An excellent and trustworthy mechanic can be hard to find, which is why I'm so glad to have found…read moreDave -- the owner. He does top-notch work and you can be 100 per cent certain he will not take advantage of you. He is honest to a fault and an all-round upstanding guy. His garage doesn't advertise, except for word of mouth. But he's so darn good that he's always busy. However, if you're in a tight spot Dave will always help. If you're looking to take your car somewhere for maintenance or repairs, take it to Newman Auto. You'll never regret the decision.

This is a small garage that doesn't have the kind of lounge or waiting room you would typically see…read moreat dealerships. However Dave knows very well it's job and the most important is that he finds solutions that are cost effective. He will not change something that doesn't need to be changed and when he does change something he will do it well for a fair price. My A/C stopped working a few months ago so I brought my car to the shop I was used to go. The whole bill for changing everything would have been close to $1000 (probably $1500 at Honda). Upon a good friend recommendation I went to se Dave and je changed a few relays and fixed the A/C compressor without changing it (the part in itself must be close to $500). Total bill was under $200 and it has been working great since. If your budget is more important than the free coffee and glamour you would find in a dealership then I would recommend going to this shop. Appearances are super basic but they are not important for me when I am getting my car repaired as I want the best job for the lowest price. This will be my go to shop from now on.

So the search has been going on for quite a while for my new summer/all-season tires. I was looking…read morefor a specific tire (General RT 43`s) at a fair, competitive price. Now my search was of course on the island of Montréal. A friend of mine suggested this place, in the South Shore. I am so grateful he did. What service! I called Dave and told him what I wanted, and did not want. He straight up told me that my choice was spot on, showed me the proof on the phone (and afterwards reviews regarding my selection) Dave has experience in the world of tires and will offer honest, straight forward opinions. He also helped me fill out my mail in rebate. and explained the warranty regarding my tires. They accept credit cards, cash and interac. They sell brand new tires, used tires. They also had a large selection of mags, steelies, etc both new and used. His shop is tricky to get to, but so worth it. Not only was his price slightly lower than the chain garages I was calling, he took the time to explain everything to me. Service in this industry is lacking but not with Dave and his crew. Professional, honest hard working guys. I truly recommend them (and not a certain garage that quoted me Chinese tires that were more expensive then my General Tires) If you are from the South Shore (or close enough to it) call them up! They speak French and English. This is now my go to place for tires. It is not always about price, it also has to do with service.
