This park is absolutely beautiful and the walking trails are paved and flat which is great for people who are physically challenged like me lovely wife. My only concern and complaint is the lack of trash cans around the pond. In general human beings are self centered and inconsiderate of nature and others in general which leads me to my concerns and complaints. The amount of trash and bags of dog poop scared around the pond and trail is unacceptable. The only two trash cans that are left are at the snack bar area and most of the time they are overflowing with trash. There is always fishing gear including fish hooks scattered around the benches at the bridge along with waste such as worm containers discarded bate and alcohol bottles. In short the park maintenance is lacking to say the least. I realize that the pond swim and picnic area does not open until Memorial Day weekend but that is not a good reason for the lack of cleanliness and disrepair off the benches and buildings. My wife needs to take a break from walking because she has post polio syndrome and the beaches that are scattered around the pond are a blessing for her and other physically challenged people who also enjoy the walking path but most of the beaches are coming apart and people have decided that leaving their bags of dog poop next to them is a acceptable practice. There are kid toys and flotation devices scattered around the shoreline of the pond that have been there for the three years that I have been coming to the park along with water bottles and other trash. If all of these things were taken care of on a regular basis I would be able to give this park a five star with two thumbs up. This park could be a diamond if the people would just pick up after themselves and the parks and recreation department would do better at their jobs, however the people of the town of Acton and the surrounding area need to do better at picking up after themselves and stop being disrespectful of nature and other peoples property! read more

I'm not an Acton resident, so can't comment yet on the facilities or programming. Nara Park has a large, free parking lot for access to the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail. They also have clean restrooms that anyone can use. Not port-a-pots. Actual toilets and sinks with running water. You also get access to Nashoba Brook Conservation Land via a short walk down the rail trail. Or to Town Forest by walking the Nara Park trails. It seems like they have rock concerts every Friday night in summer - cover bands. read more

A nice sized park to take the doggy out for a walk. There's paved walkways, which is nice especially for those with mobility issues. There's a lake/pond I believe that is open to the public during summer time to go swimming and all. When we went during early April, we didn't have to pay for parking but I believe this changes with warmer weather. read more

Some places to take dogs for walk but are constantly interrupted by walkers and bikers. Has a good path for bikers. Has big soccer fields. Good place for children and their families to go for an outing either it is a walk or do certain exercising activities. I would like a basketball court set up there. In the summer there is a beach. Beach tends to get a bit crowded though. read more

Last year for my brother's birthday we elected to go to Hopkinton State Park and if I remembered correctly, it earned a 2 star review. Nara park was MILES above Hopkinton in every way. Got there early but not too early.. yet still was able to get parking with ease. The swim area was small but there weren't a lot of people. The place was CLEAN and I loved it because I saw plenty of workers maintaining the area to keep it clean, emptying out trash and so forth. They charged us a fee to get a grilling area and it cost 75 dollars. Normally that would be too much but I didn't mind paying it for a number of reasons. Firstly, it meant that there would be less people there so the park would have a lot less people there to congest everything. Secondly, it helps them to maintain the cleanliness of the park so I'm all for paying to have a grilling area. What I didn't like was paying to swim. It was 30 dollars for 6 wrist bands to swim or 7-10 per wristband depending on the time of day. I think that's a lot of money, especially after shelling out 75 for a spot in the grilling area. But overall, plenty of parking, attentive park staff to keep the area clean and beautiful weather.. it turned out to be an amazing day. I highly recommend coming here. read more

So I get to this park around nine PM after a detour to Kimball Farms, the moon is full, the night is clear and the fireflies are out. The park is a man made one with a small pond and a grassy area around it with a little mound on one side. The drum and dance is on the far side and I get there when it is in full swing. There is around 60 plus people, and I expected to recognize some from the New Year's Eve Drumming circle at the Masonic temple in Watertown, but I hardly see anyone I recognize. From anywhere. Which surprises me because I have been going to the New Year's Eve drum and dance for four years and Dance Friday for two and expected some crossover. Anyways my daughter had a good time, and my friend Dave has a really cool time too. Will have to come back in the day time for a swim and lunch too. Maybe I'll throw a party with a bonfire too. read more

Beautiful, large, park with athletic fields, a playground, perimeter walking path, man-made swimming pond, and concert pavilion that has continued to be developed year after year. They host many family-style and teen-style events throughout the year. I was recently disappointed in their promotion for last weekend's Glen Miller Orchestra concert. Weeks before the event, an Acton resident told me about the performance. I went to their Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/pages/NARA-Park/115407711850937) to find additional information, but there was none in any of their postings. I asked for additional information about the show and was given parking information and a "doors opening" time. No mention of admission fee. When my family arrived, we learned of a $10 admission fee per person. In my opinion, organizations cannot rely on their web sites or newspapers to reach their biggest audience. There is no excuse for information on a concert of this magnitude *not* being posted to their Facebook page. I am knocking off one star for this. read more

I enjoy this place a lot. My daughter loves it, it's convenient to home. I've noticed that during the summer lots of folks not from Acton come through, which lends to the diversity that tends to be less present in the community overall-- however, folks do fail to clean up after themselves and there are few trash bins etc on the beach itself which exacerbates the issue. Long story short however: good place to go, fun in the summer, the 3rd of July fireworks are great and the walking path around the park is quaint. Go! Go today! Tomorrow! The next day, but please clean up your own stuff. Do that for all of us. read more

NARA is a wonderful park with free parking, a fun beach area, playground, sledding hill, outdoor performance venue, lake, running/walking trails, pet friendly, baseball and soccer fields, it's the complete package! I'm so happy I can walk through the woods to NARA from my house! read more

Nice And Clean . You cant Bring your own grill The small cost $25 The big grill $50 to use . $5 per person to swim . When we got there they didn't allow my boys in the water because it had reached capacity . Go early then I guess . But the area is nice there is playground for the kids . read more

The park was clean and there were plenty of things to do (swim, grill, volleyball, paddle boats). It was more expensive than other beaches because it is funded by the town. Not good for large groups as there is a pay per person rate for getting onto the beach ($6 for Acton residents, $8 for non residents). Even if you rent a grill for the day ($35-$75 depending on the grill size), you still have to pay the beach rate if you want to swim. There are a few shaded spots on the beach, but the picnic area is mostly unshaded. Bring a canopy or umbrella if you plan to spend the day! read more

My son loves this park! The playground is well kept and it is nice to have a space in the area that feels connected to nature. It's also a good place to meet families with young children that my son can interact with. read more
