If jurors forgot their juror summons they were able to have it reprinted on site. There is a large jury holding room and a jury lounge off to the side. The lounge was less crowded so I waited there most of the time. The speaker system was set up so you could hear the announcements from either space. Jurors were repeatedly thanked by the people making the announcements and the informational videos for taking time out of their busy schedule to serve. It was nice to feel appreciated. About 30 minutes after arrival time juror ballots and information cards were collected. If your ballot was pulled your name would be announced and you would report to a juror room. There they take attendance and jurors would fill out questionnaires if required by the judge. Then the jurors would be escorted to the courtroom where the juror selection process would take place. Then selection starts with jurors who wish to be excused for scheduling issues such as travel during the trial period or other reasons for not being able to serve. After that 14 jurors (12 main and 2 alternate) are chosen and questioned by the attorneys. Then the jurors are chosen from the 14. If necessary the process repeats with another round. Jurors not chosen needed to report back to the holding area. Back at the holding area jurors would wait until released. Jurors were released for lunch from 12:30pm to 2:00pm. The day ends at 5pm unless released earlier. Before being released jurors received a letter as a proof of service. The juror selection process seemed long and tedious. Not sure if it can be streamlined somehow. Upon returning to the holding area after lunch it was not clear that the jury pool was already released (probably before lunch when I was away during juror selection). I ended up waiting around for 45 minutes before finding someone to ask and getting my proof of service. Posting signs in the juror holding area or text/email notifications would solve this. Interestingly there was a mobile mammography unit parked outside of the building. You could get a mammogram if you were insured, had a referral from your doctor and didn't have a mammogram in the last year. It was a good way to multitask when waiting around in the holding area if it was a need. As for food and snacks there was a cafe downstairs that I didn't visit. There were signs to get a free coffee by signing up at a link revealed with a QR code.

Plenty of free parking is available. Don't forget to bring a pen because you'll definitely need one, and they will not provide you with in one; however, you can purchase a pen from them. lol Appointments are by reservations only! You can easily book an appointment online. But be warned, the appointments get filled up pretty quickly, so reserve early! I booked online and the earliest appointment available was one month later! *** Make sure you fill out an application when you get there. This is in addition to any paperwork you may have been mailed. You need both forms. Once you have all your paperwork, get online to get a ticket number. There are numerous monitors in the huge waiting area. Once your # is called, it will appear on the monitors, which will direct you to which counter to go to. If renewing a license, you will be directed to the counter to have your photo taken. After your photo is taken, you go back to the waiting area for your # to be called again. Once your # is called again, you're directed to a counter to present your paperwork along with your required documents. Paperwork is processed, pay your fees, and your done! So easy! ***The key is to have ALL the required paperwork and documents required. Aside from the 2 rude young ladies who greeted me, all personnel (& security) were very friendly, helpful and professional. I was in and out in less than an hour!

Check in was easy and staff were really helpful. Staff was able to guide me to getting my ticket and explained to wait for my number to be shown on the board. It was really clean inside and well kept. This DMV is bright and huge inside. I had all my paperwork filled out and all what was needed to register my car to receive plates. I came on 8/29/2025 @ about 11am, I was helped by a young lady (I forgot her name) at #25 extremely polite and helpful. I'm was in and out of DMV less than 20mins no lie!! I say, have your paperwork in check, make an appointment, be on time and be polite. You will be out of there sooner than the city's DMV. Definitely coming back here.

Unfortunately, a loved one was recently arrested and the officers were extremely compassionate and helpful. Even allowing the use of their phone. From the lieutenant that I dealt with about 2 years ago for an incident, a traffic stop with my father to the most recent mishap with a loved one getting arrested, all of the officers have shown fairness and professionalism to the highest degree even when the civilians were in the wrong. I can't express how thankful I am to live in an area where the precinct is full of overall good people that still continue to show kindness and understanding despite the negativity going on throughout the city.

Night court money maker…read more Apparently the Village of Floral Park has a robust business of corralling the public and hauling them into night court for the slightest infractions. In my case it was because my insurance card was expired. They give you a court date and you HAVE to appear. I could have simply showed them the correct card, as it is done everywhere else on the planet, but that is not sufficient - you have to go waste a few hours sitting in a court room only to have your case dismissed. Although the Judge does a good job of moving it along, I can only imagine what they would do if they had some real criminal problems. I put up a photo (not too good) of all the other saps that had to waste a Monday sitting there. Such a waste of money and time.

You know, like that good friend you have who works somewhere and they got your back? We usually have like zero expectations from PD or DMVs, but not here at NCPD. I did have to drop by a second time for my request, but it was for a valid reason like having expired passport. If you have everything they asked for, everything is good! They really seem like they love helping you. Oh, I think NCPD is closed on Fridays. It's better to check the times before dropping by. COVID related, they're having you wait outside, socially distanced, allowing 2 guests at a time, temperature measured at the entrance, sanitizer available at the entrance. Everyone is wearing a mask.

Very clean. But, the entry and exit doors are always broken, allowing the wind to blow right through the complex, completely negating any benefits of a "green" building. Who designed these doors?? The gym is top notch. Much better than my basement. Gym staff all look fit and seem to know what they're talking about. I highly recommend patronizing this place if you have the right credentials, even though they don't really want or need your business. I'd give it 5 stars. But we all know there's plenty of progress to be made. As soon as you call yourself #1, you're done making improvements. That goes for our country as well. Let's get to work!
