It's the front office staff--just not efficient. When someone comes in for a service whatever that may be--their time should not be wasted. I almost felt bad telling the woman there I didn't have all day I had places to go, things to do. Like it's not obvious? If I had time and was so inclined I may engage in some light conversation above and beyond the normal pleasantries. When I cut her off saying I had to go to she was clearly offended and when we finished what I had come for--and I had to correct her process SEVERAL times she told me I was "lucky" because usually there is a long wait. Really? I think not. Oh all I needed was fingerprints for a state license. Simple process.

Spent a few vacations on the beach but today we visited the Tin City Waterfront Shops for the first time and really enjoyed it. Ate lunch then dinner right smack on the river. Aside from restaurants and boutiques there are historic landmarks in Naples too.

Great beaches, lots of nature…read morecenters, a beautiful botanical garden, the town is cute and charming with some historic buildings and many things to do: cultural events, great dining and shopping scene, art galleries (some on the cheesy side, but that's how Naples is). You can find parking in downtown (free), lots of activities in the area, local cruises (nature ones, historic, shorter or longer), so do some research before visiting. Check their event calendar for art fairs and street events since they have them all through the year. Naples has personality, far from being boring!

In these turbulent times, everyone's always saying how we should commend officers for their bravery and diligence. They're what's between us and anarchy after all (case in point, society on its last gasp with a small police force in the first Mad Max versus the lawless wasteland of The Road Warrior). So why hasn't anyone else left a glowing review here? I goof around in my writings, it's what I do, just take a look at my profile. But my love for the Marco Island Police Department is genuine. Having moved here less than a year ago, I can say that this is one of the nicest areas I've had the pleasure of experiencing. So I would like to thank the officer who helped me yesterday. I wish I got your name but you know who you are. You responded to a relatively minor incident, negligible in the grand scheme of things, but you never made me feel foolish for placing my first 911 call. You brought me peace and comfort when you told me that you didn't believe I was targeted for my identity, not here, it was just an accident. That really meant a lot to me. And you went above and beyond to help fix what was broken, not just physically, but emotionally. Awwww now isn't that a line. Where's my Pulitzer? But seriously, thank you. It may not have seemed like much to you, but your reassurance meant the world to me.
