I used to get massages almost monthly but since I've moved to this area, I've been preoccupied with other things but with all that's going on, I decided it's time to treat myself to some pampering. I found Nani via Groupon and couldn't pass up the offer. I was able to book online though it was almost a month out. When I arrived, I was greeted by two very nice receptionists in a lobby that was warm and welcoming. I was instructed to fill out the required paperwork then called back to my room to meet my masseuse. The room was dimly lit and set up for the job at hand. I was not familiar with Nani but apparently they are known for using bed like structures instead of the typical massage tables. It was definitely unexpected but made for an even more relaxing experience. My masseuse was a bit heavy handed but I did request for very firm. I will ask for not so firm for my next one. I also included hot stones to my massage. The heat on a cold, raining day was soothing and exactly what I needed. After the service, I checked out at the reception desk and was asked if I wanted to take advantage of their March special which is becoming a VIP member for an introductory rate of $27. It includes one 60 minute massage once a month and includes add ons like the hot stones, aromatherapy, etc for free. I decided to give it a try and become a VIP. Next appointment is set for April. Overall, I found Nani to be a wonderful place for comfort and relaxation. By the time my massage was over, the lobby was full of clients so I assume I am also in good hands. Mykel was amazing and kind and I loved the room set up - instead of being on a massage table they have it on a comfy mattress type so you feel like you're on a bed and the massage therapist moves around you on the surface. Management won't even respond to the BBB complaint. I contacted the BBB threatened small claims court to get my refund after cancelling they charged me 2 months straight after written notice and a confirmation VIP was cancelled. They even changed my appointment online (I sent management proof) so they could keep the money and not refund me. I went here for 4 years and the management has gone downhill and the front desk staff are RUDE! I had to fight to get a refund after giving 30 days notice! I was restricted from Nani (ok they have 1 local location and one in FL really) lol, found another place BETTER service, BETTER prices and BETTER massages (I was in pain for 2 weeks after the last massage which is why I cancelled) for your money! I booked a two massages over a month in advance for a deeply personal and difficult time, supporting my husband through the one-year loss of his mother and trying to find a moment of peace before my upcoming surgery. Two days before the appointment, I received a cancellation notice because the massage therapist had been fired. The staff openly shared details about "violations of code of conduct," which was inappropriate and unprofessional. What was even more concerning was being told that no management is ever on site, no one can make decisions, and no alternative appointment or gesture of goodwill could be offered. Their next availability was a month away, completely unrealistic given our situation. I emailed their management (and general inbox) immediately and received zero response. This experience showed a complete lack of professionalism, organization, and customer care. What was supposed to be something healing during a painful time instead became another source of stress. My husband and I have been part of their VIP membership program for several years. Before that, we took a break for a couple of years but were also VIP members for some time. In October, I left my job, so we decided to put our membership on hold. A couple of months later, we chose to cancel our memberships entirely until our financial situation improved. Since our accounts were separate, we had to submit our cancellations individually. Unfortunately, my husband's massage appointment was canceled twice. When he finally attended his appointment, he submitted his cancellation form. However, because it was a couple of days into December, we were charged $69 for January. Given our financial situation, I respectfully requested a refund, but they declined. It seems the $69 is more important to them than retaining me as a customer. I find this to be poor customer service and will seek a different company when we're ready to start back. read more

I was a member for over a year. I had to take a break for medical reason. I come back hoping to get some soreness out of my back muscles. Instead I come out limping and still am 3 weeks later. I have tried to talk to the office they tell me to Email. So I have Emailed the owner/manager of this 1 business and no response and I still have no response. The worst part is after I called the office then went back to them they had not said anything to management. It took the email for it to be brought to their attention. I enjoyed my msaage but there ere few things that bothered me. I arrived on time for my appointment but I did not take into consideration that I would have paperwork to fill out. I wish they would have told me so that I would have come earlier. That cut 5 minutes into my hour massage. Then, when I signed the paperwork there was a notice that said that the massages end 7 minutes before their designated end time. Ok...makes sense, but again, these are important things to communicate beforehand. So I went in, asked to use the restroom quickly and then laid there waiting for about 5 minutes after I got back. So now we are talking about 20inutes shorter session. During my session, I had indicated pretty deep pressure and she spent the first 10-15 minutes with very light touch. I naively thought she was just warming me up. But then I was asked to turn over and I realized she thought she was done on my back. I specifically came in because I was having a lot of back pain and I indicated as such on my paperwork. I asked her to do more on my back and she did an excellent job...but then we ran out of time so it was quote a tease. My wonderful coworker referred me to Nani last month. I'd been dying for a half-decent massage as my last one was over a year ago... well overdue. The front office staff is extremely accommodating, happy to answer any and all questions, and very welcoming. My massage therapist, Gabrielle, focused on my focus areas, used the right amount of pressure, and was excellent overall (I did mention to her and the front desk that it was the best massage I've ever had and I stand by that)! This place I made an appt for and they charges me $55 for missing the appt I thought was at 10 am but never received an email or notification in email of my appt. I assumed I was going to have to do paper work and they sent none. I am furious and was given no text or email to find what time it was. I called at 9:45 and they told me I had missed my appointment and was being charged a $55 missed fee. I am very upset S no communication happened and I lost out on money and time. They rip off. Well, It is the most unique massage spa that I have ever experienced (Barnone) and I got a full 90 min massage (unlike other places I've experienced). The atmosphere is one of calmest I've ever been in and I've been to 3 others massage places, so that should tell you something. The staff is trained with the utmost professionalism, EXTREMELY knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful (what's not to love?). Now, one of the best parts, beside the massage itself... The large platform bed is unbelievably comfortable (bonus) and allows the therapist to move around and over you easily. In lieu of Covid 19, they are taking the necessary measures to ensure the client's safety. I felt well "beyond safe" during my whole experience while there. I've had hundreds of massages at spas around Cincinnati and countless other cities during work travels. Not exaggerating. I also train and lift a lot of weights so I'm constantly sore and have ridiculous knots and Uber tight muscles. I've never found a therapist that has been able to inherently understand my needs and consistently address them until I had a massage from James at Nani. You guys, he is a human body genius. I've never felt better than after a session with him-even though I might curse at him occasionally when he's putting in the work. He is the best. Hands down. After a busted first experience at Nani, NM really delivered on our second try! Upon coming in, I noticed that the front was fully staffed, and when I called in to confirm, someone was able to answer the phone, which was an issue I previously had. I finally got in, and worked with Darlene. She was awesome and really met my comfort level. My back has so much tension and I left leaving renewed. The room was very clean, smelled so nice, perfectly dimly lit, and the bed was very soft. The set up was different from any spa I've ever been to. Nani is officially hands-down my favorite massage space. I actually signed up for a monthly membership. I'm really glad I gave Nani another try and I'm excited to come back in July! read more

I would not recommend Nani to anyone. The main issue is the continued cancelation of appointments over the past 4 months. Over 5 and these are booked 6-8 weeks or longer booked in advance. No early warning outside of the morning of, and today's cancelation was no notification. I have asked for a refund for Jan and Feb And the cancelation of our membership and the respond was i cant, my manager would need to review this. I would like to say at least one positive thing anout Nani, but I can't think of one. The waiting area has hard, short benches, not at all inviting. When my therapist came out she didn't introduce herself and didn't ask me what I was looking for or where I needed extra attention. When I told her during the massage areas that needed attention or to skip it was as though she didn't hear. The whole experience was very mechanical. After the massage, I am used to the therapist waiting with water and a check up, but she was not to be seen. I had purchased 2 Groupons and the second was for my daughter. On her appointment she found the music too loud and was told it could not be adjusted, nor could it be changed to a different sound and when she told the therapist she could not relax, she was told to get dressed and the therapist walked out of the room. She told the front desk of her discomfort and they offered her another appointment. Why, for the same experience? She left and they took not only the Groupon but charged my credit card. I called the shop, but no one answered and I left a message. When I got no response I went in asking for a refund on my credit card. The owner was in a massage and there was no other manager available. The front desk told me she was late, which she was by about four or five minutes, tho I don't know how that caused the problem. I have now read other reviews saying they charged credit cards after a cancellation, but this was not a cancellation, they were paid twice for no service. Best advice-BEWARE read more

My experience here was incredible. Other reviews have complained about bad service to people using a groupon, but I used one and felt like they treated me wonderfully regardless of the discounted price I was paying. We were charged twice a month for no services provided. Then he tried to cancel it and we were subsequently charged three more times after we were told he successfully cancelled. We had to call her again and they said they were removing our card from their system. I am on the verge of canceling my credit card all together to keep them from continuously charging us after we have cancelled. We have not been reimbursed for this latest charge which was well over the 30 day cancellation policy. I feel completely taken advantage of and thus far they are still charging us, after telling us we successfully cancelled. They have not refunded this last charge which was after the 30 days needed to cancel. They have charged us hundreds of dollars for no services provided. Extremely clean. Relaxing atmosphere. Nancy is AMAZING. I prefer a deep tissue/therapeutic massage vs a complete relaxation massage. Nancy communicated pressure level (making sure it was exactly how I wanted and needed) on multiple occasions throughout my massage. My muscles are completely relieved and my body is relaxed and rejuvenated. I would highly recommend Nancy (especially for seasoned massage goers and those with muscle tension). Truly the scheduling at this place is a joke. The first time I booked, the receptionist called me 10 minutes before my appointment time to tell me one of the massage therapists had an emergency and needed to reschedule. I live a half hour away, so I was already on my way. Brushed it off, rescheduled. Got a call the day before the rescheduled appointment to confirm both mine and my husbands appointments. Confirmed. I even called while I was on my way the second time to tell them I was stuck in traffic and would be five minutes late, no problem they said. Walked in the door and they said they only had one appointment booked and that I had called to cancel one of the appointments earlier that day (I did not). So again after attempt 2 I have not received any massage. The receptionist attempted to remediate the issue by offering us an upgrade worth $15 each at our next massage. At this point I have trouble believing that our massages will even happen. My Groupon toward the service has expired at this point due to the company repeatedly cancelling on us literal minutes before the slated appointment times so I guess I'm just out $80. read more

I would give this place ZERO stars if I could. They are unproductive, rude, unprofessional and their business ethics are nonexistent. I bought my mother a Groupon for a massage. After her visit she was offered a membership which she was told she could cancel at ANY TIME within the next 30 days. She canceled the same week and was told by an associate that "she was all set". Her card was still charged after she didn't fill out a form that was sent in an email. I called to follow up with a lady named Taylor who proved to be an unprofessional incompetent person who I hope to NEVER speak with again. She was not helpful at all so I asked to see the "agreement" that allegedly outlines the form being apart of the cancellation process. She agreed to send it and put me on hold. When she finally came off hold she refused to send it to me and accused me of being "aggressive" and hung up. Please know that I never made a single threat, raised my voice or said anything derogatory to this woman. Likewise, I wonder why she would use the term when referring to me. I am left to assume that this is due to my race and Taylor was displaying her own bias and prejudice.I am confident that she would not have used this language to describe the same interaction with a white woman. I caution everyone (especially poc) to not patronize this business. I had a decent experience here. The space is very nice and relaxing. Beth was my masseuse and she gave a fantastic massage, although she was pretty chatty despite the fact that I put no communication on my card. I could have done without the sales pitch 2/3 of the way through my massage. I understand they have to do that, but the timing was so awkward. Of course the front desk staff will also pitch you the membership plan. They also have a silly policy that their massages end 7 minutes before the hour is up. I get they probably book back to back every hour so this is to give the masseuse time to get ready for the next client, but my massage didn't actually begin until 5-7 minutes past the hour, so I really only got a 45 min massage when it is advertised as one hour. read more
