Brand new premises, a big comfortable waiting room and friendly reception staff. There is also a pathology collection centre on site. I have been lucky so far with waiting times (touchwood) - maybe because I get early afternoon appointments at the start of my GPs shift - but you always expect to wait a little at the doctor unfortunately. No bulk billing (except for exceptional circumstances), but they do the Medicare claim on the spot for you, so you get the refund straight away - which is exactly how it should be everywhere now!

Since moving to the new surgery it is almost always guaranteed you will get an appointment, but with this seems to come an expected wait time of over 45 min, of course you expect to wait at the doctors but 45 - 60 mins is a little ridiculous in my opinion. I will continue to go here due to convenience & the quality of the doctors but expect a wait & it is slightly pricey but you get what you pay for.

When I was little this was the place that my Mum would take me when I was faking a sickie to get off school. It was always a battle of who would crack first but mostly it would end in the doctor telling Mum that I didn't have a temperature, my blood pressure was fine and I looked healthy. A raised eyebrow from Mum and stubborn avoidance of eye contact from me and I would be back at school the next day. Ah, the memories. The Wantirna Medical Clinic is pretty standard on all counts. They have the waiting room with the tv playing sitcoms in the corner and a little kids section with toys. The magazines are all months old and even with an appointment you're often left waiting for up to ten to fifteen minutes. The doctors here are very good though and they don't take any rubbish - particularly not from little girls pretending to be sick so they don't have to go to school. The appointments here are generally pretty quick but can last up to 15 minutes depending on your health issue. The receptionists are friendly enough and they do bulk billing.

They take bookings online which was pretty easy to do, although I didn't have a local mobile number so I had to use my best friend's number so she got the text message reminder about the appointment (sorry Gemma). I didn't have to wait too long for my appointment and the waiting room was pretty quiet - not sure if I was just there on a slow day but I was surprised at how quiet it was. The doctor was great, getting my problem sorted out without any issues and giving me a prescription which I got filled at the Chemist Warehouse which is nearly next door. Downside of Aussie doctors is that you have to pay at the end (SOB) and it was about $75 (£35) - they do process your Medicare rebate then and there though, so I think I was probably $30 out of pocket. All up, a decent place to see a doctor and I'd go back. - Street parking available as well as undercover parking around the corner. - Toilets available in the waiting area

From making the appointment on the phone all the way through to paying for the appointment was a great experience. Friendly service from all staff, no wait time, I went right in. Dr Kaur was thorough getting to know my family history. She did the check up and it was all very professional and painless. If you're looking for a good female doctor, you'll probably find her here. I paid $86 for the appointment and was told that I'd get $30 something back from Medicare. Worth it!

My first and all subsequent appointments were with Dr Kirshner and she is fantastic. Dr Kirshner took the time to get to know me, understand lifestyle and medical history in a way no doctor had before. She gave me a general check up that was very comprehensive as well as addressing my specific concerns, and explained the reason behind the various tests she was doing. The Epworth Freemasons is expensive for a GP service, but for me it was worth the peace of mind. There is also a Men's Clinic in the same complex.

If you take Grattan Street away from the university, you'll then take a right and go up 200m and you'll find it on your left hand side. They provide a drop in service where you can usually be seen the same day. You have to wait for this as it is done on a first come, first serve basis. It pays to come early to minimise your waiting time. I have seen Dr Penn on a number of times and he is really good. I've also seen other doctors and they have all offered impeccable service. The doctors tend…read moreto rotate pretty frequently - enough so that I've never really had a regular doctor but a string of random practitioners who I am unlikely to see again. This works out pretty well sometimes as it means I can ask whatever embarrassing medical questions I want with no fear of having to face them again in three months time. On the other hand it's also pretty annoying as it means that you have to catch each doctor up with your medical history each time you go. This practice never seems to be running on time with appointments with very long waiting times even when you booked well in advance. My advice is to book one of the first sessions each morning to avoid this. They have a kids play area in the waiting room and plenty of magazines and books for older people to look at. There's also a small television in the corner to keep you entertained. There's about four or five doctors who work here at any given time so they also accept walk-ins without appointments- however except to wait a really, really long time. On site they have a second building, which is equipped for blood tests, injections and x-rays. The staff in this building are really friendly and very good at dealing with people who are scared of having needles. Despite the waiting around, the service here is generally pretty good and because it's so local to me I really cannot complain.

I have been going here for about 6 years so I have seen a few doctors at this practice. I prefer to stick with one when possible but sometimes schedules and urgent issues don't allow that. The doctors (Dr Oh, Dr Khoo, Dr Civitico) I have seen are all very good. They provide thoroughness and consistency that you just don't get at the big commercial chain practices. They do charge above the Medicare fee and ask you to pay the entire fee up front but they do forward the details to Medicare on your behalf for reimbursement directly from medicare for the standard amount. They have an onsite collection centre for HealthScope pathology so you can one stop shop if needed.

I mean, she's fantastic and I happily recommend her to people, but can you really get excited about a medical clinic? On reflection though, I found that it's possible to think about your experiences in that place to date and realise you have very little to fault. I see two doctors at this clinic - Dr Trish Civitico and Dr Graeme Edwards. Both are great! Whilst Collins Place does bulk bill, a regular appointment will still need you to pay a certain amount over and above that. After your Medicare rebate, it works out to be about $15. They do however bulk bill vaccinations and the full cost is covered. I started going to CPMC when I worked across the road... and whilst I no longer work there, I still make the trip into the city because the experience here is consistently great... and when you're sick, you want consistency and predictability, right?
