Their crew left debris and exposed areas of the roof during rain events, causing interior water damage to multiple units. Nastar did a complete reroofing of my house after Hurricane MILTON, and the Tornado, my Lanai roof had to be repaired with new deck board, Joe was very friendly professional and didn't downplay anything, straight forward estimate, and we agreed to a start date, then after the initial tear off and peal and stick was down, I was called when the inspector would be out, then the shingles and roof venting was installed, again the inspector came out and gave his ok, so all in all I am very happy with how well and fast Nastar crew did their job, and the office Person was great too! NASTAR doesn't guarantee their work. Do not use them! They put a new roof on my house and somehow created a dent in the front of the roof (photo attached). It appears they used a warped piece of plywood. They will not fix the problem. Additionally, after they removed my old roof water was allowed to run into the house and flooded in interior. We purchased a home with a new tile roof installed by Nastar. Even though the roof was only a few months old we knew there were issues but we were assured by Nastar that they would stand behind their work and the warrantee would transfer to us as new owners. It took four or five attempts but I think they have fixed the leaks and replaced the improperly installed and tiles broken during installation. The remaining unresolved issue is cracking and discolored mortar. The men sent out for repairs agreed that it is a terrible job. They said that Nastar fired the crew that did the job because of poor workmenship but they were not authorized to correct the problem. On this issue Nastar won't even return my calls. I contracted with Nastar in Aug. 2022 and sent them my deposit which they banked. The contract indicated work was to be done, Oct. 12-14. Now, post hurricane Ian, many times I have emailed them and or spoke to them on the phone and requested that they indicate when the work would be done. They promise to call back, and never do. After speaking with a solicter. I sent them a certified demand letter, indicating I would be suing them for breach of contract and then the difference between their quote and the cost to replace the roof by another company. This is not a supply issue as they are currently roofing homes in my gated community. Do not just get your deposit back and let them off the hook for a legitimate contract. I would never recommend them to anyone, they were quick to come and give a quote, and I have no complaints with the timely manner in which the work was done. The problems come when you have two leaks and they will do nothing to fix them. I hired NASTAR to replace my roof after Hurricane Ian. I waited 3 months before calling to allow the rush of work to clear a bit since my house was dry with a tarp installed by the Army Corp of Engineers. NASTAR told me that they were being delayed waiting for the permit to be approval. Then after about a 5 week wait, they called to say they had the permit and would start the next morning at 7AM. While they were working, I noticed that there was no building permit displayed on site as required by regulations. None of the crew spoke English, so I called the office to find out where the permit was. I was told they would send a man out to collect the second payment from me and he would deliver the permit. He arrived, I gave him the check and claimed to know nothing about delivering a permit. He offered to go back to the office to get it and bring it back, I reminded him that the work that day could not be inspected without a permit hanging on site. A day and a half went by without the man calling or returning. Their office phone started being answered by the "answering service" although I had my doubts that it was just the office since one guy messed up and answered like normal then tried to cover saying he was the answering service...at 2PM! I called the county code enforcement office and found that no such permit was ever applied for. After calling NASTAR and leaving a new message with what I had just learned, they finally returned my call. She then proudly gave me the permit application number assuming that I would be satisfied. But I then told her that I just checked and they had only submitted the application an hour AFTER I told her that they had illegally started work on my house 3 days ago and that I would report them! This and more annoyed me enough to fire and report NASTAR. This is a flavor of what I am still dealing with with this company. Be careful! read more

Nastar Roofing was hired to fix my leaking roof. They never properly sourced the leak merely guessed as to where the leak was coming from and why. They ripped up some shingles slapped some sealant on in different places and my roof still leaks ...right in the same spot it always has. They were out two more times but once again guessing as to why the roof was still leaking...slapped some more sealant under the shingles... and yup still leaks. I've spent the last four months trying to get them to fix it properly and now they just ignore me. I'm sure they are hoping the one year guarantee on their workmanship runs out and they can tell me it's out of warranty. However...that's right... they never fixed it to begin with. read more

A week after our roof was badly damaged from Hurricane Ian , I called Nastar to give us an estimate and evaluation of our roof . The man, Robbie Fewox, came out and told us the entire roof needed a replacement and that he would tarp the whole roof and send photos of the damage to our insurance company for $3,500. I stupidly wrote him a check for the entire amount and a few days later, a few men showed up and spent about 45 minutes putting up two mismatched tarps and held them down with our broken tiles! I went to the office and they were supposed to come back and finish the job with more tarps to cover the damaged areas and put on sand bags, but they never did. We made multiple phone calls , sent letters to no avail, but finally an employee agreed to refund me half the amount. Was the job they did worth, $1, 750. ? Absolutely not, but I did not want to waste my time in court and go through the aggravation . I would never trust Nastar again. They took advantage of us during a vulnerable time and lied to us. HI.... Nastar installed a roof on my home in April of this year. I was told by BILLY that she would take care of my wind mitigation inspection after installation. I have made no less than 5 phone call to your office. For some reason I never get to speak to BILLY. I'M always told "I will leave her a message" I have spoken to Carley on at least 2 occasions once on 4-28-2018 and again 6-19-2018... I can not understand your willingness to allow this to happen. Roof was installed in March and have been waiting for the wind mitigation paperwork. I've contacted the company and have spoken with Billie Lee countless times. Issues came up such as the pictures on the camera being deleted requiring them to retake the pictures. These pictures are needed for wind mitigation. Since March when the roofing work was completed she expressed that we would be getting the wind mitigation so we can provide it to our insurance company. Weeks have passed, many phone calls have been made and I now have to pay my insurance and have not been able to provide them with the mind mitigation proof they require. read more

We needed to replace our roof and we got over 10 roofers to come out and give us a quote. Getting the quotes was an experience in itself, letting alone making a decision as to whom to we were going to choose. We narrowed it down to 3 and Nastar was one of them. I did have some concerns after reading the reviews on yelp and I called them up about these concerns. Tony and two of his co-workers came to our home the next day with paper documents of of past contracts so that I could check out their work and they stayed 30 minutes just making sure I knew what to expect when they started on our roof. They appeared to be sincere, the price was excellent and I just felt good about their commitment to making sure I was comfortable making this company my roofer. The contract was signed and yes, you do have to make a deposit at signing, but they have to order the supplies for the roof and we wanted a certain shingle. Once they start you make the second payment and then once the final inspection is done, you make the last payment. I have had other large scale work done and this was the same procedure with a general contractor. I was told that they would most likely start within 8 weeks, since so many homes needed roof repair from the hurricane. They called us at 6 weeks stating that the crew would be there first thing the next day to start on the roof. This was a large crew. They were there at 7:30AM and they were done by 3PM. The old roof was gone, the black "sticky" paper was installed and the yard was left spotless. They brought in a dumpster at 7:30 AM for the old roof and it was gone by the end of the day as well. We were lucky the inspector came the next day and approved that portion of the work. The shingles came a few days later and so did the rains. Eddie came when the rain stopped and he put the new shingles on. He was done in one day and four hours the next day. He did the whole roof and we could not be more pleased with his workmanship. It has been raining ever since, and not one drop in the house or the garage. So if you don't count the rain days nor the wait for inspections, our entire roof installation took two days and four hours. And the work crew were polite, respectful and exceptional. My suggestion is if you have concerns call them and make sure your concerns are heard. Open communication makes a difference and most issues or concerns can be addressed in a respectful and professional manner. We were very pleased with our experience with Nastar. read more

We hired Nastar Roofing to repair a roof leak approximately four months ago. We were advised by the salesman that in order to fix it properly, all of the tiles from the gutter to the peak of the roof would have to be removed in order to locate and fix the source of the problem. They sent one gentleman out and he worked for 4-5 hours and told us that the job was complete. With the next rain, the roof continued to leak tar. We called to report that the roof was not fixed. They sent out two gentlemen that time and they used our hose and a caulking gun to try and find the issue. Our roof continued to leak tar. We called multiple times and even stopped by the office to show them pictures. We were promised return phone calls that never came. When we stopped by, we were told someone would stop by to look at it again but could never be told when. Our roof is still not repaired. Perhaps if you're getting a new rough they're great but any sort of repair work, not so great. They completely lack any customer service. I would not recommend them to anyone. I had the worst experience with this company. Nastar Roofing was sub-contracted by a larger company to re-do my roof. My experience was a disaster from the get go.They were unprofessional, sloppy and rude. They made a mess of my front porch including, getting tar everywhere, breaking the tiles, and breaking yard ornaments instead of picking them up.When they worked on the area that had a leak,all the standing water dumped into my house and they said that it was not possible.Upon completion of their work, I had a hideous, uneven roof. The owner of Nastar had multiple excuses ( including the age of the house.....7 yr , guess that was wrong. When backed into a corner he finally told me " You have a leak proof roof, it is just the aesthetics" The company that hired them got them to replace 10 areas that were a problem but still leaving me with a horrible uneven roof.Thankfully I did not hire Nastar directly because the Company that sub-contracted them is on my roof redoing the entire job. If this roof doesn't leak it will be a miracle. If anything could be done wrong it was. They first shingled half my home in one color and the other half in a different color. They shingled over the fan exhaust hole. The valleys we're screwed up along with some problems with the flashing. Now, to be fair, I gave them the second star because they did come back out to fix all of our concerns. It did end up looking nice. The new soffit looks great, we had no problems with that at all. I was not happy that they had to fix everything because I feel that once you have to start sliding things in at a different order than when it is newly installed you are opening yourself up to problems. My mother called them back in October of 2017 for a new roof quote after the hurricane! They came out and gave her a quote with no mention of money up front. Because of many damaged properties in Florida the insurance company took forever to get my mother her settlement to get her roof fixed along with some other items. She called Nastar roofing back and the gentlemen came out to reassess and gave my mother a new quote and told her that they were at least seven weeks behind, but she would have to put $4,000 to $5,000 to hold her spot in line! To me that's total bullshit! Holding someone's money for a minimum of seven weeks before you even start the job.
