying to stroll in but I tend to hit up this neck of the woods (more like courtyard) after the sun goes down so I was ecstatic to drop in after a visit to Wells Fargo next door. This place was so packed full of eye candy that I just had to take a few photos. I purhcased a beautiful tropical piece of fabric that screamed Paradise and some extremely large wooden buttons they almost look like coconut shells. I'm on a mission to make make-up bags for my sisters and I. We'll see... hopefully finish this mini project before Christmas. The lovely lady who runs Findings is super sweet and warmhearted. I look forward to going back soon!

Yes, I had lusted for it after having seen another woman holding it and showing it off at a fabric store in San Jose. I was drawn to it, like a fly to a disgusting piece of poop. Except the aforementioned poop was a gorgeous silk fabric - and I wanted it. Badly. But I found out from her that I'd have to drive my lazy arse down to Carmel-by-the-sea to get this silk. And so I did. What I didn't realize, was that Carmel-b-t-s has absolutely no addresses. So my hunt became even harder. Luckily, there's this new technology called a "phone" that I was able to use to ask where it was exactly located. This cute little store, on San Carlos St (between Ocean Ave and 7th Ave in Carmel Square) has buttons, notions, ribbons, and some great but limited fabrics. There were some good fabrics for interior designs. Nancy, the owner, is just a peach. She's helpful and friendly and everything I wish most fabric store employees would be like. I heart Carmel, and this shop just adds to its charm. Would love to come again and look around for more good "findings" :-)

We stayed in the newer Boathouse, in the Castaway Room on the right end, ground floor. The privacy and quiet were fantastic! The couples shower feels amazing and overlooks the river. We saw lots of birds and a gorgeous sunset and sunrise colors. Nature sounds enveloped us, as well as the sage fragrance of the garden. The bed was super comfortable, good support, and new. The center room looked like it had slightly more view and the bed was lower to the floor. Being on the end gave us more privacy and zero noises from other rooms. We liked being higher off the ground because we could see a little farther from there. The caretakers came on site to take care of the gardens and kitchen and checked in with us to make sure our stay was flawless. The main building is an old historic building and garden so expect quaint and period details. The nautical artifacts were amazing. There is a fantastic coffee shop called The Power Plant 5 minutes away for coffee, smoothies, avocado toast, beer and snacks, so we didn't mind having just the basic coffee and tea in the room. For us, the quiet, the views, the energy and location were perfect! If you stay at Captain's Inn, you can walk to the coffee shop, visit the shops in town, eat at the fantastic marina fresh seafood restaurants, and walk to the two touring places that take you to see the otters on kayak. We used Kayak Connect with was great, very easy and great guides. This is the closest and best place to stay to see the otters.

There's two levels of rooms at this hotel with some in the main building (decent views) or the back house (amazing views) and our room was fortunately in the latter, but did cost extra. The Good: *Amazing views of the Salinas River hugging the edge of the ocean from the back rooms. *Community Patio deck to enjoy *Contactless check-in where they email you the door code the day-of. *HDTV w/ full compliment of channels *Keurig-like coffee maker in room *Fireplace for heat and romance The Meh: *They claim there's food in the main building for breakfast, but all we found were old expired granola bars. *I guess if you want a bottle of some alcohol waiting for you in your room, then you can let them know at least a day in advance--but ofc they don't tell you this until the *day of.* We spoke to another guest who had the same beef, but it's whatever I guess. *Wifi was abysmally slow but Carissa was able to stream a show before she went to bed, so put that in your pipe and smoke it. *Back house rooms have bathtubs only and we're not fans...0_o The Ugly: *Bed was incredibly rock hard and elevated 2' into the air so you need a stepstool to get on and off. My back was in shambles the next day. Conclusion: Honestly the views are almost worth coming back here for despite all the complaints, but the terrible bed would have me thinking twice...
