My perspective: Checked out Sierra for first time because my SIL had a return. The return was made quickly and efficiently. Then, I had a chance to check out the store. It is a good place to shop if you want to purchase items for outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, boating, skiing, and travel. There are rows of tightly packed racks that are organized by signage. There is help circulating that you can seek out if you want or need help. I have decided that I prefer Sierra's "Sister" stores: Marshalls, Homegoods, and TJ Maxx. I like a more varied selection of clothing styles for myself and the family, and I really like checking out items for the home found in the "Sister" stores. I enjoy shopping Homegoods and TJ Maxx and rarely leave empty handed. Today, my SIL purchased a name brand quality raincoat to take on her upcoming trip to Japan. She is pleased that there is a brick and mortar Sierra store in the area because even if you mail order online, you can return items to this store.

Low and behold, I came across a poster offering savings if you opened a TJX credit card. TJX encompasses Sierra, Marshalls, Tj-max, Home Goods, and Home Sense. I would concur that it is like a Marshalls without the furniture and kitchen stuff. There is a lot of active wear clothing and accessories for those who enjoy doing things outdoors like hiking, camping, biking, water sports, etc. And yes, for those of you who like to have your dog(s) with you wherever you go, there is a section in the store to purchase treats for your pup. An item I saw for keeping the entire family active and entertained was LED Snowballs for that indoor snowball fight. A staff member came up to us almost immediately after we entered and asked if we needed help finding anything. She introduced herself and said to look for her if we needed any assistance or had questions. I never noticed her again during the thirty minutes we explored the store.

Please note that customer bears the cost of shipping for purchases under $100 plus the cost of return shipping. I ended up spending $23 in shipping costs. Furthermore, owner did not respond to emails regarding when refund would be processed. Also difficult reaching these folks by phone. After one month of getting the run around regarding the refund, i contacted my bank. Only then, was the refund processed. I would not recommend dealing with this online business. Many other competitors available.

We visited for the first time today so my wife could shop for something to wear to an upcoming event. The store seems packed with merchandise in two adjacent salesrooms. There were designer names that I had never heard of, but my wife quickly recognized them as those found in higher end boutiques. Their prices are very reasonable for the quality of what they sell, and their sale prices are even better. My wife happily walked out with three items in her purchase. We were fortunate to have met the owner, Lea, while checking out. She explained that her store has been open for 23 years in Chatham. When people ask how she can afford to sell her merchandise at the prices marked, she explains that she has a low overhead with it being a family run business and the Chatham building is essentially her warehouse. She also told us, if you don't see a size you are looking for, ask for assistance. She likely has more sizes stored off the sales floor. If you can't make it to Chatham, she explained she also has been selling directly from her website. Attractive prices, and very friendly and welcoming service, the only thing missing is... clothing for us men.

The closest place I could find was Lea's. So off I went, even though it was 2 1/2 hours from the City it was worth the drive and I would highly recommend shopping here. Lea was very helpful and I really appreciated her assistance. The store is jam packed with artsy/fun creative type clothing and Lea really did know where everything was. She helped me find a jumpsuit I had my eye on from looking on-line, as well as pants and tips she though I would like. I'll definitely be back when the summer is over to pick up some new items for the season change if not before!

What I didn't expect was a top-notch consignment store, but The Fashion Plate is just that! The interior is quirky as the store is in a historic colonial home, but that made the shopping experience all the more unique and fun. The prices are very reasonable and there is a wide-range from designer to accessible, every day pieces. There are also clothes and accessories for men, children, pets, and the home. The staff were friendly and welcoming, but they also gave me the space to browse without feeling pressured to buy, which for me is a major plus. I spent about 45 minutes browsing and trying on items so I would suggest giving yourself time to really explore the entire store--as one reviewer noted there is a lot to see (but I did not think this was an issue--more treasures to find!). My haul from the Fashion Plate included a vintage Chanel necklace, Chanel cashmere gloves (odd buy in July but winter is coming--haha), Lanvin ballet flats, deadstock Gucci blooms purse, Chanel wedges (I ended up wearing these to the wedding), a Henri Bendel backpack, a cool painting, and a pair of Chanel cambon ballet flats. They only stock authentic items (they explained their rigorous authentication process) and I appreciate that commitment to not selling replica goods. There was so much more to tempt me! I will certainly be back to shop this fun boutique.

Cash only folks)... turns out going to Wilmington for syrup is a lot like going to Target for toothpaste. Who knew such a fashion mecca could exist on the outskirts of a forest? Seriously, the owner's buying game is on point. I think I walked into the dressing room with at least 40 items. None of which would be useful for a weekend of camping. But all of which were great brands, new or basically new, ridiculously cute and so reasonably priced. But don't worry. I also got my syrup. Let's hope I don't spill it on all my new fashion finds.
