Kebab Kid - Chicken kebab + Rubicon Mango = heaven

Eating at Kebab Kid is one of my fondest memories from my semester in Oxford. However, most of my…read moreKK experiences were at the other branch, on Cowley Road. THAT Kebab Kid would get 5 stars from me in a heartbeat. Great service, good amount of tables, delicious food served quickly, convenient location... yeah. Cowley gets 5 stars. Gloucester Green... 3 stars. There's about 5 seats total in this restaurant - it's definitely more geared for takeaway. I'd recommend the takeaway option myself, as the seats and counters that are there aren't the cleanest. The service was decent, the food delicious as always, and they have Rubicon Mango, which is like nectar from the gods. This location is convenient for those staying at Oxford's hostels or just stepping off/on the bus or train, since it's near both stations. If your visit to Oxford is quick, stop in and grab a kebab naan to go. If you have more time to spend... hop on the bus to Cowley Road to sit down and enjoy your meal. It's across from Tesco and the logo looks like a cross between Elvis and Johnny Bravo- you can't miss it.

I wish I could like this place but this meal missed the mark…read more Oxford suffers from few takeaway places in the city center surrounding Banbury and Gloucester Green. And no proper fish and chip shops. So this place had a tall order to fill to chip craving. Points earned for naan use instead of pita on the doner kebab. Point for chips that stayed crispy despite styrofoam packaging through the short cab ride up Banbury Road to north Oxford. No points for the foul meat in the doner - it tasted more artificial than it should. Horrid white creamy sauce applied on top. Mayo? Yuck. Definitely not tsatziki. No points for the lack of heat in the chili sauce. No points for the four pound fifty price tag for a doner and chips. In short, in this town where parents are more likely to pop in to take their children out to gastropub food or a proper restaurant, you will be hard pressed to find a good kebab or chip shop in town near Gloucester green. Btw, where was Hassan's van?? Bc it wasn't on Broad street tonight.

Today we were at our hotel trying to find some where to eat, then our waiter (at the hotel) told us…read moreabout some good Indian restaurants and that was one of them... so we when there and he was not wrong. The servers were incredibly amazing, the place was neat and tidy, and the food was the best part! It was the best I had! Back home we had average Indian restaurants but I thought that we had the best, and well Oxford has the best, making our Indian places back home are not as good so now that we had our food, I told them that I would leave the best review ever in the history of that place and well I don't know if it is or not. And did I not mention the area of the restaurant, a neat little pub right next to the place. And here are some recommendations for me for starters? Popadoms, main course? Chicken curry, for dessert? Masala tea (a go to for me) and ice cream (choose vanilla if you are a acceptable person if you have a good appetite like me than you would like to choose Swiss chocolate big hit for me)

It was a great meal, interesting menu with old favourites and new items! A hidden gem just north of…read morethe city centre.
