Wow. I have never…read morebeen to a "yarn shop" like this. I really don't think this should be called a yarn shop. It's more of an antique shop type of feel, if a horder enjoyed a hobby of knitting. There is yarn - kinda sorta - but there's exponentially more chotchkies. I had to actually step back and take it all in - yep, the chotchkies are all for sale, so they're there on purpose. Yarn. Meh... kinda. Nothing that grabbed my attention and made me want to buy some. I drove out of my way to come here? Good thing I parked where I didn't have to pay for parking. Yikes. What they did have a LOT of for sale was hand-knit things: socks, dishcloths, hats. So peculiar. What knitter wants to go to a "yarn shop" and buy someone else's hand-knit goods? This shop was so baffling. What really emphasized the awkwardness & weirdness of this shop (I can't call it a yarn shop) was the person behind the counter. She wasn't friendly, nor welcoming; she seemed bothered that I was there. Trust me, I became just as bothered to be there. I walked out empty-handed, completely befuddled, and kicking myself for driving so far just for this really-not-at-all "yarn shop".

We met some of his family who all helped make our visit memorable. Our dinner was delicious, with some old standbys like roast beef and mashed potatoes but also new to me dishes like buttered noodles, glazed ham meatballs and chow-chow. We went to the Quilt shop after and I've never seen so many beautiful hand made quilts in one place. The designs are beautiful and the work is immaculate. They had so many other items in the shop as well.

I found out 5 days later they didn't have the yardage I ordered and paid for. In fact they had about 1 yard left. I worked with Lauren over the phone for about an hour attempting to find something that would match and came up with a fabric they had 9.5 yards of (this 1 hour was time I didn't have!). In changing fabrics I needed to then change up what I was doing for my binding as that was going to be the backing they had 9.5 yards of. I found something that would work which I only needed a yard of. Because of the incredible inconvenience in delay in contacting me as well as taking more of my time due to their inaccurate quantity on their website I asked if they could just include the extra 1 yard of fabric in the order. They said they could not do that! I spoke with Marilynn who lost my sale of 10 yards due to not including essentially .5 yard as a 'apologies for your inconvenience' which equated to roughly $5.00 retail cost. Poor customer service and I DO NOT recommend trusting their website is being tended to nor do they attempt to right the wrong in the event their website is inaccurate. In addition....waiting to notify the consumer immediately is unacceptable.

claustrophobic? this isn't the store for you. there is sooooo much stock. the shelves are packed…read moreand literally overflowing. there are boxes and boxes of yarn stacked on the floor, making the walkways a tight squeeze. it can be a bit overwhelming. but do you have something specific you're looking for? this store will have it. absolutely. and the owner is such a expert knitter she can glance at a pattern and suggest a yarn to meet your needs (and then find it for you as hunting/gathering in that inventory would otherwise take days). i've never been steered wrong. she'll also drop random knitting knowledge bombs on you, like why a certain alpaca blend won't make a lasting garment vs. a different blend, etc. and let's face it: if you're a serious yarn aficionado, hunting in that massive stash for days would be heaven. i never leave this store without a special skein.

Recently I took a vacation day and was camping in the area and decided to check them out. Much to my surprise they have a private parking lot in the back. From the back entry there was a porch that had some free items that didn't meet their resale requirements. Inside was a vestibule with $1 clothing that had minor blemishes on. On the tags that I took the time to look at it was written what was wrong which I thought was nice. The deal of the day was ladies tops which were half off. Inside the shop I was greeted by two older ladies sitting at chairs chatting. The overall store is about the size of an efficiency apartment and is a very narrow space. The organization was done well and knick knacks were proudly displayed. There were probably about 8 customers in the tiny space, plus myself and the two clerks which felt like a crowd in such a narrow space. It was impossible to social distance. Ladies clothing and knick knacks dominated the store Children's clothing, toys, and housewares were very limited. While browsing the racks I did find several tops, all half off, as well as some jeans for $3. Prices were very reasonable. The dressing room is part of the bathroom, which seemed to also be a kitchen as it had a microwave in it, and also a toothbrush at the sink. Overall with the ladies sitting and talking at the entrance, to the personal items in the bathroom it felt like I was in someone's house. At that point I didn't know if this was a charity room thrift store, or just someone selling used, donated items for profit. However at the register they did have a sign showing how much money the store has donated to various charities over the years and it was impressive. When I told the cashier I can't believe there wasn't any Yelp reviews they had no idea what Yelp was! Probably not a regular stop for me during COVID due to the distancing aspect but worth checking out if you're not concerned.
