I didn't have Roosevelt State Park on my bookmarks list but I was driving past (this was my exit…read moreoff I-20) and noticed the three/four story observation tower. How could I resist the opportunity to climb up and get a look at the vicinity? The tower does have a lock on it, but in late afternoon it was open for tourists and so I made my way to the top. (Elevator appeared to be out of service.) There's a super view to the East and South from up here and since it was a clear day, I could literally see for miles and miles. The view to the West, which is where you might see Jackson MS, is blocked by mountain (hill?) and trees. A neat stop to stretch legs. I did not see any bathroom services here by the tower, but there's a gas station across the way.
