Please please save your money and choose another school to go to. This school is a joke/scam. I don't know where our $16,000 tuition is going but definitely not towards the students education. The " makeup" portion is the biggest joke of all. They don't teach you anything besides how to turn on a airbrush. Lashes are not even worth learning here because you will learn nothing. Better off watching a YouTube video. The school never has the necessary supplies, the rooms and beds and linens are disgusting. Half of the machines are broken. This place really is a hidden gem! I found it online while looking for an affordable way to get facials. Today was my first visit and I was thoroughly impressed!!!! I will definitely be back!! You should remember two things: 1. Your esthetician is a student and, as such, the treatment will take longer than expected because they may not be as fast as someone with more experience. I booked a deep pore cleanse which was scheduled for an hour. My appointment was at 1pm, the service started at 1:30pm and finished at 3pm. 2. The treatment rooms are not fancy, but considering the price is such a bargain I feel like this can be easily overlooked. They play relaxing music and even though you may hear noise from other students in the hallway once in a while it's still an extremely relaxing experience. read more

I had the pleasure of attending this school over a year ago. I didn't finish but I did have a pleasant experience. It's very sanitary throughout the entire school. The staff is personable and full of knowledge. They use their own skin care products which are pretty decent. They supply you with a full kit for all studying and procedures. I was definitely pleased with it. Tuition prices are reasonable and there's always scholarships available. I've tried starting this school twice and because of work scheduling, it never worked out, unfortunately. They do however, have a few different schedule options and are willing to customize them to your needs. What stinks is, the classrooms are very crowded, at least when I attended. When you start school, they throw you in with a whole bunch of other students who have already started. Definitely not the easiest when you have anxiety, like myself. If you're interested in obtaining your esthetician license, this is definitely an accredited school that is worth going to. It's always a good idea to invest in your education. The girl that did my facial this time named Kara seemed extremely inexperienced and would not tell me anything she would do to my face. I came in for an AHA peel and she was very uncommunicative, didn't massage my face with the same pressure as the other girls would and just needs much more practice. It seemed as if she would massage my face with her nails instead of her fingers and scratched me a few times. She gave me no indications throughout the hour long procedure. She needs to be better trained before doing any facials for more clients. She would also touch the machine with her gloves and then touch my face afterwards and had her phone on the counter next to the products. She almost burned my face with the steam and did not know how to use the equipment properly. I had an amazing experience with the past two girls but not this time. read more

Called and made a last min appt and they got me in. I saw they had a wide array of services they offered and staff was very knowledgeable about each one. The place was quiet, relaxing and professional. Mamta was my Esthetician and she was quite good. One of the most relaxing facials I've had and she made sure I was comfortable the entire time. I've been here a few times after purchasing a Groupon. The services themselves aren't bad, the students generally do a decent job. For $25-30, it's a decent pick me up for your skin, but I wouldn't really come here for regular treatments. I love the online scheduling BUT sometimes it can be difficult to get everything scheduled on the same day if you're having two different services done, but that's not a huge flaw. The thing that keeps this from being 4 stars for me is the fact that everything takes FOREVER. I make appointments at 5, and the first visit, I wasn't seen until 5:30, the second visit, not until 6pm. This is crazy! Had a Therapeutic Facial, it was worth it! I added micro led light( I'm not sure if it really was the name of it), it is definitely different but I don't mind taking that as my add on every other facial. I had Manta/ Manda as my therapist and she is really great! I made another appointment with her next time I comes. Not a 5 stars because the room is really small and I felt like I need myself to be smaller so that I won't break anything in the room. Otherwise, the service and the price is great. As it's not entirely fair to review this school without actually going here, this review is on my initial impression as a prospecting student. I chose against this school because I was weary of their salesy communication, lack of knowledgable admissions counselor and program didn't offer the laser certification. Upon filling out their website inquiry, a sales girl starting calling me (called literally 3 times the first day, texted me and then..called again twice the next day). I was too busy to answer the day after Xmas. That same day, the admissions counselor also called. Granted I asked her some tough questions (such as where she thought the future of esthetics was headed, what was the true current job market, and about laser certifications) all of which she didn't know but gave me answers that were vanilla. She also was mistaken about a crucial element of the industry that she should know: medical esthetics. I asked if her school included laser certification and she said, "no, and any school who offers that is doing something illegal. Esthetician schools don't offer that". Um, lady youre wrong. And also, it's a disservice to give wrong info since "medical esti" will be a staple in the future. When I called another local school, I felt more at ease talking to the professional, knowledgable owner and they also offered laser certification in the curriculum. Same tuition price too. read more

I really love this place and it's very affordable. Your best bet is to come in early if you want a Saturday and just assume they will never call you back if you are trying to leave a message about an appointment. If you get over that and their bad filing system you can appreciate it's a place where you can get good spa treatments for dirt cheap. Make sure to tip the girls though, they work hard and are paying a lot for their tuition! Once you do find a person you like, stick with them, not everyone is great and some are just starting their program, while others are far more experienced. One thing however... This place is a hidden gem! I have been living in Naperville for two years now and struggled with finding affordable facials. I read the reviews and was skeptical because it is a school. I just received my one hour deep pore cleansing facial and it was honestly one of the best facials I have ever gotten! I almost fell asleep a few times during it because of how relaxing it was! My skin is literally glowing! The only downfall is that I waited about 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment to be seen, but my facial ran about 20 minutes longer so I did not mind! read more

I always have a great experience here! Today Jenny gave me a seaweed mask. She explained everything and has such a calming way about her. I liked she told me to avoid microderm, and explained why, which I appreciated due to my skin.Jenny was able to educate me on what services would be best for my skin.Its such a relaxing hour. If you are considering enrolling at NSI, I would think twice. The admission's lady is very unclear and your program isn't exactly made up to be how she explains things. Besides being in her office, she is not involved with anything going on in the classrooms or out on the floor, ever. So be skeptical at everything she tells you because most of it is flaky information just to get you signed up. Things are very inconsistent and seem to change on a day to day basis. Staff, including the receptionist & teachers, have changed so many times this year. This is a huge reason why things are very unorganized and frustrating for students. NONE of the staff knows what they are talking about or how to give you a logical & clear answer. Many concerns, problems, and issues are easily brushed off. Several students became victims of identity theft while enrolled. Even though the school claims it couldn't stem from them, it seems pretty coincidental for that many students to have ID theft happen at the same time and go to the same school. Somewhere along the way our personal information was not secured. And if you are going to esthetics school mostly to become a makeup artist, definitely look into other schools. I love me some spa treatments! When I lived in the city, I was fortunate to have the most wonderful esthetician just down the block (see Temilla's skin care if you are in the city). Since I'm in the burbs now, I have been slacking a bit. One of my clients at work recommended the Naperville Skin Institute. It's a beauty school, but don't let that turn you off, the prices are excellent and the menu of services offers nearly everything that a 'regular' spa offers. So far I've had facial and microdermabrasion treatments, and I'm coming back in a couple of weeks for a peel. Prices are generally between $20-34 dollars, depending on the treatment. Only a few negatives: the walls are thin, and although there is music, you may hear the folks next door. Also, you generally cannot schedule an appointment with the same student (unless they happen to be there on the day of your treatment.) The exterior and waiting room are not fancy, so it would be unreasonable to compare this to a high end spa. On the good side, there is online scheduling (a big plus). It's nice to have affordable skin care treatments available, which means I can go more often and not think twice about it. One thing you have to remember is that this is a school. These girls are learning about the industry and getting their first hands on. The school itself has some of the best teachers that I have ever worked with. The current staff is wonderful and does whatever they can to get you the education to succeed. I went to this school 5 years ago , staff was extremely bad at the time young 21 year old teachers that have not even been in the spa industry. Becoming an in instructor is the loser that sucked at doing facials and gave up . When you graduate esthetician's school don't expect to make 30 k a year . This business takes 10 years to build a clientele and you need to be really good with a lot of experience !!! When you graduate school and work at a spa your poor sad to say . Some salons pay 8.25 an hour and you might get 1 facial and make 10 buck tip . If you have kids and are broke I would not go to esthetician's school . Your better of going to be a medical assistant that's a legitimate job and you are more likely to work at a doctors office or medspa . i went in for a last minute facial and was glad they were able to get me in. It was nice and quiet, clean and the instructor who was also at the front desk was able to evaluate my skin. I got a seaweed mask and a enzyme, not sure of which enzyme. My complaint is that the student did my extractions at the very end and not after the stream. She mentioned that she was having a hard time and I said my skin might be to dry and one was not a zit but had to be lanced by a dermatologist. It was a most memorable visit. The student apathetically invited me into the working room. I requested to have a therapeutic facial. This facial should include a neck and shoulder massage that was not performed by a student. The hand massage was performed poorly with such a small amount of lotion that you could feel the latex gloves rubbing against my dry skin. At the end the mask was not fully removed from my face. Lotion or serum was applied in the same way. This memorable event ended with a charge not the same that was stated on the main board. "All services are performed by students under the guidance on an instructor". That is what was stated on the website. I didn't see any of them at any time during my stay. read more
