Love, love, love the girls they send to me. I use them every week. And for emergency calls, they are on top of it, within a few hours!

Pinch Sitters Agency - PINCH SITTERS

    Pinch Sitters Agency

    (39 reviews)

    Midtown East

Our sitter, Alessandra H., endangered our baby, lacked basic training and was completed…read moreuninterested in the job. We were disappointed given the good reviews of the agency and the sitter's profile, which claimed that she has "15+ years of experience with newborns," "focuses on children having a good time" and "gives children devoted attention." - Our sitter left our baby unattended for 20 seconds on a 3-feet high changing table (recorded on cameras that we disclosed), walking away to look for a change of clothes. This is a huge safety concern for a 4.5 month infant who is able to independently roll and could have resulted in serious injuries. There is a safety strap that she could have buckled if she needed to walk away. - Sitter pulled a dirty onesie over his head after a blowout. The best practice would be to pull the onesie down past the shoulders/legs to avoid smearing poop over his head. This further demonstrated her lack of experience in caring for infants. - According to the agency, sitters are prohibited to be on their phones when children are awake unless responding to parents or in case of emergency. Our sitter was on her phone the entire time he was awake and ignored him when he was distressed and crying loudly for food. - Our sitter left the apartment twice to pick up lunch/dinner and asked me to babysit. This defeated the point of paying for a sitter so I could catch up on sleep. We assumed she would bring her own meals or order delivery since we are paying for her to be available. - Sitter left all the dirty baby bottles in the sink. Our understanding is that she would clean up after the baby's meals. We understand that the first day may not run perfectly, however we cannot overlook that our child was put in a dangerous position. We have serious doubts about the sitter screening and training process. To throw salt in our wound, we had to pay a $50 cancellation fee so she didn't come back for the second day of our booking. We raised our concerns to Lisa, who acknowledged some of our concerns but ignored the point about leaving a baby unattended on a changing table. She told us that she would continue to employ this sitter, but that she would not be assigned to us anymore. We will not be using Pinch Sitters again.

Finding a sitter, who is caring and trustworthy is a tough feat. I thought finding a sitter in NYC…read morewould be almost impossible since we're not locals. I was recommended this agency by a friend. Lisa and her agency were really amazing! My children had never been with anyone but family but we were in town for a family trip and my husband and I had tickets to a Broadway show. I was nervous but since reaching out to Lisa, I felt like we were in good hands. We felt very comfortable after meeting our sitter and my kids loved her. It was an amazing experience and we now can't wait until our next trip to the city to use this agency again!!

Coming from a person who's had more then a year experience working here.. please don't send spend…read moreyour money on this facility. Not saying it's an overall horrible place but even for a daycare that charges more then what they pay their workers, there's definitely happened more bad things here then good. If I could rate working here 0 stars I would but I can't unfortunately. The infant rooms are a solid 9.5/10 but from the pre toddler rooms that call each other names and argue in the rooms in front of babies to toddler 1's where the woman gossip about how wasted they're going to get on the weekends to toddler 2's which fairly have caring enough staff but some temporary staff that go into that room never clean. Two's ? Good Lord.. don't even get me started. One of the leads in that room currently talks to the kids worst then if they were prisoners poor babies. Pre School is also a fairly well staffed room but Pre-K? The lead goes from room to room talking junk about each room to other rooms as if they cared, talks junk about the boss just talk junk about the staff to the boss, she's okay with the kids, just wished she didn't speak so explicitly in front of them. But from kids fingers being cut, to kids getting stitches in their eyebrows to the Director arguing with parents over brightwheel and sending out COVID payments just to get them returned from the banks because they didn't take off "taxes" and sending them back into the accounts of the staff is crazy. And let's not forget how 75% of the staff, take drugs definitely not off the clock :) Hopefully Gina starts making better choices on how she hires people or at least not hire the same kind of people in the new daycare she has in Shelton. P.S. Gina, there's still sheet rock falling off behind some shelves in a couple classrooms if you happen to notice which I'm sure you haven't which was supposed to be resolved the week that you closed in August where you barely did any adjustments to the classrooms.
