I refer models to lingerie boutiques to obtain their outfit for their shooting session. I shoot four or five sessions a week and recommend that models do not skimp on the quality of the lingerie they purchase. So since I am new to the Upstate area, having moved in from Manhattan, I called this shop and spoke with a gentleman who answered the phone. He was rude, impatient, and had no interest in finding out whether they carried certain brands of lingerie. Instead, he suggested that I drive to his shop from Greenville and look for myself. I am unsure what was wrong with this gentleman, but it would seem that he is completely clueless about customer service and has a snobby air about him to boot. Given the fact that I am a well known photographer whose work appears in Vogue magazine, I have not experienced this abysmal customer service directed toward me before from a lingerie shop. Usually, I am treated with respect and the sales staff falls all over themselves to assist me any way they can. Needless to say, this gentleman needs to be fired, and if he is the owner he needs to retire asap. Nobody deserves to be treated like shit, and those who treat others like shit, are shit. read more

I had to leave 1 star, because there is no option for less. I have shopped at this store several times. Each time I leave shaking my head. One time Nancy asked my child to leave the store (she was 12). Yesterday though was the frosting on the cake. Nancy was determined not to show me the size pants I asked to see, ( I had to say in a firm voice "Give me the pants") and she fought with me about the length. BTW I bought the smaller tall pants, and I'm wearing them NOW!!! If there was ANYONE who had stock on Vanilia pants I would shop there!!! We drove an hour and a half to get to this store. I spent 600.00 on 3 pairs of pants. The woman in the next dressing room was asked about 100x how was she doing and was asked to get off her cell phone. We couldn't agree more. We stopped in today and my husband asked if I liked a certain shirt. I said I didn't like the fabric. The salesperson went ballistic and said he wouldn't show us anything else because of my attitude. We've never experienced anything quite like that. I think it's time he retires!! Stay away. Wish I could choose 0 stars. My husband bought a pair of slacks on sale. The size was marked incorrectly. He wanted to exchange for a different size. Was RUDELY told Final Sale. I could almost understand the policy (although WHY NOT simply exchange sizes and promote good customer service) but it was the way the salesman was terribly nasty. We are seasonal-locals and will NEVER shop in either of the stores ever again. We can't even walk by in our way to shop the other wonderful stores on Main Street without remembering the terrible experience. read more

Nancy's Fancys has been one of my favorite shops in Highlands for OVER 30 YEARS! I cannot read the few negative reviews on here without wondering WHAT sort of attitude those shoppers brought in with them. Always warmly greeted, overhear same welcome for other shoppers coming in, and thanking on exit. Nancy's has a HUGE array of merchandise, includes many styles of lingerie, sleepwear, slippers and multiple designer daywear lines. Nancy and her team are extremely knowledgeable and helpful; she straight-up can fit my DD's comfortably, brilliantly size jeans & leggings, and special-order anything in-store if the size isn't there (or we need more than one). Nancy's Fancys also has items you simply can't find, like beautiful bed jackets for expectant moms to have in hospital, zip up/step in robes your Grandma loves, reversible dresses and jackets for savvy travelers, SPANX (God forbid you forgot to pack!), and exclusive one of a kind jewelry lines. This shop is open year-round and on Sundays (unlike many in Highlands), so items are regularly updated for seasonal needs. It's also great to send the guys to the attached men's store so we can shop in peace! read more

I was in Highlands, NC last week and went into Nancy's Fancy's looking for white pants. I found the store crowded but Nancy couldn't have been more helpful. She kept handing me styles and various brands of white pants until I found the exact pants I was looking for. I would say definitely check this store out and be sure and ask for help if you know what you are looking for. Loved the small, well-stocked store experience and will definitely return on my next visit. read more

I was shocked at how my family was treated in this store! I didn't know about it until after we left and my 17 yr old daughter told me what was said to her. And in a separate conversation my husband shared how he was treated as "unworthy" to shop here. My husband is a physician btw so he would have been a good customer if treated well. As far as my daughters story: Husband and I were in back of store where the men's section is located shopping for him. Daughter was tired so walked back towards front and found a bench to sit on. At which point the store clerk said "there are benches outside for you to use". My daughter responded that her parents were in the store shopping and she was waiting on her. I asked if she carried sheer nude tights (I was heading to a wedding and needed them asap)...and was met with ridicule over the fact that I did not use the popular southern terminology of "pantyhose". I am quite certain it was not a misunderstanding, so perhaps a rather pathetic and passive aggressive attempt to feel superior to her customers? Who knows. Then, upon checking out she suddenly announced a $30 cc minimum (And no mention of a restocking fee which I later noticed on the hand written receipt), so I wound up buying 2 pairs of tights/stockings/pantyhose/whatever you want to call them. Store policy is "store credit only" within 10 days, but in addition, stamped on receipt is a note that says "If return is accepted, a 15% restocking fee may be applied." I exchanged two items which I had folded and put back in bag as store had delivered them. The owner charged that fee which she said was to steam and rehang the items. It cost me $53. I could have had them dry cleaned for $10. I am sure she or her employee did this for no cost if they even did it. I find this to be quite questionable. I have heard from others since that the owner has a bad reputation with the local population which does not shop in her store.
