I agree with J.B., the chicken tikka was especially spicy, but it was cooked perfectly. The chicken pieces were bite-size and tender. That being said, it is enough to feed two or three for dinner. Quite a generous serving, indeed I have leftovers for tomorrow. Read if you have a swipe-version credit card: Unlike J.B., I did have a problem--a customer service problem that arguably may or may not be their fault. I, being an American, have a Visa card with which I attempted to pay. It's an American Visa card, which means that it is a swipe card--sure, that's pretty standard. But in the UK, the credit cards use a different technology (called chip and pin). This place would not accept my card! Let me say it again, they wouldn't accept my Visa Card, accepted anywhere, right!!!! Wrong, they swiped the card, and then they said that they didn't accept American cards. I felt somewhat intrigued and insulted, especially when I saw an old fashion credit card reading machine behind the counter (the mechanical type, where you have to use carbon paper). I still wanted my food, so I found a cash machine (that was just down the block). Though I'm pretty sure what they did was in error and that Visa Corporation would probably have something to say about it, I advice Americans and Canadians: have CASH handy. The food was to die for, or maybe to at least sacrifice a first born for! Our chicken tikka starter was super spicy and incredibly tasty. The Lamb Korai and Chicken Balti we shared were both unbelievably good. Definitely on the hotter side but that's just fine by me. The peshwari naans were really moist and thick and full of goodness. I do not have a single complaint about the food, and I think that Brighton Grove ranks up with the best Indian resturants in Newcastle full-stop, not just against other takeaways. If you get a chicken bucket from here you can get some fries as well on top and also get a free drink as well. This is often given away - but ask. The drink selection available from here is Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite and Fanta. Their average price depends on the amount of chicken you want from here, but seems very reasonable. The store is a tad small in terms of seating, so when it gets busy it might be hard to find a seat, luckily it wasn't busy on my visit as it seems the queuing system would also struggle, due to the size of the tills, albeit this is slightly balanced due to the location of another KFC branch with the rest of the fast-food outlets elsewhere in the Metrocentre, as I recall the only other KFC nearby is about a 15 minute car ride away in Newcastle city centre, which opened after a long absence in the city around two years ago as I recall. The person who served me seemed polite, he also offered me a dip, which normally I struggle to explain to the staff at my local and toxic Middleton branch in my hometown of Manchester, I also struggled to get a response from him when I asked about a digital loyalty card being combined with a physical one, as I also like to keep a physical copy of my loyalty cards, for example, if my friend goes to get it for me, or in the likely event (which always happens) where for some reason the scanner can't recognise the QR code on my phone, which gets highly frustrating. Having just eaten at Mod (which I went on to regret), I did not eat here, also I couldn't due to my dietary requirements which meant I could probably only have a plate of dust, with most items here all having gluten in unless I wanted a plate of dips perhaps with nothing to dip in.
