Giving this restaurant a 2 star review only because the panini I got was actually delicious…read more However, I have never felt more disrespected in a place before. My friend and I were on our 45 minute (very quick) lunch break in between classes and popped by starbucks for her and then this place for me. We got in and I immediately began ordering my food while my friend sat down and got us a table. She was eating her almond croissant while I finished ordering and was immediately yelled at by the owner for "disrespecting" the business. While I understand eating a chain croissant in a local restaurant can be disrespectful, I still find it incredibly rude that I, a paying customer, could not have a peaceful order as the owner was then basically kicking us out. My friend was extremely complacent and apologetic and was still yelled at as we waited for my sandwich. We were then forced to wait outside in the cold for my sandwich because of the ordeal. I find it even more disheartening that as a paying customer could not wait inside for my sandwich, while other customers who were doing the same thing, got to wait in the warmth. It was just such a bad experience and I would not recommend to eat in as you may be disappointed by the staff and their lack of customer service and respect for tourists. In a city as widely-known as "Stratford-Upon-Avon" you would think you want as much business as possible right? Well, that doesn't seem like the truth here and I wanted no more than to revoke my order and payment and take my business elsewhere. I have never seen this sort of behavior from any restaurant anywhere, even as a person who has worked in customer service for a major part of my life, I was extremely disappointed and will not be returning, even if the sandwich was really good. It's really not worth my time or anyone's time or money if you are going to get yelled at.

Disappointed because I was taking my Chinese in-laws for Subway during their first trip to the UK and was refused a cup of hot water! "how about tea then? But leave the teabag out" I said "no, we can't do that" "but it's just water...?" "but we don't serve it" "yes you do, right there - the hot water tap, but you normally put a tea bag in it. Just leave it out..." So after much disagreement she sold me the 'tea' at £1.50 and put the teabag in a separate bag. Oh and then they didn't even have a tray. Upon examining the bill afterwards I asked why I'd been charged for the drinks and cookies separately when they should have been included in the meal deal. "do you want me to draw it for you?" she said. (cheeky bitch) "excuse me?" "I have a long queue now because of you, what don't you get?" "well, you've charged me for things that should have been included" "your maths is not good is it?" she said. Now I'm not a maths professor but I know that £25 for subway is too much ... This was simply the worst possible example of a subway I've ever been to and I'm sorry to have taken people there on their first visit to the UK To top it all off, the food was dry, the meat was off and was generally rubbish SHAME on you

This was one of the best meals that we had during our 10 stay in the UK. Farm to table food - Brit style, done right! Lots of game and fish on the menu. I am probably an odd ball but I really enjoy chicken livers so that was what I began my meal with. They were flavored so well and were quite enjoyable. I shared with hubby and he liked them as well. Son had the scallop special appetizer and shared with Dad too. They enjoyed those sweet succulent medallions very much. Then they brought a very nice pallet cleanser of watermelon shots. It worked perfectly and was very refreshing. For my main I had the duck. Not the most tender in the world but very flavorful. I also like the accompanying sides. Hubby had the fish special which looked lovely. Son had the steak which he, of course, devoured. Just a quick note on the drinks. Hubby likes to try any local ales when we are traveling. He was not disappointed here. They were serving a local brew that you can pretty much only get around Stratford upon Avon. Son was worried that it would be served warm as they like to do in England but the was served cold. Both the men really enjoyed it. It was a dark beer but not bitter. Service was good. A bit slow but so incredibly friendly. The restaurant wasn't very busy as we were there quite early so we had some time to talk with our server about the food and town.
